Happy about this! Let's hope they make Series One and Two top priority - those stories were the most important, in my opinion.

I would totally buy it if it was done in a graphic novel format with superior quality. Maybe they could add "footers" on the bottom of each page to include extra information and insight from the writers, artists, and editors.

Please no CD/DVD format. The mini-comics were meant to be read and not watched on screen.

I would never redraw any fo those books, bad or good, I have respect for what they are and were in my childhood.
I'd be totally up for drawing new ones, maybe retelling some of the old stories, but definitely not touching the originals at all.

YES ! I'd be totally up for that too ! Let's hope that Mattel will put any resentment aside, and will allow this to happen...

New ones would be my preference, and I'd settle for just getting them online, but I know that's just wishful thinking. I hope they solve the problem about printing.

That said, I really am troubled that Mattel won't work with MVC. Very unsettling.

Could this become the 2011 version of Wun-Dar's map, namely the bonus for buying a subscription? It would make a good 'gift', but would enough fans want it? A lot of people don't seem to take much notice of the minis.

There is a strange contradiction going on as well, because some elements of the minis have been taken very seriously in the Classics (Goddess), while others have been totally disregarded (Tri-Klops and Trap Jaw's backgrounds).

I would love to see the minis reprinted, but there could be a conflict of interests!

What I would expect would be a cd collection of the minicomics... similiar to the Amazing Spiderman collection and Star Trek collection I own... I've also seen Hulk and Ghost rider out there...

That would be the most cost effecient way to release them... though personally I would rather have printed copies... but what can you do :/

I'm interested in a reprint book with all the mini comics but I would be even more interested in totally new mini comics.

And if it's a matter of money not to create new mini-comics then I don't understand why Mattel don't sell them separately...
It would be a good business I think.

... unless the main problem is the budget... not enough to have both a line of toys and a line of mini comics...

"The Wun-Dar art was new, the Trap Jaw art came from a vintage source.

We are looking into way to re-release the old mini comics, but not as pack-ins with the figures. Stay tuned.

Saw this on the "ask matty" section of the mattycollector forum

As long as it's not in a limited print book only made once, in 100 copies, that can only be sold at SDCC or something...

I'll keep my fingers crossed that it's something we can actually buy this time.

Amen. I would love a mini-comic reprint collection, but I am still trying to find one of those stinking SDCC art books for a decent price after getting ripped off in the marketplace forums for one before the show.
Photog is here! thank you, Mattel!

Now how about some mini-comics love (like Lodar, Geldor, Dakon......)? And Mermista?

I like the idea of a reprint book, but I hope they hire hire a professional colorist to recolor it all.

If Mattel released a TBP-type collection of all the vintage mini-comics, could they include not only the POP minis but also the foreign I think it is 'Estrada' mini-comics that are on this site which were packed with figures in some countries?

Those Estrada comics do not compare with the Alcala or Bruce Timm mini-comics I grew up with but they should be part of any collection, IMHO.

Reprint book! Reprint book! Reprint book!

Scans of the mini-comics have been around for 15 years,
    and even with them around,
fans still want these in print!

Scans to read online are not the same as holding a book in your hand,
especially if it's like a limited collector's item.

Please bring on the mini-comic reprint book, Mattel!!!

    -------------

I also still stand by my offer to Mattel on new mini-comics.
I'd love to be what Lee Nordling was to the classic 80s mini-comics.

I'd gladly be guy who coordinates the creation of the new mini's,
    taking plots provided by Mattel,
then having Mattel-approved fan creators script, illustrate, color and letter the final products.

And I guarantee I can make any budget they have work.
(most of us here would probably work for comp toys, or even for free)

Just putting that out there once more.

Exactly. Especially since money is an issue for MOTUC. What better way to put out mini-comics than amped up fans?

Yes, money is an issue. But look at the success so far and the support we give them. We put up with a lot of crap (mattycollector.com) and we buy anything they throw at us...in mere SECONDS. I think we deserve mini-comics by now. Yes accessories/extra heads won out vs mini-comics, but aren't we doing well enough for both by now? They don't even have to be packaged with the figures. Just tack them into the monthly sale for like $5 each or something. These bios aren't cutting it and just leave us guessing. We seriously need a full fledged story and several origins for characters that we don't know much about. You've given us "beasts" and other surprises that have all done well. I think it's high time to give the mini-comic idea the go ahead. And there aint no one better than Mr. JVS3 right here to do it. And by the looks of it, he's ready, willing, and able. Guaranteed to be a hit imo!

Maybe we should start a thread on their forums so we can make sure they see it and the support behind it.
