The Official Who's Left in MOTUC Thread (the remaining figures / characters)

I'd like to know what constitutes an A list, B list, C list, D list, etc... character? I'm sure whatever we think is different from what Mattel thinks. In fact I'm sure everyone's list would be completely different from one anothers when ranking the characters A-D list. Would be fun to see what everyone thinks though! I don't want to hijack your thread or anything, should we start a new one with thoughts on that?

Exactly! My A-list would be every single figure that was released during the original run. That would include the later figures like Mosquitor, Dragstor, ect.

For me, the remaining A-listers would be characters like........

Everyone else I would rank as B & C-listers, however I want them just

I'd say the A-listers are any character from the first two years (i.e., the 8 and 12 back characters), namely He-Man, Man-At-Arms, Stratos, Teela, Man-E-Faces, Ram Man, Skeletor, Beast Man, Mer-Man, Faker, Tri-Klops, Trap Jaw, Evil-Lyn, Battle Cat, Panthor, Prince Adam, Orko, The Sorceress, Hordak, She-Ra and King Hsss.

These are the characters that MOTU was built around.

Wow, A & B listers are really subjective then.

An A-lister list to me would include "principle" characters, or in my personal definition, anyone who regularly appeared in the storylines (books, mini-comics, cartoon series'). I guess then many people don't consider King Randor or the Sorceress as A-listers?

My personal definition of B-listers is the strictly "supporting roles" who appeared occasionally but had significance in the plotlines (in the media stories).

C-listers would be those who appeared only a couple or a few times and had very limited involvement in any storyline.

D-listers would be those who are at the bottom rung of the ladder. These would be characters that only appeared once without a significant role in media, or never appeared but got an action figure for some reason.

Ask a POP hater, and they are all D-listers, which would be unreasonable. I don't like Snout Spout and would consider him a D-lister, but he did appear in the toon, had significance in media stories, and has had an action figure and a staction. By my own definition, I'd have to consider him a B-lister, but I'd rather rank him a D.

It's all subjective.

Just curious, as 2010 has shaped up to be 200x heavy. I'm not complaining about this, but I'm concerned about the longevity of 200x in the long run of MOTUC.

Are there enough characters left to sustain a 200x presence until 2016?

I don't think MOTUC running out of 200X characters is as troubling as MOTUC running out of vintage characters.

Sortek might just be the most reviled character in the mythos...
Especially if we get a MOTUC-ized mech suit of 200X Battle Armor.

(I'm going to make more screen captures...I try to get pics of some of the more rarer 200X characters, places and things. The Council of Good is on my list, as well as Sor-Tek.)

The only ones I would not mind seeing from the 200X line would be Faceless One, Evilseed, and King Miro but that is it. All the rest in my opinion are not worthy to have a figure in MOTUC. I could go on and on about these lame characters.

I can't say I agree with you on all the other characters cited, but I agree with the Calix observation. Just how valuable a warrior could he have been, if Hordak is willing to disintegrate him for such a minor transgression?

Who knows what horrors Prahvus did in the Great Unrest until he got up to The Sorceress? Likewise, with Calix--he might have been quite the terror.

The moments that we see on screen aren't their only moments.

I could say the same for 90% of the Filmation character library that the majority want. But I don't because all those Filmation characters I consider "lame" have fans too. To each is own.

For the record, I would not want nor have space for half of the MYP characters listed. But one can dream.

Alright, you opened a can of worms here. Filmation characters are lame? Let's start with Batros a guy who was smart enough to gain respect from Skeletor and challenged him to a fight even. Icer another guy who was a potential threat. Even Plundor who many consider lame was a guy that destroyed a whole planet. At least the Filmation guys had whole episodes based on them instead of 1 to 3 minutes of airtime. But this is just my opinion and I am not starting a war here.

The concept of 'unworthy' has been used here in regards to MYP characters, and can it can easily be echoed back in this case

I agree about Calix and Prahvus btw. Overrated.
