I'd try again--don't take anything the employees tell you seriously. And Mattel only sends product that stores order from them, so if they don't carry them it's not because they tried to order them and Mattel said "Um, no...we're going to send to all other TRU's, but not you." If the store wants them Mattel will send them.

U know what's funny. We complain that we don't want any repaints of figs. Then we get them, and we are all scrambling out to stores to get them. I just think it's funny. I too can't wait to get them. We are a funny lot!!

I hate repaints. But if they make them then I will get them.

I think Mattel is really using this DC vs MOTU to determine interest in MOTU at retail. I’m thinking that when all is said and done, there should be as many of these sets as there are Batman vs Clayface, or Superman vs Brainiac at retail now. I don’t think Mattel can determine what interest there is for the line at such a limited availability. As of now, TRU can’t keep these on the shelves(or get them on the shelves) but, I think as time progresses these 2 packs should be available.

Worst case scenario.. they are never available to those who want to buy them.. Mattel would then consider this a success and move on to step 2 of their MOTU at retail plan. No Availability = Success in Mattel’s eyes.

Agreed. Mattel is clearly testing us. They sent out the trickle to get the word out and then a rushing river (OK, 5 each a box at best...) will show in near-future shipments. Those will sell out quickly, but not instantly and when they see the empty shelves BOOM! Orko vs. Bat-Mite everywhere.
    There's the door, spaceman.

    Funny, and true.

I think MATTEL could re-release HE-MAN in undetailed, solid black plastic, and people would still scramble to buy him.

Heck, a lot of people that don't even want the damned 2-packs are buying them.

Do you guys think the initial rush on these will survive a few restocks? Of course, since it's TRU we're talking about, I guess restocks aren't a given, LOL.

Yeah.. I do. This is a brand new SKU that gets it’s own peg or two. It’s not like a random DCUC figure that nobody will notice is selling better than the rest of the wave. It is it’s own product. If the employees and management notice that this product arrived in the store at 9:00 AM Monday, and was sold out by.. 9:30 AM Monday. They should know they have a product worth re-ordering. I think this thing will be on US shelves sooner or later!

But I could just be optimistic.!

I spoke with a very nice lady last Friday at my local TRU who looked up the UPC numbers for each 2-pack for me, provided the SKU number for me and stated they were not in stock anywhere within a 50 mile radius. She then told me that they were getting 2 trucks this week (Tuesday and Thursday). I went back today (Tuesday) and they did not come in on the truck and the guy who checked also said they were getting another truck this week but it didn't look like they were scheduled to be on this truck either. *sigh* Hopefully next week!

    Great idea Ze-Ro!
More people should email TRU to get them to sell online

    Be sure to tell them the SKN/SKU numbers;
DCU VS MOTU 2PACK FIGURES 29.99
    SKU# 027084832914 Superman vs He-Man
SKU# 027084832921 Lex Luthor vs Skeletor
    or SKN# 422333

I also emailed them at: Toys R UsContact Form

This is the response I got back from TRU:
    Dear ...,

Thank you for contacting RUs.com. We really appreciate hearing from our
guests, especially when they make us aware of an item or service they

Checked out two out again and no shelf tags yet, does not mean they were not put out and bought but at least our TRU have not set a place for them.

Hopefully that gets them online, most other TRU exclusives are carried online so I do not see what limits this one (outside of availability)

Sounds like their production for these at retail is the same amount of production for their website.

I can hear the Mattel statement now, "You knew what retail store carried these, and you knew what time the store opened. You should have been there then".

I called my old TRU today and they were not on today's truck, not expected to be on the Thursday truck either, although my old pal encouraged me to call back then anyhow.
Not to sound like a creepy cheerleader for Uki, but it's nice to know there is at least one person on this forum who is extremely positive & friendly all the time. I don't think I could be that nice even if you paid me. If we ever give out awards for "forum member of the month", Uki gets my vote. -Mr. Shokoti

I find it hard to believe these are being found without an official date, especially the hiked prices and Paypal within 48 hours, can you say "scandel" !

Unless these are found personally within the 4 locations around me, and all the "shill" happening on E-bay, my patience will have to persist!

Maybe someone is feeling good and can help me locate these without having to fall back on E'b...
