Thanks for the review of this fantastic figure. To be honest I think this wasn't your best review. Sorry, but you missed the armor piece on Kronis, even though his left arm is removable.

I do hope we get a modulok out of this buck.

Another good review. Like I said in the message thread for BA He-Man, it's great to see you interacting with the figures. It seems to add to the overall experience.

Something to point out that all of the reviews seem to have missed. When the Kronis arm pops in, you need to push it in and "up" slightly. This will avoid the gap between the shoulder and arm that Dan, Fwoosh and Actionfigureinsider all pointed out. (not to knock your review Dan, just want to make sure everyone knows the arm can be pushed in correct without a gap).

Also, the reason his "arm" is painted metallic blue is indeed this is armor he wears over his arm. If you look at the sculpt of the arm (even on the vintage figure), clearly it is not flesh do to the rivets and mechanical details. The Horsemen opted to paint it metallic to indicate a section of armor Kronis wears on his arm, and we loved it!

As for the scar, that was a 2002 thing. The Horsemen are going for a pure vintage look here.

Finally, the "The Original" burst was a factory error. All of the figures going forward are having both a first and second release package art file designed together just in case we want to pull the switch and do a second run. In this case, for our PR samples, the factory accidently printed the art for a potential second run. We quickly reminded them that this art file with burst "file B" is for a second run only. For the production they switched to the standard first run art "A" without the burst as you'd expect. Since we couldn't sell this small early batch, we sent them out as PR samples.

It is just easier to create both the first run "A" and second run "B" package art files for all figures at the same time so we can go into a possible second run if needed at any time. All figures have this starting back with Tri-Klops. (we had to create new art for He-Man and Skeletor since they never had a second run package art file waiting.) It doesn't mean they will all go into a second run, but at least we have the art file if needed!

    Hope that helps!

    TG

Trap Jaw is simply amazing. He was always one of my favorites as a kid. This new version is absolute perfection.

    Hey Dan, great review
I was just wondering if Trap Jaw has mid-shin articulation between the knee and ankle? or is he like Beast man?

    Thanks

I really like that it's painted differently. I like the armor on his arms, plus, it will probably just make it look unique compared to a different paint scheme on another figure with the same arms.

Excited to find out what other figures will utilize the removeable arm(s) buck.

Dan, are you getting a sample of the re-issue beast-man? If you do, and even if there are no changes, could you still do a quick review?

Thanks for the clarirication on the arms, TG. I was concerned about the gap. My excitement for this figure just increased from 10 on a scale of 1-10 to 12!

Yeah, armored arms is the first thing I thought of when I saw 'em, so it's nice to see it confirmed, at least! Thanks for the info!

All right, I have to say, I have never been a fan of video reviews for figures no matter what, even yours Dan, but your review for Trap Jaw was simply incredible. It was very detailed, very specific, and it did not become boring as a lot of other toy reviews have done. Plus I loved how you compared him with the previous TJ figures.

    Sweet!
So Dan, have you tested what Toyguru said?
    About the arm sockets?

That's cool that both arms pop off. I like the two arm bands with that little bit of a 200X look. But it's super cool to know that you can remove the band on his left shoulder and have a completely classic Trap Jaw if you so desire.

Amazing work all around with Trap-Jaw!

BTW, is it Feb 15th or 16th? Toyfair says the 16th, Matty says the 15th. I'm more inclined to figure Matty would be the best choice, as I do not even know why it would be on the 16th.

Pixel Dan, could you possibly take some pics or Kronis using this new information from Toyguru?

Good to know. I'd have hated the gap. Hopefully we'll see Hordak and Modulok use this in the not to distant future

I think people are having problems with the metallic paint because it is too close to the color of his flesh. I think most people know that it is armor, however i believe most would have preferred Trap Jaw toy to resemble the non armored arms from the cartoons and comics. Trap Jaw has rarely been illustrated with the "man-e-faces" arms.
"Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments" (Matthew 22:36-40).

Did the filmation version have the scar then? I do seem to remember it in the childhood days somehow. I know the MYP 200x one did, but I thought I remembered it from somewhere in the old days.

Awesome review once again Pixel. Just saw Adora and Ba He-man's as well and I can't wait for all of these figures.

About the metallic blue arms, I think it's only the armor parts that's metallic. If you check his biceps, they seemed to be flat blue like his torso, but the back arms' metallic as well.

Yes Dan, here I am again to annoy you about the updated pics or video review (which is what I would like to see) for the Kronis arm fix that TG mentioned
