i'll be picking up the set regardless because im a MOC completist, but mattel really should've went the extra mile and made superman in the classics style. big let down.

Wow...I'm really sad Superman isn't the same scale as MOTUC figures...but that 2-pack looks amazing!

One thing that hasn't been mentioned:

He-Man is NOT holding the yellow/golden sword in the package! He's attacking Superman with his axe! He does have the grey shield with black dots though. No Power Sword in sight.

In other MOTUC news...Optikk's green eye looks totally different than it did at Gallery 1988! The orange eye and everything else looks the same.

    - original look: brown ring with black detailing, green centre
    - new look: green ring with black, or very dark green centre

Not sure how I feel about the change. I like both though!

The article in toyfare says it's the first DC VS MOTU two pack their allowed to mention.

Implying that more two packs are coming.

So this first one I understand...but what is the reasoning behind more?

I think the person who said Skeletor vs. Superman would be correct. Kind of lame to get TWO Superman vs. packs though.

Well, this will be interesting. I'm not going to buy that 2-pack since I already have both of those characters and the comic appears to be in Mini-size. But interesting never the less. I wonder who will Skeletor be packed with?

yeah, can we get some info from Toyguru, or whoever as to why the superman was not done on the MOTUC body? that would have been all sorts of awesome.

Finally saw the pics and decided to work the the two pack news into the weekly comic strip over at my blog.

    Some thoughts...

-I don't think the sword is included here.

-This has nothing to do with SDCC, so Superman is not the "celebrity" figure.

-I wish Superman were MOTUC scale, but I do like the packaging a lot.

-$30 is too much since a lot of fans have these figs already. I guess it's good there is nothing I "need" in it.

The 2 things that make this figure look odd IMO are the yellow bracelets and the pink on the belt. I think he would look great with a metallic orange belt with metallic red circles and then gold painted bracelets. I think that would be a good compromise.

In the comic only Skeletor has the "yellow" power Sword. He-Man has his axe in the battle so.... I just dont see how Skeletor is going to come now. Another Superman 2pk would be a waste. We will have to wait and see I guess.

Just saw it. The packaging looks pretty sweet!

Mattel / DC, if you're listening, please do a She-Ra vs Wonder Woman [and the Star Riders] 2-Pack with a reprint of the Kellogg's Mini-Buns comic. Even though She-Ra never featured in that comic, it makes sense because the toy line was heavily influenced by POP and would have even reused the molds for the horses and Clawdeen.

The package in the HEMAN vs SUPERMAN is awesome, but Im going to pass. I don´t want another Heman, nor another Superman in my collection. The only reason I would buy one is Superman in MOTUC style. That would be very great, but Mattel don´t want to spend on new tooling.

I really want the minicomic reprint. That is very cool addition.

That scale differential really bugs me. Maybe they can do some sort of cross-company set with Hasbro and pack a MOTUC figure with 3.75" G.I. Joe, too!

I agree with many posters, that if this brings MOTUC to retail then it can only be a good thing for the line. Increased exposure, means greater profits and that translates into a better tooling budget. And may even move MOTUC Ram Man up the schedule.

Personally, I'm going to have to decide in the next few weeks how much of a completist I want to be with this line. At the moment I've been working on the principle of one of each different figure (I open everything). Faced as I am now with flocked and non-flocked ears on Moss Man, Pink-Belt He-Man and Yellow-Face Skeletor I need to reassess my position.

As good as retail sales would be for the line, selling these figures at retail opens the floodgates for variants. If all previously released figures get re-released at retail with slight deco changes like this He-Man, then do I really want to pick them up?
