On Saturday, I noticed that the crotch piece had broken on one of my figures. I've glued it but she doesn't have full leg motion anymore.

The second figure I bought still seems to be OK - for now.

I had the same thing happen to my Iceman. The pelvis shattered completely while I was posing him. I eventually got the newer version that comes with an icesled to replace him.

I'm just praying my Goddess doesn't end up the same way...

I guess it might be possible to switch parts with a spare Teela, but i'm not sure how to go about it.

The right leg fell off on my Green Goddess the other day. I called the number and should get an email soon. If it does not pan out, who else essentially lost 30 bucks? We should petition or enact some sort of class action nastiness. Evil only wins when good does nothing.

Wow I'm so glad this thread was bumped as I was considering picking a Goddess up from Ebay. I guess I'm not even gonna bother wasting money on her now, I think I dodged a bullet there.

My Green Goddess' leg just snapped off!!!!

I picked up my Green Goddess for the first time since Dec to put her into a new pose and the leg just snapped off. ***??!!! I mean the pieces keeping the left leg into the body just fell off and look as if they were not molded properly. This is bs!! How can I fix this? Is there any way to take the abdomen or the dress off?

Sadly I'm afraid this is going to happen more and more.

The Goddess is made of a very brittle plastic. (most clear plastics are extremely brittle/fragile.)

They never should have used that plastic for her hip piece that doesn't show, for the most part that's where the problem has been.

Of the two Goddess figures I have, one is ruined because of this.
So you can imagine, I don't mess with the other Goddess' legs much at all, so far so good.

I am sorry to hear this. I can imagine how you feel - I would hate it if my Goddess was damaged like this. Moreover it is a rare figure. That is why I better do not pose her at all - especially after I read all the horror stories on the he-man.org forum.
I wonder if Mattel will re-release the Goddess and fix her. I really like that she was included in MOTUC (one of my favorits) but the quality of the figure is dissapointing.

I have one also, and am keeping my fingers crossed this doesn't happen. Seems like they should have just bronzed her since she will essentially be a statue.

Wow, thanks for reminding me not to touch my Goddess figure. I've not moved her legs around too much anyway, mainly because she can't even attempt a sitting position with that stupid leaf....

This needs to be drawn to Matty's attention. The poor quality of the product coupled with its high price and short supply are unacceptable. I still have not received an email about my Green Goddess. If one does not show by Monday I will be seeking alternative routes to exact atonement, be it Better Business Bureau or legal action. I HAVE THE POWER Mattel.

The Goddess was the first figure that had a translucent body, if I am not mistaken. While the fact that her legs brake up so easily is something that needs to be taken care of, I am sure Mattel have noted this and will fix for the reissue. She's a wonderful figure and with a little care she can be enjoyed as much as any of the others. The leg on mine did brake and I managed to glue it back and she's fully functional now. We should not forget that these are adult collectibles meant to be displayed not to play with at doing gymnastics.

Well, the good news is I fixed her. However, this is still completely unaccetable that a $20 figure breaks easier than a chinese bootleg $1 figure.

When I was setting up my figures yesterday for the new display, I took extra precautions with my Goddess due to this thread.

2 of the 4 I got have now broke, I did not even do anything be try to straighten her leg

One I am giving to a friend and the other I just used a crap ton of suger glue to re-attach the leg.

But I am pretty sure this will happen to close to 100% of them if people try to do anything with the legs

Since this is quite a common problem, would it be a good idea to ask this question to Toyguru in our Q&A's. It doesn't seem to be an isolated incident.

Would they reissue GG's to all who had issues, but perhaps fix her pelvis to be a more stable plastic.

I doubt it, but you never know.

Why not make the waist section from the standard plastic used on the other female figures? is there any need for this bit to be the clear plastic?

mine broke too, no need at all for the torso to be molded in translucnet plastic. I'm waiting on my replacement but when I get her I'm NOT moving her legs at all!

I will add my name to the list of guys who had the goddess break. Her leg just came off the other day. The crotch piece just broke off as others described. Bummer.

I hope someone brings this thread to Mattel's attention, I mean it's not LIKELY they'll do anything about it, but no harm in making the problem heard. the hope though slim is that we get a rerelease of better quality, or at the very least they never use the brittle plastic they used for the torso again.

    Not Amused!

    Greetings He-Fans

I have a sad tale to tell.

Yesterday something awful happened. I have my MotU figures posed on my drawing table at home. Now I did a stability check ,when I posed them, by rocking the table to see if they would stay standing which they did.

So yesterday all of a sudden, Tri-Klops falls against The Green Goddess, knocking her to the floor. Now my other figures which stand atop my computer desk have fallen as well and they are still ok. Not the Green Goddess. Her fall was not high nor was it a hard landing. But upon impact her leg broke off. The piece inside where the leg pin attaches into was obviously already cracked. So now I have a legless goddess.

Glueing the piece back together will most likely prove futile as it is an awkward spot and if I were to move the leg it would most likely break again.

I know there have been many orgers compaining about how fragile she is. I have learnt first hand.

In conclusion, I would like to offer my skills to any orger who feels they could help me out. I will gladly do some commission work in return for a new Green Goddess.
PM me if you can help out.

    Thanks guys

Clear plastic just isn't good enough. I've had the same problems with other action figures and I recently has a Clone Wars Hologran Grievious break on me too because of the same problem.

My Green Goddess is sealed up in a plastic container in my storage bin. I knew right from when I took her out that the plastic was bad. I have a bad history with it.

I'm now worried about the SDCC Orko.

I sent them an email via the customer service link on mattycollector. When nothing came of that I called 1-877-466-2889 and told the rep my situation, ie I moved her and her leg fell off. The rep told me she would send the issue to escalations and I would receive an email in a few days. A week later, when I had almost resolved to call back see what the hold-up was since no email had arrived , i received a order confirmation. They discounted her and added free shipping. Thanks Mattel. Let me buy an Evil-Lyn today and I could begin to forgive you for that Trap-Jaw incident,.

    What to do? :(

Ok, so some of you might remember a couple of months ago my Goddess Figure's pelvis crumbled and her legs fell off (as happened for many others).

I was lucky enough to get another on eBay for less than $20.

    It broke today.

Except this time it's even worse. I never tried to mover her legs tobtge sides. She just broke, for NO REASON.

She is one of my favorite characters and I want one that isn't faulty and a piece of junk.

There are too many of us that this has happened to; and it will continue to happen. I'm wondering of the weather changing had anything to do with the plastic shrinking or expanding. That is ok on other figures but this one is made of pooooor quality plastic.

I started a new thread because I know Scott reads these, and I wanted to ask you all to post here if one or more of your Goddess figures has crumbled.

I have two broken at this point.

    +2

Mattel has to make good on this and rerelease her made of better plastic and a softer armor.

A 2-pack perhaps to deflate the cost? She could be a DCUC / MOTUC 2pack re-do. Please, Scott. It's not fair that we've spent this much money and have broken figures, let alone of a character some of us have wanted for over 25 years!

    Please??
