Figures were $9 in the '80s here and the castle was $60 so reasoning by proportion the cost of a castle now should be around $140.

I can't believe some people are suggesting $1000. One could have bought Eternia MISB a couple of years ago at that price (which is a RARE VINTAGE toy). $1000 for a smaller playset that has just made it out of the factory is simply absurd imho.

That castle looks perfect! It has all the right proportions! Like others have said, I think it would be best if they made it in roughly 3 seperate pieces. First would be the front, like the one in the picture. Only mold into the two sides some kind of notch where they could later release the rest of the outer walls and have an attaching point. Finally release the floor and inner workings. If they did it like this I would be willing to pay $100 for each of the three sections. If they held off on bonus figures for like a 3 month span when releasing these pieces I think most could probably swing buying one because 3 figures with shipping would be nearly the same price. my 2 cents.

I think that Grayskull looks great! Frankly, I don't want a whole play set. This would already be huge, and I'd be very happy with just the front. Looking at this though, it makes me want a BAF-type Grayskull. I can see how you could do it with this piece. I broke the castle up in a way that, based on a sculpt like this, would be very easy to hide the seams.

What if they made a subscription around this? Let's say for 2011 you can get a standard subscription OR you can get a deluxe subscription. Instead of $20/month It'd be $30/month and you get a poly-bagged "ruin of Grayskull" that could be combined into the Castle! I'd totally do it.

Obviously my pic doesn't really deal with the ground... maybe that could be a bonus Christmas piece or something.

I hope they don't do it like that. Each piece would be worthless by itself. You'd still have to buy everything. If it were released in modules instead of pieces, people could more easily opt not to buy all of it.

I love this castle version, but the other one he made is much better.

Well this puts my castle to complete shame. lol Eh..I like mine but now this will push me to trying to come up with a way to do one closer to this look.
I would buy this castle in a heartbeat. The frint is fine..would not need an inside myself.

sigh..wish I had better skills like this man

That castle rocks! I could see that for display purposes, only having the front would be appealing. I would definitely love an interior with extra walls on either side. Wishful thinking, but whatever.

Does Matty realize yet that they are going to have to build us playsets and vehicles?
