SAUROD in MOTUC

This is a very cool character from the 1987 MOVIE, but he lacks of bio because he was just appeared in the film.

I believe that MOTUC Saurod must be included in the Snakemen.

He is a bounty hunter obsessed with richness, Saurod is always looking for money and treasures.

He is very loyal to King Hsss and obeys all his orders. But when there isn´t any request of his King he can works for the highest bidder.

He is a master of hunter, expert in energy.

In the movie he was a henchman of Skeletor along with Blade (who I believe also appeared only in the movie).

So if Saurod or Blade will be released in the future they should tie them in a bio with Skeletor. The Snake Men idea is interesting, but I personally prefer the original idea.

Evil Lyn assembles some bounty hunters in a scene like that in Empire. Technically, his affiliation could be to the Snakemen, but also sell his services to Skeletor.

If we look at the mini-comics, there is sometimes an alliance between the two forces.

Saurod is my favorite of the three produced 1987 movie characters. Personally I would rather not see him affiliated with the Snake Men.

His bio could be easy. You could incorporate him in the Snakemen. He could be used as a hired Bounty Hunter. Therers different ways of bringing him without the movie.

I don't think that Saurod should ever be turned into a snakeman. The name Saurod comes from dinosaur. I think its cooler for him to remain an evolved dinosaur creature.

Whew! That is gona be one COOL figure! Never was able to look closely at his design. I mean, he doesn't do much but fail and get murt by Skeletor. Poor guy. Karg seems like he was in charge, and all he did was scream useless orders, so Saurod gets the axe? Karg was one lucky S.O.B.

Anyway, since the movie story would be a perfect story for after NA, I think Saurod should be a part of Lizzor's race.

I can't wait to get Saurod in the Classics line. He was one of the very few figures I didn't have from the original line when I was a kid. I always liked his design and thought he was the coolest character from the live action movie.

Wasn't Saurod forced onto Skeletor's side? I haven't seen the movie in a while. I kind of remember him as being just some alien who was unfortunate enough to be "requested" and then killed when things went wrong. I could see him as part of the Snake Men but I don't think they will put his bio that way.

I think Saurod is more accurately derived from the latin root "saur" which means "lizard". Dinosaur is latin for "terrible lizard" (dino or deino = terrible, saur = lizard). Since, evolutionarily, lizards and snakes are very closely related it's possible that Saurod could be associated with the Snakemen.

Either way, it's funny this thread came up now because I just got the MOTU movie on netflix yesterday and watched it for the first time in years last night. Saurod was always my favorite bounty hunter in the movie. Whatever Saurod is (Snakeman, Skeletor's henchman, bounty hunter, all-around nice guy...) he's awesome and he got so shafted by Skeletor. It should've been that weenie Karg who got vaporized.

I know that Saurod is supposed to be saurian. But as a kid, he helped to increase my Snakemen legion. He and Kobra Khan were brothers-in-arms, and sometimes actual brothers.

GREAT IDEA with the NA idea. with some of these "outer ring" characters, i would be completely up for the idea of using part of their ORIGIN to sort of bridge that gap between NA and old school. it would bring things together nicely. I also am for Gwildor and the cosmic Key being part of NA.

When I was a child I often had Saurod as a Snakeman to bolster their ranks but now I much prefer him as an Evil Warrior. He was my favorite of the three films toys made and the first I had. I always thought it was a shame Skeletor vaporised him!

I loved Saurod and Blade as a kid and am really looking forward to them.

Putting Saurod with the Snakes could make sense, but I never thought of him as a Snakemen. To me he was a different race like Whiplash, who wasn't a Snakeman despite being reptilian.

King Hiss could certainly use more henchmen, but I'd prefer Saurod on Skeletor's side. For more Snakes I'd rather see original designs, maybe a female.
But certainly not Snake Teela, more like Vipra from Bravestarr.

Saurod is probably my favorite figure from the end of the original line. I can't wait to see what this guy looks like in the Classics line. I personally never saw him as a Snakeman. Always thought he was more like a lizard. I like the idea that he's a dinosaur desendant.

I like to think that Saurod is a Snakeman who is not allied with King Hiss. Not all humans are allies with Randor, so why should all Snakemen be allies with Hiss?
