I'm loving Frosta. I really like the hair. I think that's a really nice touch. I just have to find a sword for her to use.

Woot-woot! CoolToyReview finally got their MOTUC SDCC pics up! Strange the back of her top is white though.

These make Frosta look amazing. Can't wait to get her. Still hope they address the issues with her hair though - translucent just doesn't work...

She looks prettier to me in the pics that Darkspecter posted than in any of the other ones I've seen.

The translucent hair is really making me want that for a variant Tallstar. (in red)

I agree to everything you just said! She looks SO pretty in these pictures. I just hope the white is Bubble Power She-Ra white on the final figure...and that the back of her outfit is blue, not white. If it stays as-is, it's not a deal breaker, but it would look better blue.

I need to get an extra Frosta for her legs...

Okay, so i guess you have an extra Sorceress for the headgear and the top plus Evil-Lyns Cape.

But which arms for the opera gloves? Also Sorceressī?

Nope. No extra Sorceress or BG Evil-Lyn cape yet. For her arms, I'm thinking upper BG Teela arms and the lower arms of the Sorceress. Best we can really do at the moment. It will probably take me quite a while to find/afford all I need for her, but I REALLY want the Enchantress!

I was at the Comic Con and I have to say that the translucent hair looks really good in person. The photos don't really do it justice. It basically doesn't look translucent unless it is backlit. It looked really nice and made her look very special.

There was a slight blue wash on the translucent hair material that didn't make it see-through.

The one SLIGHT tweak I think that they should do is to add a little more of that blue, non-see through wash on the bangs so that the forehead doesn't appear through the hair, as this was the only slightly weird thing about it. Other than that it really made her... POP... on the shelf... lol

    She's looking better than before!

Also, they need to make her hair closer to Filmation i.e. same as blue parts on wand.

Thanks to the forums at mattycollector.com, we now know what Frosta's hair will be like.

According to Toyguru: "It is slightly clear but only if you hold it up to the light. Itis a very subtle effect."

I'll have to reserve judgement until I have Frosta in hand, but if it's so "subtle", I have to wonder why they even used translucent plastic in the first place. Was it a cost-saving measure so that they could make her hair and wand in the same factory?

Thank goodness it's only another couple of months (and then another month for shipping) until I'll (hopefully) have Frosta!

I hate to be mean....but the 4Horsemen just aren't great at sculpting these gal's faces. They all look really odd - She-Ra, Frosta, Teela. There's something so vacant about them, and gaunt. And the smile? That's not a smile. It looks like they're showing off their teeth or something...

It's strange. The only face I was immediately impressed with, or thought was really good was Netossa's.

I think the gauntness you speak of makes them look more warrior like, especially Teela. And I never thought of this figure as smiling, but just looking damn sexy.

You are not mean, you just calling it as it is and to be fair, the prototypes (except FROSTA!!!!!) always look so much better than the finished face, so who ever is in charge there is not helping either.

Adora as a figure looks good, her prototype was beautiful, Jewelstar was pretty at her prototype now she looks awkward.

Netossa for now is gorgeous letīs see what happens to her once she is finished?!

Yeah, not sure it's so much the 4H's sculpting versus the production paint apps not living up to their potential. I'm waiting to see Frosta in-person once she's all done. I don't think she's quite THERE yet in the pics from SDCC.

Yeah, Adora's face was so much nicer than her production version. I think it's the way the eye's were painted. That one bothered me enough that I have left her carded and boxed since I bought her.

I disagree only in that Adora's face is incredibly beautiful with no hint of the 'horse/monkey-face' syndrome that many female action figures suffer from. The fact that she came out great in spite of the hand-painted one of a kind nature of these figures is a minor miracle IMHO.
    Harken the coming of Dragstor!!

My point was that her prototype was better, which it was. I didn't say the production version was hideous, just not as good as the original.

You forgot about Starla. The prototype face shown at SDCC 2011 was very beautiful. The production figure was cross-eyed. Seems Tallstar was the only one in that set that came through unscathed.

Sherry at 4H does a wonderful job painting the prototypes (except for Frosta, but that was a rush job, so...), but something is definitely lost in translation at the factory level. It happens with the guys, too, but it affects the look of the girls a lot more.

I'm really looking forward to seeing the reviews for Frosta as well. I'm not too happy with her mouth the way it is but otherwise, I like her.

Actually i didnīt forget about Starla. I didnīt mention her since my point is not the paint job on the faces itīs the final sculpt and in my opinion Adora and Jewelstar simply havenīt the same faces as their prototypes.

My guess is, it must be really hard to sculpt such a small item that itīs a 100% match but iīm not a sculpter or anything. Just an observer and customer.
I canīt even look at Jewelstars prototype, seeing her face and than turning to my shelf looking at that simply different face saddens me...

But Starla on the other hand, i donīt get why her paint applications are so wrong, her hair has almost no wash, mine has an uneven lip and i donīt know where here eyes are looking at not even one looks to the front...

What ever the FOUR HORSEMEN did with her face, i donīt know what they were trying to do and that rushed paint job on the prototype didnīt help either...

With all the delays, the protytype face, the translucent hair issue, the not white, than again white still slightly grey white outfit, it makes me a bit nervous but in the end i know i will love her.

She is a fabulous character. So please Mattel send out those review samples
