Wow, it's really nice to see someone who was able to create their own playset/diorama! The use of plaster bandages was really brilliant! A friend of mine did advise me once about it when doing dioramas.

Thanks for sharing your masterpiece dude! I like how the Talon Fighter fits your Point Dread. Well, if ever you create Snake Mountain, he he he, THAT would be awesome!

*Have to start my CGS project as well...*

Ok, so i'm more or less done with it... I'm sure i will go back and add some more stones and maybe fix the "leaning castle of grayskull" effect..
Anyway, thanks again for all your positive support on this project.

Seen this the other day and love it. Now that you've place the figures you really get an idea of the size. AMAZING.

Like I said on the MOTUC display thread: MAGNIFICIENT!

Quick question, how much does it weigh?

That's a good question. My guess would be about 40-50 pounds.

    And thanks!

mekaneckpain, I am truly in AWE of your splendid work !

What a challenge this was ! You did it ALL from the start !

AND WHAT A SPLENDID RESULT !!!

I especially love the color you gave to the castle ! Amazing !

Please promise us that you'll post more battle pictures of the "siege of Castle Grayskull" !

It must have been quite difficult with the papier mâché (this term comes from French, ans means literally "chewed paper")... But all your efforts were rewarded !

Fantastic work, my friend ! CONGRATULATIONS !

Just for us to get an idea... how many hours did you spend for that result? And had you ever tried this before ? Where did you find the tips to make this ?

P.S. : Will you make an attempt for Snake Mountain, the Fright Zone, or even... the Eternia playset ?

    Many thanks spector...

This was my first attempt to make a scale model from scratch. I went online to see what I could find out about how to go about creating such a large structure. I honestly didn't find much info. I basically just experimented, using chicken wire, wallpaper paste (pape mesche). Yes you are right... the real deal would be shredded paper but I took strips of newspaper and soaked them in wallpaper paste to create a similar effect as pape meche.

As far as hours... i didn't log the exact hours it took but I put in about an hour or two every night starting on the 8th.

I was actually thinking about making another castle grayskull only not as big and more like the original toy design. Perhaps 2 and a half to 3 feet tall but this time I want to make a cast of it and make copies from the cast. This time I would want to make a fully functional jawbridge. But we will see.

    Thanks again,
    "D"

So help me, if there isn't any mention of a Castle Grayskull release for MotuC at SDCC, then I'm gonna have to give something like this a try.

    That's fantastic!
