    Glad you liked it, MGM!

We're turning our eye on the latest MOTU Classics figure - Mo-Larr - in today's review at http://www.he-man.org/forums/boards/...itsalltrue.net

I had a lot of fun with that review. There are some figures that just make the reviews easy!

Whiplash arrived at that IAT offices today and his review is up now! http://www.he-man.org/forums/boards/...itsalltrue.net

My latest Spy Monkey order (the Dark Arsenal and the Toast-Orr Shield) arrived just before the weekend and I finaly felt like I had enough SMC Weapons built up for a small feature at http://www.he-man.org/forums/boards/...itsalltrue.net

I don't have all the colors featured, but I do have at least one version of each sculpt.

That's the only pic! She was just a quick kitbash for Mo-Larr's assistant! That head is normally used for my shopkeeper - her pictures can be found in the Weapons Pak and Spymonkey Creations reviews though!

    I liked that one too.

It's late October, so time for another review - Roboto has arrived and is up available now at http://www.he-man.org/forums/boards/...itsalltrue.net . He's pretty cool, all things considered, but I wasn't as happy as I could've been.

Great reviews Daniel Lynch- I hear ya on the Buzz-Off nostalgia issue and felt exactly the same on seeing Roboto (I'd wager on 'disappointment' with him...), but not so much with Sy-Klone.

You've hit the nail on the head; it's about the originality and ingenuity the Four Horsemen *can* bring to the line. And I kinda feel a 200x weapon for Buzz-Off and little painted circuitry for Roboto doesn't cut the mustard. Roboto was crying out for some 200x influences. That figure was such a massive improvement on the original that it seemed a given the Classics version would see some. Alas, no...

My Buzz-Off hasn't arrived yet, but the photos don't excite me. Because it almost feels as though it's just an enlarged version of the original. It's almost as if he's just, erm, grown- just like us, since being children!! I like the detail on the wings, the 200x 'legs' on his back and the modern-style weapon... But again, it's nothing new.

I guess this will become less of an issue, as we don't have many characters who appeared in the vintage AND 200x series left. Ram-Man has the potential to blow us away as he'd be an entirely new sculpt, but I'm preparing not to be overwhelmed by Mekaneck (which is a big shame as he's my favourite MOTU character)- I just hope they do something clever with his 'action' feature...

Having said all that, I look at a character like Beast Man and think how ordinary he seems as well...perhaps if he'd come out today I'd feel the same way as I do with Buzz-Off: lacking that little something that makes some of the others really stand out.

    ^This.

Mattel is lately seeming all too keen to disregard the indispensable talents of the 4H and what they bring to the table.

Anyone in the toy industry could resculpt the vintage figs.

Yeah, that's the thing: we already know exactly how Mek is gonna look in MOTUC.
The neck feature thing is what I'm hoping will make him "pop" a bit more than he would otherwise.

It's a good point, because maybe the 4H have been spoiling us with the new touches they've thrown in with Trike, TJ, Scare Glow, etc.

I do wonder how well Beast Man would be received this late in the line, but considering he was one of the vintage figures that IMO was fairly off the mark in execution (goofy head sculpt, messy paint, unrefined armor) I think he gets more leeway because he falls in the category of "showing us the character for the first time all over again".

That's one of the better Vikor reviews I've seen, well done. Had I seen it before I placed my orders I might have caved and got one. I still don't know that I would display him for all that long, but perhaps one day I'll think about adding him to my collection.
