If this image made possible the figure MOTUC of Adora (1),
then the following thing can make real, among other things to Shadow Weaver.

Is that the image that allowed Mattel to create Adora?
END OF LINE
It's been said many times Shadow Weaver is not possible by Mattel at this time. Is this art something new that it's possible they've never seen before? If so, that would be interesting.
Needless to say, looking at this art made me realize, EVEN if she came and was done in this style, she'd have almost no articulation (arms and head only) due to her costume. Not that I would mind, but it never occurred to me before..
Yes it is.
Those images are from cards made in Argentina. I don't believe the images of Shadow Weaver, Madame Razz and Broom and the Twigetts are in the Styleguide.
There may be more licensing kits/Styleguides not online, but they are not in this:

I would love all the characters if they are possible though!![]()

This said to me.Thanks to this image, there was no problem with Filmation.
Couple of questions.
1. Where would you find a set of these cards?
2.Was there He-man set similar to this one?
3.Is there an online place to get the larrger images of these same versions?
Hordedestiny:
1-This set of cards was made and commercialized in Argentina
2-Lamentably not
3-I do not know
I Have that Argentinian Cards!
I think the Argentinias mixed images from diferent sources to produce that Card game, because I also have a little book with all the original styleguid art and there is no shadow wever in ther nor maddam razz
But Mattel has stated over and over that they do not have the right to Filmation created characters. This includes Shadow Weaver! I'm sure if there was a way for them to get around this without having to get the rights to MOTU & POP Filmation rights. They would have done so. Where's Emiliano? The man with the knowledge of these things?

The key is that according to the company that make the cards, Cromy, the card game is of Mattel
Looking at all those pictures makes me realize we definitely need a skinnier (less amazon) She-ra figure.
The Adora image is taken from the Mattel Licensing guidewhich Mattel own outright. That card game would have been licensed by Filmation and Mattel in the 80's.
The difference is ones an official Mattel produced document and the other is one of many licensed consumer products from the 80's.
Most wanted Filmation style MOTUC figures:
Hunga the Harpy, Webstor, Kobra Khan, Leech, Grizzlor, Mantenna, Rattlor, Catra Cat Form, Ram Man, Count Marzo, King Miro, Twiggets, Frosta, Kothos and Admiral Scurvy.
I think the Shadow Weaver and Madame Razz and Twigget images are from a different source than the Mattel Style Guide. The art style is different for those than the rest of the Style Guide, and Swift Wind is the Filmation version in the Shadow Weaver card, and the colors are completely inconsistent with the colors Swift Wind is depicted in multiple times in the other cards.

A quick question while we're on the topic of POP/MOTUC.
Would they be able to produce a Catra figure with her panther alter ego packaged as an accessory? I'm guessing the cat image is property of Filmation?

If they release Catra as a two pack, Human form and cat form, I would snap that up!
The copyright notice on the Princess of Power playing cards only denotes that the playing cards contain characters that are based on the intellectual property of Mattel. It does not follow from this that Mattel is the rights holder to all of the materials therein.
Each entity maintains the rights to the intellectual property it brings to the work, i.e. Mattel holds the rights to its characters and trade dress in the playing cards, and FILMation holds the rights to its characters and trade dress in the playing cards.
The inclusion of Shadow Weaver in the set does not change that FILMation is the author of the character, and not Mattel.
Aside from negotiating the rights to the character, demonstrative proof of authorship, which would not include licensing guides or licensed products, is the only way the character would be available.
1) Argentina as mentioned. Got mine off eBay a while back.
2) There are 2 sets of He-man MOTU card game like this. Unfortunatley it's lacking in the art department. The artworks that's in the card looks like it was rushly made, but it's nice to have anyways.
3) No idea.![]()

I believe Shadow Weaver can be made and Mattel has the rights to her.
This card set only confirms it even more for me!
My reason behind this is because of the powerpoint presentation shown at Matty's panel at Wizard World Philadelphia in June 2009:

Well, I still hope that we'll get a Shadow Weaver !
Anyway, I have to congratulate my fellow fans who searched for ALL sources (even the most obscure ones, like this Argentinian card game) that could prove Mattel actually has the rights to make Shadow Weaver...
About Shadow Weaver articulations : she could be quite articulated ! Emiliano came with a clever design for her that would alllow her to sit down...
It's not the first time that we get Mattel material containing some Filmation characters... which makes me wonder : is Mattel actually entitled to produce some Filmation figures ?
I guess we'll have to wait what the future holds to answer that question. Hopefully, Mattel will buy the Filmation rights...![]()
We don't know for sure, but it's worth pointing the cards out to Mattel for their information.
