Frosta in MOTUC Discussion thread

If we lost the sculpted, pointy nipples, I personally will be happy...because I didn't like that and thought it sexualized her. Bow had a heart-on his crotch, The Mighty Spector has "SEX" on his bracelet. This is a toyline, not a triple 'X' movie!

The bow thing again? he doesn't have an intentially sculpted heart on his crothch, people disassembled bow to show that is the case. whatever imprint is there (on mine) it's SO faint, even staring at it I can barely see a thing. the sex bracelt though is definitely a real thing.

but truthfully what's wrong with her having nipples, the male characters have em, I don't see it 'sexulaizing' the figures either. here's the thing, I LOVE women's breasts and of course the nipples, but there are women and gay men who feel the same way about men's nipples. it's the exact same body part and if we are being biological about it, men's nipples should be more sexualized as they have no functional purpose outside of it feels good when they are played with. Women's have a very necessary purpose. I mean I know it's not presented that way, but if you break it down that makes more sense. now a big phallic bulge or a camel toe would be a different story...nipple imprints, not so much.

Exactly! The Bow "heart" has been debunked a million times a million different ways. (the Spector thing is real... Not sure what to say about that...)

But the male figures all have nipples apparent. I don't see it as sexualizing the female characters any more than the males, honestly.

They said it was not sculpted, but caused by an indent from the internal mechanisms. Doesn't Bow had the same crotch as every other male underneath? If so, why do Flipshot, Slush Head, etc. not have a heart indent on their crotches? Same materials and parts, should = heart indent.

I can't go into full details here (Tar Swamp territory), but I will just say the nipples on Frosta is sexualizing her because she's wearing CLOTHES. The men show theirs because He-Man is shirtless and Mattel re-used the torso, so we all guess Eternians LOVE spandex. Also, female models have icecubes rubbed on that area to make them hard during certain photo shoots...to SEXUALIZE them!

Just saw the pic of her chilling on the chair with Spector...and here are my qualms:

-It looks like they gave her She-Ra face, with those (insert swear words here) pouty lips!!! WHY do all the MOTUC women have to look like they're about to blow bubbles from between their teeth?? UGH. I hate it big time. Lips open, or lips closed 4H! Not this weird in-between!

-Her white is now off-white. WHY? Are they doing this in some misguided attempt to dull the bright colors, and in so doing, make them "fit in" with the He-Man characters? I really disliked the darker Weaver outfit (maroon when it should be red) and I'm going to hate this grey Frosta instead of white Frosta. Come ON now.


I'm sorry if I sound grumpy, but Mattel keeps doing stupid things and it ticks me off more and more.

All the figures are scultped with classical ideal of the human form, something we tend to find....SEXY!! so in their very essence the figures are ALL sexualized, but again as I said I LOVE female breasts and nipples, as I said women and gay men can feel the same about men's i've seen nipple imprint in the summer out side, hell mine show constantly! (tmi I know but they do) anyway I should know better than to argue pop with you pop fans, I can't match your passion and logic against my own logic. I just get frustrated because IMO you guys are very particular with every last detail on the PoP toys. And I try to show you that the massive mountainous problems you see really aren't that big a deal, but I usually fail, I don't see every little detail on things I love, I'm not that thorough about anything.

Oh wow. Seriously? They've totally mucked up her hair and her outfit. She's Frosta - the Ice Empress not the Slush Empress! And the translucent hair looks awful. My God.

Mattel's decision makers are odd. I don't recall anyone asking for Frosta's hair to be translucent after the original (street walker inspired) reveal. I do recall some fans (including myself) asking for a translucent cape like Jewelstar. Why did Mattel decide to give Frosta translucent hair? Was it another decision by Mattel's inside design team to make the figure "pop".

And same for the dull white of her costume. They improved BP She-Ra's "white" (as requested by the fans), but didn't think that the same concerns would apply for Frosta? Anyway, it's not like I'm not going to purchase Frosta because she still looks pretty good and The Great Rebellion desperately needs some more members. But it is disappointing.

I think I might try to paint her hair like the prototype (translucent hair is odd), but I don't think I can do a good job at painting all her gray parts white. :S

So is the head resculpted ? Because her lips seem heavily reduced and she doesn't have that charming smile anymore, she's more clenching her teeth now.

Well, in a way it makes sense. Take out your classic Frosta figure if you have one handy. I'm almost 100% positive that her "white" from back in the day is what we're getting here. I don't recall the classic toy ever being super snowy white- it was an off-white just like this. I think...

also I just noticed above that they have lost the paint app on the collar of her Cape....Not liking the hair at all, methinks they got carried away after the MH team gave a Doll solid translucent hair...it fails there too!
