I have heard that the figure is rotocast but I'm not 100% sure it's official yet. Rotocast is essentially hollow on the inside, and they use rotocast to make bigger toys cause it's cheaper to make. But because it's hollow on the inside it may be harder to articulate like a normal figure. IIRC some old toy biz rotocast stuff had double jointed knees...
But it's to keep the costs down a bit as well all around i think.
