I agree but She-Ra's gauntlets and boots and already done. Do you think they'll go back and resculpt it? I'd love to see it, but I'm trying to be realistic.
No. In the last faqs they said that Fantastic Fashions MIGHT be a nice way to refresh She-Ra.
I am sorry, Agostinho, but I'll have to disagree with you on this one. Look for instance at Trap Jaw's arms. They were slightly redesigned so that they can be reused for Optikk and possibly MEF and they did the job really well without any loss of detail. So it can be done, while still making efficient reuse of the parts. If it worked for those three guys it could work for any and all POP imho.

I wonder if they'll consider, and I certainly wouldn't be opposed to this, using the forearm guantlets of Evil-Lyn/Teela on a character like Angella or Glimmer... it would be a neat way to incorporate some PoP and MOTU elements together into one figure and sort of help PoP gals "stick out" a little bit less. Like so many have said, so far Adora and She-Ra's designs when seen on the shelf next to Teela and Evil-Lyn... they look a little bit TOO simple as far as boots and gauntlets, etc go.
I imagine that when someone like Double Trouble comes out in MOTUC, who has an interesting classic design and was never in the PoP cartoon, her design is going to be as intricate and interesting as someone like Optikk or Man-At-Arms both look in MOTUC. And, well, you put that next to Adora and She-Ra and you'll be able to notice a difference. Just throwing some stuff out there.

Marzo looks rad. I appreciate that he has a place to put his sword on his belt as opposed to his back for some variety in the line.
A Postmodern Man For the 21st Century.
I don't know if it's the lighting, the paint, or the head/cape, but Marzo looks a little "meh" to me.
The gem is removable. Matty better have one spare ready on a weapon pack... (and a reliquary key... for Scarelow) Just in case "gemless Marzos" end up appearing in our collections.
Toyguru, read this: The Rebellion needs Glimmer!! I NEED Glimmer!! Pretty Please?
I wanna see Marzo mug someone's face with his open hand...that or the beginnings of a Kane style chokeslam where his open hand is on someone's neck!
Funny!
He looks good, but doesn't appear to have any paint shading at all - something that was very cool in the early figures but seems to be disappearing from the line lately...
Photog is here! thank you, Mattel!
Now how about some mini-comics love (like Lodar, Geldor, Dakon......)? And Mermista?
Question: Why does Marzo's sword have a tip cover? Is it supposed to be a like a "magical glow" or is it supposed to have some purpose (besides hindering Marzo from stabbing the heroes)?

Just the design of the sword, but it's still a sharp peice. There's nothing stopping him from stabbin' a sucka, but when he pulls it back out he's gona be draggin' some entrails.
There will be much of that when I get the figure! In fact, when they first said that the amulet was removeable I knew it was gona be one of my first pics!

I don't know, A-man. The tip cover has a multi-faceted design if you look close enough which would hinder easy access to smooth and yielding flesh. That's why sword tips are usually smooth with as little edges as possible. And the metal tips are rarely colored (IIRC). Marzo's looks more like a decorative piece rather than utlitarian and would hence hinder the sword's usefulness as a weapon...in my opinion.

Oh, I totally agree! Ever since I saw that on the toon I thought it was strange, especially since I just assumed it must be some magical projectile or something. Seems it's just a strange design feature though, as he never used the sword in any other fashion than a regular sword. I do agree that it won't slide in as easy as a blade without the tip, but he's probably got some super strength behind him, so he'd be able to pull it off all the same. Guess when you've got power you can afford to add some goofy items to your weapons.

Yeah, that sword tip really bugs me, too. Glad I'm not the only one.
Rigby the Barbarian - Swords, Sorcery and Sarcasm
I didn't even think it was a real sword so much as a magical creation from the amulet. Made of energy rather than metal.
Did anyone notice that the Action Figure Insider (AFI) pic of Marzo with his sword shows a weakness ?
The tip of the sword (pointed tip, downward) looks like it was bent (white mark on the red plastic). Can we expect more flaws or QC issues with Count Marzo ?![]()
I think Ronald McDonald's lawyers would like a word with you...
See, that's why I'm thinking it's a magical manifestation of Marzo's amulet. It's giving his sword tip a lightsaber glow effect. Having it being made of metal would negate almost all of a sword's effectiveness. It would make it difficult to stab anyone and if you try to run someone through with the sword the hook tips would more than likely get caught on the victim's clothing, armor or cape. I don't know. I know logic really isn't a major player in this fantasy world but I'm just trying to understand as best I can...

No, I'm quite realistic, as a matter of fact.
Did you notice the white mark on the tip of Marzo's sword on that AFI pic ?![]()
Hmmm. I'm not sure how I feel about the production Marzo. I thought prototype Marzo and sample Marzo looked fantastic. Something looks off about the one we'll all be buying though...
I'm trying to put my finger on it, but I think it might be a combination of the following:
- Face is a different colour than his body = odd
- Eyebrows are thinner, not as detailed (paint apps)
- Hair isn't centered properly and is supposed to be a tiny bit higher up (like at NYTF)
Everything else looks great. Something just looks "cheap" about his head now. Production She-Ra and Keldor look amazing and better than the NYTF showings though. *shrugs*
