This is getting outrageous beyond belief. I've got a $2600 a month mortgage, a $500 a month car payment, and 3 kids to feed. I make decent money, but with all my expenses I can barely afford to collect this line.

With these kinds of "extra" fees I'm about ready to bail on the line too. I just can't take it anymore. I mean, we are now talking about what equates to about $50 per figure. That's bloody ridiculous.

Thanks Mattel for sticking it to Canadian fans and not giving a flying you know what about the consequences.

Hey Balthus, I also posted on your thread on Matty. To be honest, I'm underwhelmed by the response by my fellow Canadians concerning this matter. If you guys haven't posted on there yet, please do so unless you want to throw your money away. Don't be a sheep. As far as I'm concerned, everyone who has posted on this .org thread should be posting on this Matty thread. Go to Matty, create an account and let them know you don't like having to sell your left ear just to cover some insufficiently explained "magic costs" padded over top of our actual shipping costs.

Everyone really needs to keep posting in this thread, we deserve an answer. Even if we don't like the response we still deserve to know why we are paying such crazy rates.

Okay... I just went to USPS.com to do a calculation on my package.... and it actually comes up to about $36 which is $2 less than I was charged from matty.

as per the shipping statements above.. i find it funny that Mail on the move/matty who ever is shipping our figures never states what the shipping actually is, i mean why is there no stamp on the top right hand corner with the price like when the everyday person ships something to someone else.

for all we know shipping for Matty could be 8 bucks to ship one figure but they are charging us just about 14, there is no way for us to verify which makes is a perfect time to take money right from under your nose because they say it's 13.75 but what are they actually paying the postal service??? MMMMMM

Mine weren't customs fees, it was tax and handling charge DHL charged me even though I chose international post

I have received 20 orders from MattyCollector with no problems, always using International Post. My Feb. Sub figures were sent through DHL for some reason, with a $10 COD fee. I emailed CS stating that I had never choose DHL and wanted to know why my order was shipped through DHL. The response I got from customer service was "here's your DHL tracking #xxxxx", no kidding. So I called Matty Customer service today and they really have no clue. My sub is listed as being shipped by International Post so they won't do anything until I send them a copy of DHL's bill(which I will fax). Not a big deal if it's a one time occurrence but, it sounds like it happened to lots of people. I hope to get a $10 credit towards my next order from all this.

I just got a pickup notice from Canada Post today. $14.45 COD to be paid by cheque (wha?) and I always choose International Post.

It is DHL GLOBAL MAIL...it is the mail...USPS is not the only game in town to "mail" a package - just like "MAIL ON THE MOVE" is a mail service as well...and they are very good about hitting the customs...

Sub Ram-Man and Jitsu arrived yesterday. With ZERO fees of any kind. As you can see, even tho my shipping method is International Post, the DHL postage is on it like everyone else's. What's funny is the shipping address is marked as Tillsonburg, Ontario, China......glad they got it right otherwise some chinese dude would be playing with my Rammy!

the part that i find so funny.. is Mississauga has a distribution center for Mattel .. why can they not send a large shipment directly there and then distribute to Canadians.. this way we aren't dinged high shipping costs and duties... i just don't get it.

It's because most of the "standard" CS people give canon responses. It's basically like talking to a computer.

You need to get a hold of someone higher up in escalations or something.
