I don't think so. I believe all of the Star and Marvel stuff has been stated as off-limits (at this time, at least).
Could MATTEL not make figures based on movie characters on how they appeared in this comic? Karg, Beastman, Air Centurions and Black Troopers all appear in it.
In the comic, Karg is mentioned by name. He looks similar to how he appeared in the movie, with a few minor differences.
Inside the Comic, it says "MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE: THE MOTION PICTURE." Published by MARVEL COMICS." It goes on to say "MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE and associated trademarks are owned by and used under license from Mattel, Inc. Copyright @ Mattel, Inc 1987. All Rights Reserved." There is no mention of Cannon films in the Comic.

Not to sound like a creepy cheerleader for Uki, but it's nice to know there is at least one person on this forum who is extremely positive & friendly all the time. I don't think I could be that nice even if you paid me. If we ever give out awards for "forum member of the month", Uki gets my vote. -Mr. Shokoti

Why do I believe that Krag is actually a 'she',
and not a 'he' as everybody keeps saying?
Issen't (s)he refered too in the movie as a female?
Am I totally off here?!

It's not a vintage toy, a 200x character or a character from the minicomics, so sadly, no, it can't be made. ToyGuru has made it very clear what can be made in the Q&As.

i think cpt. atkin is arguing that this particular comic appears to present a loophole for certain characters, e.g. karg and movie-beastman, because they appear there under mattel's copyright. he-man, teela, and man-at-arms are in that comic too but they were drawn in their classic style.
When i was a kid I did actuall thinkse played Karg. Weirdness.
See I'm a little confused about all this who cna be made etc, still. Toyguru has stated that they don't have thr ights to make characters from the 80's film. However Blade, Saurod and Gwildor were made into tys.
Now can they be MOTUC'ed or not?
As fo Karg, I always wanted one, but I'd rather have amovie Karg than the comic one. I'll hold out![]()

At less casting Kang male http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0869951/ but i always thought he was a she and yes would love a toy of him one of the movie chacters i wanted a figure of.
Hahaha... I never thought of Karg as a girl. I just thought of him as an ugly dude with bad hair. Although, of all the bounty hunters, he seemed to care about his wardrobe the most. I think it's safe to say he was a bit of a prima-donna.

From what Captain Atkin revealed, it is clear that Karg might be produced in MOTUC... IF Mattel really WANTS it.
I'd say that Karg is one of those characters whode status we're not really certain about...
But since Mattel said that out of Blade, Saurod and Gwildor, other movie characters were out of the maps, I guess we might (alas) never see a Karg figure...
Note: Karg is definitely male. The long, big hair thing doesn't mean he's a female. Those who believe so are probably 80's ignorants, or too young to remember. Back then, the "big hair" movement was huge in the US (and even elsewhere), for girls AND for boys. It was especially present in rock music (feathered cut, hairspray etc.).

Who are you calling ignorant? ... that's rude!
It has nothing to do with the characters big hairdoo!
Besides, I don't think 80s glamrock fashion had much
power on Eternia!
I think it's a female, because I believe I've heard it somewhere,
and she is very tiny, and has a female voice.
The character was played by Robert Towers, but still, it could
be female ... I think so anyway!

That 1987 movie book is a MARVEL comic. Mattel is doing stuff for DC now. We'd have an easier time getting the DC comic characters than any of the Marvel based characters.
I wonder does that extend to concepts as well? Like Blast Attack being a rowdy cyborg, Rio Blast and Snout Spout being partners or Clamp Champ being Randor's bodyguard?
Clamp Champ was King Randor's body guard in the mini comic "The Search for Keldor." Nothing would stop them from having Rio and Snout Spout as partners, as they are both heroic warriors. As for Blast Attack being a "rowdy cyborg", I don't imagine that would be a problem, as that's just a character trait.
