    I don't think an action feature is necessary for Hurricane Hordak in the way that I hope we get action features for Man-E-Faces and Mekanek.

    He-Ro's metallic gold could work well on a Hurricane Hordak. 3 (or more) attachments is definitly the way to go.!!

    Hurricane Hordak Appreciation Thread

    Since some folks here start appreciation threads about figures they'd like to see show up in MOTUC, I thought I"d start a thread on one of my favorite variant figures that, unfortunately, I wasn't lucky enough to get as a child: Hurricane Hordak. I always a big fan of his back in the day. I loved his gold armor, which was similar to the vintage Flying Fist He-Man and prototype He-Ro figures and I love that arm of his. I guess it was because it was similar to his "arm cannon" on the She-Ra toon. But his attachments were really cool, especially that shield with the claws/pincers attached. I hope that in 2011, instead of getting variants of He-Man and Skeletor, they can throw in Hurricane Hordak into the mix since Hordak is an A-list character that had 2 variants in the line, though, I doubt we'll see Buzz Saw Hordak in the line.

    I love Hurricane Hordak, He was the only Hordak I had as a kid. He was just much more interesting looking than the regular one, and he had the arm cannon.

    Yeah I wouldn`t mind seeing him, Buzz Saw on the other hand is just basically regular Hordak with an opening chest (when action features and AF sculpting are removed). When his chest was closed there wasn`t all that much difference from the first Hordak

    he was basically the original with gold armor instead of black armor and he had the arm thingy. take away his arm thing, paint his armor black and he`s regular hordak again

    HH was the only one I had. But there's no need for me to a Hordak variant

    I think Hurricane Hordak had his own Vintage Figure, so he really deserves a MOTUC version.

    i do agree with most of the previous opinions:
    - gold armor like he-ro;
    - all the 3 attachment (the bat like blades could be detachable, as single swords);
    - ok, but with the rotating part only inside the forearm, preserving all the articulation.

    also
    no cape;
    short loincloth (or even he-ro's one);
    2 extra attachment: arm cannon and buzz-saw ('cos i don't believe will have another variant);
    and removable hands (both) like roboto.

    here are gbagok's redesigns, for reference:

    Oh those look awful to me now!

    I don't know about Hordak variants in Classics, they don't offer much without their action features and even those aren't the greatest. Hurricane Hordak might work out well since he at least has a new arm. But Buzz Saw Hordak? He's the same figure with a hollow chest. He had a great mini-comic, but the toy never appealed to me. I'd rather let the Horsemen invent their own new variants for him.

    i do agree with you (well, except for the opinion on your redesigns! ):
    that's why i think it would be a proper choice to merge the two variants in one "fully accessorized" figure with the saw moved from chest to arm.

    Biowise they could use the Techno Virus as why Hordak cna do that... Probably after Skeletor nearly killed him... I mean defeated him; Hordak was forced to inject the techno virus on himself to survive...Or maybe BOTH Hordak AND Skeletor were infected with the Tecno-Virus. Skelly gets his NA look (or his Laser Light look) while Hordak gets his "Upgrades"

    Hard to say wheter he should come with metal armor or not as I never owned the vintage figure. But I am not against it. The shiny metal armor can actually look very cool.
    The most important thing is that I would like him to come with extra normal hand like Roboto does. For me Hordak is a powerful evil sorcerer like in MYP cartoon and there is nothing techno about him. I would like to see the different armor but I would not like to display him with the "huricane" attachments.

    Actually the white-metalized crossbow from the first weapos-pack would be great for huricane Hordak. It might fit the metal armor (whatever way they do it).

    For those of you who did not own a Hurricane Hordak back in the day, I want to point out that he had an entirely new chest sculpt, with the gold armor being the actual chestpiece (rather than the removable one of the original figure). This was, of course, necessitated by the action feature "spin wheel" located in his back. Since MOTUC Hurricane Hordak will almost certainly not have any form of action feature, I imagine a gold-colored removable armor will happen instead.

    There is a huge
    potential in this variant, so he is a must have for me:

    1. capeless cowl with the option to switch that cowl with the orginal figure...

    2. new shiny, golden armor will look awseome on him...

    3. the attachment thing... He will get new attachments, but he can also use repainted Roboto/Trap Jaw attachments, which ensure many possibilities of combinations...plus The Hordak attachments could be repainted for Roboto and Trap Jaw, too...

    a buzz saw attachment would make also sense, to represent the Buzz Saw Hordak variant... it would look cool with Roboto or Trap Jaw, too...

    I really think, repainted attachments (also possible for other figures, like Spikor) could lift the whole weapons pak thing to a better level...

    I loved Hurricane Hordak as a kid but I'm just not fussed about him in the Classics line and as others have said theirs not much point in Buzz-Saw Hordak.

    Hordak with gold armor? Don't feel it. He's a dark character now, not the Eternian M. A. Barracus

    Hurricane Hordak would be a good addition simply because he's likely as close as we can get to a Filmation version. The whole arm attachment idea was basically an adaptation of Hordikin's techno-morphing ability on the show, so I think this would have a lot of appeal to old Filmation fans like me.

    Give him a removable regular arm and then a cannon-type arm you can plug attachments into.

    ^^^ This!

    I'm all for the vintage Hordak variants re-made in MOTUC - especially Buzz-Saw Hordak. I love that figure! I fear some people here have lost their sense of fun.

    Musings about Hordak variants

    Presumably, if Mattel are going to cover all bases with MOTU Classics, and do create a figure for every one in the vintage line, then at some point they're going to have to think about putting together two additional Hordak variants, to cover Buzz Saw Hordak and Hurricaine Hordak respectively. Of course, from a design standpoint these figures are identical, aesthetically to the originally-released Hordak figure, and rely purely on their action features, which is something by and large the Classics line doesn't do. Whereas with Terror Claws Skeletor, where presumably there may be fan interest in seeing a classicized Skelly With Claws, there is no reason why we would need either of these two Hordak variants.
    My first question is: is there a general fan interest for a Classiced-Up Terror Claws Skeletor? I know BA Skeletor is incoming, just as BA He-Man was, and I think it's pretty sweet to display on Panthor, and just have the standard Skelly standing at the front of my shelf.
    My second question is: Should new Hordak variants be released in place of the two vintage ones? The obvious choice would be a blue, 'Filmation style' Blue Hordak (Yeah, I know, the 'F' Word!) but my personal choice would be 'Horde Apprentice' Hordak, similar to how he was seen in the flashbacks in Secret of the Sword. I think that would kick ass!

    Well hurricane Hordak is pretty much filmation Hordak in grey skin with Gold armor.
    the "style Guide" Hordak could be combined with the Hurricane Hordak.

    BTW Terror Claws Skeletor is not Classic Skeletor + claws.

    Buzz Saw Hordak is well... He could be done with a Snap On Armor (like the Palace Guards/BA Figs)

    Buzz-Saw Hordak is pointless.

    No action features in the line = regular Hordak with a new accessory = no point.

    Hurricane Hordak is a maybe, but Styleguide Hordak is a definite future variant.

    I'm looking forward to Hurricane Hordak.

    Of all the 200x varients, the only ones I liked were Fire Armor Skeletor and Ice Armor He-Man.

    Once those came out, I was hopefull to see Hurricane Hordak, as together they formed a sort of elemental theme. That led me to also hope that if they created a King Hsss varient, he would have some sort of Rock theme to round out the set...

    Okay, maybe I over-thought this a bit, but I still want a Hurricane Hordak at some point.

    Ill line up to buy Hurricane and Buzz saw Hordak variants, They dont need Working features. as long as the get new armor designs!

    I wont buy a 'Style Guide' Hordak, so I hope they do him as a DC 2pack (but lets face it after the 'She Ra' One tanks in stores......I cant see a wave 4 happening!) so Its not forced on us Via Sub!

    ka
    I may just be a Gay Pop fan...but I am also the one who wants ALL of the Figures, who wants this line to continue and who is putting my money where my mouth is....are you doing the same?
