I've never paid customs fees with UPS'd items. Just the brokerage fee. Back then (Hordak's release), it was only $3 at the door.
All summer this year, there was no fee.
Now, it's higher. But sometimes it's worth it.

So worst case scenario with UPS is you're already paying more for shipping to begin with, then you get customs charges and UPS' brokerage fee.
Ya I want the cheapest means possible. I can wait, and now that I know DR will track a lost package, as nice as getting an item fast is, I can wait.

I feel the same way. Especially with next year's price increase. With each non-sub figure over $20, every Matty shipment for me could get hit with customs (Canada Customs could randomly check any parcel with a declared value of $20.01 or more).
No way I'm running the risk of getting dinged with customs & brokerage fees with using the already more expensive UPS (even without customs & brokerage factored in) come 2012.
It'll be expensive enough for the new price of a figure, cheap shipping, and the potential of just customs on every purchase....

*knocks on wood* I've never been hit with customs yet, but then almost each month my purchase was just a singe figure (under the $20.01 threshold) anyways, and I lucked out by avoiding customs on few the times I bought either 2 figures, or a beast, or giant.

Got my sub yesterday. Usually it comes 4-5 days after BC so I was surprised it came so quick. Still waiting for BP She-Ra.

got my sub as well but i'm an MOC collector and the box was mashed

so i look in and see my sticker sheet has a giant hole through it.. the back or Snout Spout has a giant hole poked through the card and Swifty's box looks like he was chewing on it the entire trip from the US

hoping i can find someone loose collector to swap with but nothing yet..

    still waiting on she-ra...

P>S I really dislike the postal service..

There is a package waiting to be picked up on monday for me, I assume it's my figures and swifty.

So friday they arrived. I dont know why the post office has them, i hope there are no customs charges. Our mail lady usually just leave packages on the front porch.

UPS is now charging Bond fee $10 for them paying the customs duty for you when processing your package...same as every delivey service...a fee to charge you tax and duty. Was covered a few pages back in this thread.

My sub came on monday but I was in Las Vegas for a conference. Swiftwind has the correct legs but there is a small puncture in the back of his box. The top of the sticker sheet was all messed up but didn't actually wreck the stickers itself.

Picked up my sub on friday.. Took one look at the box and knew it wasnt going to be pretty. Opened it up and one of my Swiftwinds was completely destroyed. brown box has a huge hole.. white mailer has a huge hole.. SW's box destroyed.. SW looks okish.. the horn might be a bit bent. i didnt open it yet though, didnt want to deal with it at the time. I'm not looking forward to calling matty this morning to try and get it replaced.
