    Which MOTU Movie Was Better?

So far we've had 2 Masters Of The Universe movies(almost 3 but the third one became Cyborg). Of these 2, which do you feel is better?

I picked He-Man and She-Ra: The Secret of the Sword. I like them both but I feel Filmation's movie is actually pretty good for a cartoon based on 2 toylines. The 1987 MOTU movie is a guilty pleasure.

He-Man and She-Ra: The Secret of the Sword is better and more entertaining IMO. There was more of the mythology unearthed and it had one of my favorite lines.

Barkeep: Your animal... he uh, he speaks.
Adam: Well doesn't everybody? Now about that food.

You know, I always liked the actual episodes better then the movie. They just worked better somehow.

That makes sense, since they were conceived of as episodes and then sewn together as a movie later. Still, it works better as a He-Man related story than the live-action, IMO.

I voted the for MOTU '87. I like the live action flick okay. It's certainly not Shakespeare but I enjoyed it as a kid. Secret of the Sword I saw once when I was little, but watching it again as an adult its just a mess.

Secret of the Sword was and still better than MotU '87. If it didn't state MotU as the title I would never thought of it as MotU movie--bad acting and bad story line. I give it ok on Skully( I like that bad guy, he does a soft stop for animals)

    The live action movie, easily.
The story was darker, had more serious action, and wasn't kidified like SOTS.
Skeletor was awesome, a big improvement over the moronic Filmation version.
The heroes were actually in danger, unlike in the Filmation cartoons.
The score to the movie was also great.
Fictional characters are just that. Fictional. They have no personality or free will of their own.
Writers and editors mold them to their own wants and needs.
All we as the audience and fans can do is pick and choose our favorite interpretation and ignore the rest.

The live action movie is by far the better movie. I saw SOTS last year and it hasn't aged all that well. i think what a lot of people hate about teh movie is that a lot of their favorite figures as kids were not in the film. As far as acting goes, I think it holds up pretty well.

I love SOTS but simply because the MOTU movie was a live action movie I had to vote for it. I just remembered being so excited to see it. It was a lot different then what I was expecting but I still enjoyed it and was still excited about it after I watched it.

Secret Of The Sword, by a mile. Though there are parts of it that are painful to watch (Hunga the Harpy, i.e.), I still find it rather enjoyable to watch. Although, like some others, I prefer the 5 episodes of The Sword Of She-Ra since I see it as the complete movie.

SOTS. I've seen it about a hundred times. The live movie maybe a dozen.

I still remember being a kid in the theater and hoping the movie would never end! I wanted to grow old in there.

I love both, but I have to go with SotS. I believe that SotS is the best story ever done in MotU.
