MOTUC Strobo discussion

Looking at a 90% completed Strobo custom on my desk I should probably finish before they release an official one.

Whoo Hooo!! Finally! Mattel has rights to Magazine characters and Strobo can be made into a figure!! Now, how long will I need to wait until we actually see one?!?!?!

I have to admit, I giggled with glee when I saw the picture of him from the Mattypalooza panel!!

I would like him sooner rather than later. When i was young, i made one from a yard sale Sy-Klone and a yard sale Zodac. Wasn't very good, but it served it's purpose. I speculate that Strobo is somehow going to be involved with the NA stuff in some manner given the closeness in appearance to Sy-Klone and Zodac.... Maybe..... I know they aren't NA but when Icarius' bio said they recruited other Masters.....just a thought.

So, we know Strobo performed quite poorly in the recent poll for the candidates to the soon-to-come SDCC subscribers character vote.
This is probably due to the undisputable 'plainness' of the character, which comes as a not so popular variant of an already not so popular MOTU character.

BUT...

What if they made his real name Zeelhar?
And what if he came with a second head for Zodak, i.e. the black bald one that was cut out from the original release due to budget restrictions?
Or with a belt with a longer loincloth like the one the 200x figure came with, to be placed on MOTUC Zodak just like Fisto's 200x belt?

This would really put Strobo under a different light for me, as he would gain a recognised role in the official canon (or at least in the 200x one) while also helping in providing extra parts for Zodak (much like a 2.0 version).

I would be really looking forward to such a variant!
What do you guys think about it?

Zodak has had 3 variants already, I think we are done with him

He isn't really a Zodak variant, though. He only shares his head. He's more of a Sy-Klone variant, if anything.

I disagree. I would like to have more Cosmic Enforcers. They should give him a head that's different from the other two.

Um...if sharing parts makes one a variant of a character, then this line has about three unique people in it.

Strobo deserves his own release! I think he did poorly in the polls because of the stiff competition. Supporters of Hawk, Illumina, etc. really went to bat together. I'd happily plunk down for anyone who was in it.

(Even Tug.)

Strobo represents a new Cosmic Enforcer-I'd love to get bunches more of them-at least ZodaX, Strobo, and (Mystic) Zeelahr. Add in a female and I'd be thrilled!

Definitely a Strobo! And to tweak him a little they can change the arms and legs slightly to give him a lil more!!!
And as an accessory... a staff with a Disco Ball attached!!!

I'm still hopeful that we will eventually get an official Strobo figure to add to our collections. In the mean time, it's fun to see custom figures and bios. What's interesting to me about Strobo is that we have next to no info about this character, which in its own way is a good thing since fans are more encouraged to dream up whatever background we'd like.

Btw, I totally forgot to link these images here. The cape is from a Marvel Select Dr. Doom, and the gun was crafted by masterenglish. He-Man biceps, Sy-Klone body, Zodac head.

Glad to see this one! A very nice surprise! Can someone tell me more about the green rock that is included with him? I'm afraid I do not own the magazine he appeared in. Is the rock featured there?

He does look great and I too would like to know more about him. I had initially thought of him as a pass but he has grown on me. Plus the added new Zodak head that will come with him makes him an even bigger draw for people.

Yes, Strobo and the meteor appeared in the final issue of the US MOTU Magazine (issue 16). It's a piece of the Dark Star, which almost caused the destruction of Eternia. Strobo saves the day by using his powers to destroy the fragment. You can read a synopsis of the story in the publishing section.

I'm not that interested in Strobo but I do want the unhelmeted Zodak head, so I'll be picking him up.
