Frosta in MOTUC Discussion thread

After watching the POP episodes I have to say Frosta is my favourite of the rebels (after Adora/She-ra), especially in the eps where she is in love with he-man

I would definetly but a Frosta figure when they finally release one

I may be the only one who found this slightly disappointing but I didn't quite like the stripper tan used for Catra and I sure hope Mattel does not repeat this with Frosta if she ever gets made.

IMO Catra would have looked a lot better with a lighter skin tone similar to her appearance in the filmation cartoon and other illustrations.





So far no female figure was ever released pale and I have a feeling if Frosta gets made she may look like a blue haired Malibu Barbie, I really hope they stay true to the original character design and for me that includes their skin tone.

I think there was just too much expectation from fans that this "3-pack" would be for the MOTUC line. Everyone got their hopes up for all kinds of things, and then we got this Polly Pocket set. It's a different type of thing altogether. I'm glad they made it. It's nice to see something different. I just wish I hadn't gotten my hopes up for more figures.

I would LOVE Frosta. But, I have a feeling this can go 2 ways.

If you see the Polly 3 pack, we get She-ra, already in the classics line, Catra, coming this coming month and deco'd the same way, and now we see Frosta, who we have yet to get in the classics.

Now, what I mean by this can go 2 ways. Since we now see how Frosta will be presented in the polly series, we can expect her to look similar with her similar weapon (which is great cause it's also a filmation/style guide look). I have NO problem with this.

OR, to throw us off, it's interesting to see who else is on the cover of that polly series that is NOT included in this set, Princess Glimmer in her filmation/style guide colors holding her rose wand. Who knows, Maybe we will get Glimmer as our last female in MOTUC? Although, I really would LOVE Sorceress, which will probably 10% NOT HAPPEN because we got Marlena this year.

EXACTLY! That's kinda weird…Hordak wearing a "Hordak mask". I don't get it.

I don't think Frosta will look identical to the Polly Pockets version. She'll surely have more detail as you've said Darkspecter, maybe some toy influences.

Since I have no nostalgia for her, I don't care how she looks, but I DO hope they decide to add in some sort of ice weapon/blast or something other than just the staff. I'd love to see an ice spear or sword or an ice shield. I mean, it would be cool to get another weapon, but I think it would be much cooler to make a translucent ice accessory.

However, Polly-AS-She-Ra and whoever-AS-Catra ;ook like the styleguide art transposed onto the PP "bucks" AS DO the She-Ra & Catra MotUC figures onto the MotUC female buck.

Plus, there's the now the WTFWTK answer that basically says "the main version of the She-Ra characters will be primarily cartoon-based. If toy versions are done at all, it'll be as variants later".

Yup. And as for her gloves (which she should have), they should be sculpted like the Hordak/Zodak male gloves rather than pointlessly filigreed.

I have a feeling we'll be seeing her a lot sooner than later. She is one of the ideal POP characters and she had a great personality in the POP series.

The 4H don't really need to do too much with her. The thigh high boots could easily be reused on other figures and some females are going to need the gloved hands and arms.
