I have heard that the figure is rotocast but I'm not 100% sure it's official yet. Rotocast is essentially hollow on the inside, and they use rotocast to make bigger toys cause it's cheaper to make. But because it's hollow on the inside it may be harder to articulate like a normal figure. IIRC some old toy biz rotocast stuff had double jointed knees...
But it's to keep the costs down a bit as well all around i think.
It looks to me like its got 9 points more then most vintage.
I just wish he was taller.
Can anyone tell if he's got ball hips or just a t-crotch?
$40 for a rotocast figure without ball hips may just equal pass for me.

I am definately passing. Reason being: The vintage Tytus was a cool idea, and it is cool in theory because it is a hard to find vintage item, but to release this figure at the current time for $40 doesn't sit well with me. I could buy 2 motuc figures for one of these.
Also, it looks like a lot of tooling went in to this unigue sculpt... why couldn't we have gotten a small vehicle like the sky sled instead??
This might have been a bad investment for Mattel, especially at that price point.

He's going to be $30.
He's "Beast #2" of 2010
Gygor is #3
and someone else is #4... we will see that at SDCC
His articulation is decidedly 200X style... and his loin-cloth looks like 200X style fur-design. I mean, I know it's probably not a 200X proto or anything, but I am surprised by how much he reminds me of that.
A bit disappointed in the lack of shoulder articulation.. particularly when the DCUC collect and connect figures have shoulder articulation (and bicep artic for that matter).
Still love him though!!

There is no way I'm passing him up! I love it..
big geek
If it's 40$ then yes like i said it's probably rotocast, rotocast can be made for much cheaper production wise than regular tooled figures.
It's spectacular figure tho i don't get the negativity twoards it? a couple of missing joints, but that totally does not matter to me in the least. I'd rather get this awesome figure done like rotocast for 40$ then get one made with a few extra articulation points for like 70$.
Toy biz made some really kick ass rotocast figures, that i'd say were on par with the 12 inch icons stuff they made it can be done.
Interesting, the original has an open left hand, the new one has a fist.
I don't know about everyone else, but out of all the big reveals today, I think Tytus is 100% perfection like the King Grayskull prototype was. A+

On a side note, now if there doing rotocast i can totally see it being used to make Granamy.
Yeah, I'm buying this guy for sure. Awesome bio
I think he looks great, I don't mind that he's a little shorter than the vintage version(I don't want He-Man to look like a Smurf next to him), but I'm in the minority with the bio. While I don't hate it, it's defintely one of my least favorites. Although, what do I know? I loved Evil-Lyn's bio and there were a lot of people that hated it.
