FONTS - TV & Packaging : All in here

This thread does not endorse sharing pro-fonts for free.
Fan-made fonts can be shared, but you must prove you have
    made them yourself.

Purpose here is to give out the names of the fonts from packages and shows for those who are seeking to purchase them.

    • ITC Serif Gothic [HE-MAN MOTU TOY PACKAGE + CARTOON]
    • Friz Quadrata [SHE-RA POP TOY PACKAGE + CARTOON]
    • Behaviour Good [MYP TOY PACKAGED]
    • Trek aka Sonic [MYP CARTOON TITLE CREATOR NAMES]
    • Handel Gothic[MYP CARTOON TITLE EPISODE NAMES]
    • Harbour [MOTUC TOY PACKAGE]

And here are links to some, if you are interested in acquiring them.
The MYP toon-credit font appears to be the same as used for credits
on Star Trek: Deep Space 9 -show. Thus it may have different name.
    **Updated She-Ra's font.

    - ITC Serif Gothic
    - Friz Quadrata
    - Behaviour Good
    - Harbour
    - Handel Gothic
    - Sonic
    - ITC Benguiat

I think you are mistaken on the She-Ra font. As far as I know, She-Ra used Friz Quadrata.

Another font to mention would be Baldur. It was used in the I Have the Power music video from Filmation.

    Chris here...

Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!

I've been wondering this exact same thing, and was going to post up a thread asking about it! I will have to save this thread so I don't lose the information in it!

I wish fonts weren't so expensive to buy - if they were just a couple of dollars each or something, I'd 100% get these for some of the Photoshop work I'm planning!

    Take care...

MOTU Classics is an amazing toyline, and collecting it should be fun. Let's try and make a difference.

I'm pretty sure the original logos were hand drawn. I know Emiliano recreated them from scratch for the DVDs.

    --edit--

Oh, and Jukka, we used Avant Garde on New Adventures.

    Great thread!
Ah, the good old day where I gathered all these information looking for fonts with no other info the the packaging themselves!

As BCI Guy said, all the original logos where hand drawn, most of them airbrushed.
All the logos in use now for POP, NA and original MOTU are digital paintings I did in Photoshop.
I had recreated some of them for MasterUnbound many years ago, then we have been able to update and reuse them for the DVD.
The new She-Ra one was requested by ER, so we pitched our idea and they liked it!

Ahhh...great thread Jukka!! thanks! I've been searching high and low for the name of the new packaging font!!

I've also recreated the MotU one...would like to do the rest myself as well still.

NOTE: They changed the capital "E" when they digitzed ITC Serif Gothic. It used to be a rounded "E" back then.

Use a "C" and a "-" to get that Round "E"...maybe, you'll have to change the size of that "-" to make it fit.

I did some reading up for the MYP Cartoon fonts:

The "Trek" font's official version is: Handel Gothic
The secondary credit font is: Sonic

this scan is the best i can do until i remember to charge the batteries for my camera.

i forgot there were 2 fonts used. while i'd like to know the one used for the names, it's the font on the left i'm really interested in.

some of the more unique characteristics include: the o isn't closed on the bottom; the n has bottom serifs that only point out; the tops of the "humps" of the m aren't level with each other.

sadly, none of the font websites with features to find fonts were of any use.

I haven't found the "name" font yet, but the one on the left is called Fandango

    Hey Folks,

There could be an update already posted about this, but I did some digging around for a font as close to the Main Title font of She-Ra. After cropping out the drop shadow effect of her name, I found it similar to that of the font known as LibertyD. Granted the original publication font had a solid state H, the opening sequence and the new anneversary font has her H with a slanted hyphen in the center. Liberty D has the horizontal hyphen. Also the R is solid and not broken at the center, the A is also not slanted. HOWEVEr, its the closest I have found. It also contains added tails but otherwise I think its a decent match. If anyone was a font master and was able to adjust it, who knows we'd have exactly what we wanted!
