    Toyguru video interview

    http://www.he-man.org/forums/boards/...influence-motu

Has some interesting stuff mentioned in it.
    • Moss Man's ears will be flocked, too late to change it, plus fans hate variants.
    • No one online has guessed the celebrity SDCC figure.
    • Due to the epic complaints about Adora, we didn't see the figure.
    • The MOTU movie appears to definitely be happening.

Thanks for posting this MGM! And thank you ToyGuru!

And that's great news about the movie! I hope it makes Transformers look like a kids movie and beats G.I. Joe with his own rifle.

We have to remember that this interview is from the opening of the art show... and I don't think that Mo-Larr had been talked about much (if at all) by that point.... It wasn't until after the show that the Mo-Larr rumors really started in full swing.

Maybe TG can clarify that point, but from everything else he said, it sure does sound like stinky Mo-Larr.

he talked about how he loved the humour, and this figure figure would be something out of the box, i immediately thought of the so spoken mo-lar, which seems to be a dentist in robot chicken?

I have to agree. Mo-Larr is the only one that fits the criteria of what Toyguru put out there about the "celebrity" figure.

EDIT: I'd love it if the celebrity figure turned out to be Xena.

No, for sure it's Mo-Lar there were folks in "the know" @ the art show who blurted this out rather conspicuously. And yes as someone had said, Molar wasn't talked about till after opening night, when this interview took place. Truth be told I'm totally fine with it, I don't want it, never will, and therefore will save money on purchasing it. It probably will come with tons of dental accessories.

QFT. Once I had Adora in hand, she was as awesome as when I first saw the figure from SDCC 2009 pictures. It is quite a difference seeing online pictures and having the figure in one's possession.

I'm way grateful for the video.

Ugh, it does sound like Mo-Lar doesn't it? Grr.

BUT!! Positive note: He mentioned using the saddle for Panthor and Clawdeen! That's exciting!!

Could it maybe be Lubic from the movie? Movie celebrity? No I'm sure someone said that already and I doubt they can even make a figure of him. It would be funny and many people like him in the movie. I don't know, I have know idea...

ToyGuru if you read this, could you tell if the two Comic Con figures will also go on sale early August just like He-Ro did last year? Or will the "funny" one be just an SDCC Exclusive and the other "serious" release also go on sale online? Like Keldor or Count Marzo for instance?

Indeed - I was underwhelmed by the online pics, but when I got the figure last week, I was really impressed.

I also have to chime in on the Mo-Larr thing - I think you have to backtrack to the time of the interview; since we started talking about him after the show's opening, I don't think TG's comment applies to him.

TOTALLY AGREED ! Adora is AWWWWESOMMMME !!! Wow, I received the figure today and it was electrifying ! That's the most Beautiful Figure of the Line since the beginning !!! I didn't feel that since the first release of He-Man in the Motuc line....
In addition, Adora was one the faster sold-out on MattyCollector !! ))
I hope we will have lots of POP Figures.... Female are AWESOME ! I can't imagine how will be She-RA !
    Thanks MATTEL FOR ADORA !

The video is from the opening before Mo-Larr was brought up.

I'm not saying it is Mo-Larr, just that the information in that video might be out-of-date.

    Well spoken.

I liked the tease about the accessories. Nice to see a corporate exec with a sense of humor and one who is -- as the French say -- "comfortable in his own skin." (Sounds better in French.)

This is a tough one, because for all we know, had the fans not complained, we'd all have cross-eyed Adoras.

It's easy for them to say "Oh no, we would've caught that and fixed it . . ."

But look at the backwards shoulders, the oversized crotch piece, Moss Man's flocked ears, and so on, that were NOT caught and corrected.

I think fans *SHOULD* get an early look at figures.

And if TG is so worried about fans getting "upset" at early reveals, simply include a disclaimer.
Something like, "Hey this is NOT the final paint job on Adora, her eyes WILL be fixed."

And then if fans still complain about the eyes, they'll be appropriately flamed for not knowing how to read.

That will teach us to have a opinion on something that isn't exactly what they want it to be.
