Because the MYP Moss Man was more humanized than the vintage one... he was not savage at all... and this newer version looks savage. It's not that it's bad - just different.
    Its bad......

The SDCC version looked like he was covered in model railroad grass...the final version is perfect, and really looks just like real moss.

SDCC version for me. The final version looks like winter weather warrior Moss Man. You know he grows more moss on his body before heading to the ice mountains.

Four Horsemen prototypes always win out, but I like Mattel's longer loincloth decision.

sdcc all around, this new one bugs me. i don't mind the color change had they kept everything else like that one. longer loincloth sucks.

    I like them both.

    - The SDCC Moss Man is really great and looks like a 200X Moss Man.
    - The Finalized Moss Man is great also and looks like a 80's Moss Man (So much more as a Classic figure)

I hope Mattel will release the SDCC Moss Man as a 200X version of Moss Man in the future.

So in fact, I think an other interesting pool would be :
Who would buy a SDCC Moss Man after the release of the Finalized Moss Man?
    - I would for sure!

The only things I preferred on the SDCC Moss Man werde the brighter colors and the free ears. Aside of that, I prefer the final versions' flock.

I don't like the final version that much...I prefer more vivid colours and less fur on it.
I would buy it anyway as I think it is a great character, but the SDCC gave me more excitement on this figure.

i did like the SDCC version better but i accept it. The majority did want this and i have faith in the 4H work. Moss man and Wun-Dar were the reason I got the 2010 sub in the first place.

Please? There's no chance we get SDCC Moss-Man. Sorry

    How do you know this?

But clearly, there's no contest against the SDCC version. The only redeemable value the final version has, is the longer loincloth. Put that loincloth on the SDDC version, and you've got an A++ figure.

I like the longer loincloth too…works really well on Mossy!

And I voted final version. These figures ALWAYS look better in person! Plus, there's nothing wrong with Moss Man ACTUALLY having moss on him…
200X fan? Classic fan? What does that mean? I'm a MotU fan!!!

I love the SDCC figure way better EXCEPT for the loincloth. Keep the newer loincloth and we'd have a perfect figure.

I agree. the longer loincloth fits mossman much better and sets him apart from Beastman (although I think BM would have looked better with the longer loincloth too).
I like to be able to see the detail in a figure that's advertised as 'highly detailed', but unfortunately all mossman's detail is completly lost with all that flocking. To me, they over did it.
I like my warriors looking like warriors, not cuddly teddy bears. i am glad they didn't take away any of the joints though, but they just went overboard with the flocking. it's too thick imo...
keeping it thin like the SDCC version would have given him a mossy texture without overpowering the detail of the sculpt. Now he looks like Stephen King's character from Creepshow.

I'm sure he'll look better to me when I have him in hand, just like Scareglow & Randor did.

EDIT: looking at it again... the only thing about the final version that bothers me is his ears are covered up by the flocking, which I hope can be scraped off easily. Otherwise the final version doesn't look too bad, imo.
