His physique looks much better on the actual show.
When I saw pics of him he wasn't as beefy as the original guy.
And as to who I date has nothing to do this discussion, now does it? We are talking about actors and gladiators and how one should look.
Besides, who are you to judge? The one who throws cat litter and ammonia on people?
Obey the whip!
Smile like you mean it.
His physique looks much better on the actual show.
His leg brace came off in season 1.
I've really been enjoying this season and the new characters. Liam is okay as Spartacus, he can't replace Andy but he acts the role well. A bit young maybe, but otherwise he's doing good.
Episode 5 was ludicrous and over-the-top beyond anything I would have ever imagined they would do. Pushing the boundaries of fictionalized history to crazy limits. But damn, it was awesome. Poetic, even.
Illithyia still makes me sick. The only good thing she ever did was bar the doors during the slaughter. I wish Lucretia had stayed dead with Batiatus as originally intended, but I'm sure she'll have her vengeance before this season is over and that it will be worth it.
Ashur is a damn fine villain.
I'm really enjoying the series and think Liam is doing just fine as Spartacus, however the new actress playing Naevia really annoys me for some reason.

Once again this show delivers in exactly what everyone who watches wants: blood, sex, bravado.
Conan Stevens AKA The Mountain makes his debut, but loses a face off against Spartacus, uniting a bigger army.
Gannicus chooses glory over power and freedom.
The plotting between Lucretia and Ashur remind me of Cersei and Little Finger from Game of Thrones. Whose going to win at the end?
Onemous will train the rebellion. Awesome. If it's Gannicus, Spartacus, Crixus, and Onemous together, that's basically 4 of the greatest champions in Rome against Glaber's army.
We also got to see some awesome woman on woman action. Mira is such a bad ass, but is starved of Spartacus's embrace. Naevia I'm liking a lot more now that she wants to go the path of Mira, a warrior contributing rather than getting by on a man.
Great show. Makes the Walking Dead looking like The Sitting Dead.
So, is that it? Is season two already over?![]()
Yep last episode was last night, and it what an ending! Now we have to wait to 2013 for Season 3!!!
I just watched it. A great finale, but not as feel-good as the 1st season finale. So much death!
I had a feeling they'd kill off Mira, and was sad when they did. I knew Glaber would go, but I expected it too much to take a lot of pleasure in it, unlike Batiatus' death.
Ashur, I was not expecting. Nor Oenomaus. I knew he died early in the war but I thought they'd bring him back for at least a few episodes in Season 3.
And I've been waiting all season for Lucretia to take her vengeance on Ilithyia, but I don't think anyone could have guessed what she did. They might have even crossed the line on that one.![]()
(Seriously, that was messed up).
Every villain is dead! So, goodbye to the Batiatus/Glaber enemies, for good. I assume Marcus Crassus is up next.

Ilithyia is dead according to the show creator/producer. It's a new beginning.
Also In the next season of Spartacus, Simon Merrells will play Crassus, the richest man in Rome, who craves the power and respect that would come from defeating Spartacus.

I'd really love Ilithyia in the next season

Lucretia cut the baby out of her. Pretty difficult to survive that. Plus she would be stuck in the house with Spartacus and the rebellion. That was one of the best endings between two characters that have been playing a very sick game with one another.
I think they should have carried Ilithyia over into season 3, as well as Varinius - historically, he was defeated by Spartacus after Glaber, not before. They could have had the two of them together, even if only for a little while, for the sake of cast continuity (there are like 2 cast members left from season 1) and historical accuracy.
But, for all I know they have epic things planned and not enough time to film it all in. I'm guessing this will now move towards seeing the rise of the 1st triumvirate, and then people could watch Rome for a sequel of sorts to see their fall.
In the next season of Spartacus, Anna Hutchison (“Cabin in the Woods”) will play Laeta, the privileged wife of a Roman dignitary who becomes entangled in the struggle against Spartacus.

YOU READ MY MIND! I SENT HER A TWEET TELLING HER THE EXACT SAME THING A FEW WEEKS BACK WHEN SHE ASKED ABOUT WHAT PEOPLE WOULD LIKE TO SEE HER DO?
Yeah the Director mentioned there was a slight budget issue (And timing cause the episode was already in post) CGI'ing some blood that was to trickle down and out of her mouth so you knew for sure!

'Tis the wind and nothing more.....
The next Spartacus series will be called Spartacus: War of the Damned, and it will debut in January 2013. It will also be the last series because Starz has cancelled the show.

Well to be perfectly honest Spartacus story is a short one in History, 3-4 seasons is about right
Not to mention almost every series from this time period has a short run due to budgets, look at ROME on HBO. Rating were high but costs spiraled in S2 and it could not sustain that into a 3rd season

Sad...
But glad it's not just cancelled with nothing else to come. Still a season to look forward to next year, and I like the title quite a bit.
I don't know if they can do it properly in 10 episodes, it'll be really condensed. Plus I think they're in production? If the cancellation is a new decision that might bugger everything up. If they're only doing one more season it would be nice if they would move it back up to 13 episodes, or even 12. Wishful thinking, but still.
Hope they give us a proper ending, unlike House.
Disappointed to read this just hope they give us a proper ending and don't leave it on a cliff hanger that will never be resolved.

Kim and I were into the series in Season One, but we fell away from it. What's available on DVD or on-demand? We've got Comcast.
Thanks.
