Yep, time for new feet and legs!
I think we need some new parts.
Bikini Teela: Hottest version ever!!
Yep, time for new feet and legs!
As far as the re-use of Skellys Feet on other figures i'm OK with it in some cases. What I would really like to see is a Skeletor version with Boots (Normal feet) like the animations series. IMO it would be great having one more cartoon accurate.
New feet? Yes.
Hordak's feet? No
Look at the original figures. Skeletor (original) and Scareglow have different feet. Scareglow and Ninjor have the same feet, which look more "booted" than Skeletor's.
I agree with other posters that the Skelly feet are OK for barefoot characters but not so good as boots.
If we keep getting Skeletor feet on figures like Clawful, Whiplash, Buzz-Off and Ninjor I'll be very dissapointed![]()
I just wish they'd stop painting the toes when they are supposed to be wearing boots.
I want to see the buggy/crabby/monster legs and feet introduced. I want Whiplash, Clawful, Buzz-Off,and Stingrad!
The feet look fine to me. I understand that they're exposed feet with shin guards, no big mystery there. It will be nice, however, to see the bug/monster legs get introduced.
200X fan? Classic fan? What does that mean? I'm a MotU fan!!!
I think there are many ways to look at this. The toenails all look like they could be used as natural weapons in combat, which would make sense for these characters to have them exposed. The boot protects the bare parts of the foot. It is also possible that the "toenails" are spikes attached to the boots, or metal guards placed over their natural toenails for protection. It's all up to your imagination.

Thought it was a good time to resurrect this conversation.
Definitely sick of seeing these feet by now.
New "villain" feet sculpt introduced, please and thank you!![]()
I can only agree with this.
However, since post #35 there have been new additions to the shin and foot family.
I would like to see a bare foot set for Oo-lar... We already have the bare shins from Demo-Man.
Yeah, the introduction of the KK shins was awesome.
I just wish we had a second pair of feet that could've been interchangeable with the Skelly feet to break up the monotony a bit.
Maybe if the Whiplash foot hadn't been so specific, those could've been used for Khan and DB Skelly, and others . . .
Skeletor
Mer-Man
Zodac
Webstor
Scare Glow
BA Skelly
Kobra Khan
Stinkor
DB Skelly
Doesn't seem like a HUGE list, but with how little these characters have in common, I think it brings 'em down a little collectively to share such specific feet.

In "the companies" defence, MOTU has always been about reusing parts, more-so early on in the line. after '85 there was alot of individual tooling for each figure, it seems.
I have noticed that once in a while they try to change things up a bit so figures don't show the obvious reuse of parts... Like Stinkor's forearms. Those were newly tooled and were slightly different from the typical Skeletor wrists... Unfortunately they took it too far and decided to reverse them, making Stinkor look DUMB.
Yikes, yeah I definitely don't want them to go down that road.
I just think a little more foresight should be going into "unique" pieces in the early design stage so that they can be "shared" pieces.
Like the Whiplash feet could've been "fudged" a little to be reused beyond only Buzz Off and Clawful.
And as much as I love the figure, I don't really see the need for Mark Taylor Concept Villain to have had unique feet all his own.
As I said earlier in this thread (3 years ago or whatever, LOL) I still think that the LOOK of the figure should trump any "but that's how the vintage line reused the parts" adherences.
IF they have to use barefoot feet, then have them be BAREFOOT... the foot should be the same color as the leg. Like Skeletor or Mer Man.... if you want 3-toed boots... Then either use Hordak's or make a new 3-toed monster boot part.
Having boots with toenails just bugs me... It's one of the big 'fails' of using the Skeletor 'Card Back' version... it screws up every figure after him...![]()
Look at it this way....back in the Vintage line, all the legs were one piece, and had no options but use the same shins & feet for the selected characters....no mixing and matching could be done between the shins, thighs and feet, each of the legs had a set Boot & Foot, and never strayed from that....so that being said, MOTUC has much more variety between feet and shins / boot tops. All the figures though that had the 3 toe "duck" foot, have the 3 toe "reptile" foot now. And Whiplash had unique 3 toed feet then and now....but at least in MOTUC Clawful got the Whiplash feet, and not the Skeletor feet, so who knows. As I said before MOTUC style is whatever style they feel like it to be at that moment, staying true to the VIntage figure is not always the case....MOTU Clawful, had Duck feet, MOTUC Clawful has Whiplash feet....MOTU MAA had a brown loin cloth and boots, MOTUC MAA has Greenish Black Boots & loin Cloth....MOTU DB Skeletor (Dragon part), Khan & Leech had gimmicks and heads that featured open mouths....all but Skeletor's Dragon, have the same open mouth....so....????....
MOTUC style changes with the seasons and or time of the month apparently. What is accepted a year ago, is now Taboo....for a company that has been around so many years, it feels like they make it all up as they go, year to year, figure to figure, Q&A to Q&A.
I'm all for staying true to the Vintage figure / character art, it is what the line is and was originally about....but Stinkor could have been made to POP without jacking up the forearms, by simply adding Hordak feet to the mix, the forearms were new sculpts and should have been left well enough as sculpted. And yet they change the design of the Dragon head of DB Skeletor from the vintage look, they changed the MAA colors, and they just now got to the scaly shins that Skeletor had in the vintage line....granted....I like Skeletor to have the smoother shins, because it's that much closer to Filmation, but the DB Skeletor buck finally has them, which should have been on the first Skeletor Variant.

Hey Matty, let's FINALLY reuse the Beastman feet for Stratos! They have only been used once in 4 years!![]()
Jitsu should have had his 200X belt!!!
I would prefer Stinkor with Hodak´s feet but it is late for that. We have a few evil warriors ahead, just Ninjor whith that feet. So maybe it is the end of the reuse for that part.
I hope they will create a new feet for the remaining snake men. Something similar to 200x Whiplash would be awesome!![]()

Oh yeah I forgot Slush Head from my list earlier.
The difference with the banded furry boots is that they are much more generic-looking.
That, and they truly were used by so many vintage figures that it is a visual "calling card" of the line.
Also, the fact that they are boots, and used correctly as boots, unlike the Skelly feet.
So a true valid comparison would only be if Mattel painted the furry boots fleshtone.

I wish they had made the 80s style feet with the one toe sticking out the front and one pointing out each side. The only character left I can think of who used them though is Ninjor and on him they never seemed that appropriate. I wish Khan and DB Skeletor had had them.

It is a valid comparison, because the argument is that the feet have been used over and over, and while that is true, the boot feet have the most use, skin tone or not. And Skeletor's feet have been correctly used, they were used to replace the duck feet from the vintage line, therefore they are being used right....at least for the vintage figures, but I do agree that Slush Head could have used the Hordak feet or something, since he was not vintage. The only difference is that some of the duck now reptile feet, were painted in the Vintage line where some Classics are not, and vice versa. Point is, they have been used correctly, regardless if other options were available or not, the VIntage figures with the duck feet, were translated correctly into Classics using the Skeletor reptile feet.

I never thought about this til just now. However, i find it funny they painted Stinkor's nails but not the straps on his boots. It's rather dumb they went that route.
