Eldor Prototype Found. PROOF CARD

The Mattel archive is actually way less complete then you would imagine, especially for unproduced items. (we don't even have a Tytus or Megator on hand either loose or boxed). I was so hoping the prototype He-Ro was around but I have not been able to fine it despite exhausted weekend hours digging. I did look for information on the Robot (we do have copies of this catalogue) but nothing could be found. He would be a fun guy to get into the Classics line one day!

That is really cool. While I may get the privilege to be a "professional" MOTU fan in real life, I am such a MOTU fan boy at heart and it is so cool to see things like this pop up! It would be great to see a He-Ro card too if one was preserved!

And incidentally while doing research for the art book last year I did uncover the cross sell art of He-Ro as seen on this card (which made it into the book) and the story script for the full 3 part "Powers of Grayskull" mini comic written by Tim Kilpin. We'll be incorporating that into the MOTUC bios as time goes on.

While He-Ro did change slightly from his "Gray" alter ego due to the inclusion/introduction of King Grayskull, He-Ro will still be Eldor's apprentice in magic and we do have plans for lots more Preternia fun in the MOTUC line. Stay tuned soon. While we did merge a few ideas to create one streamlined story for the bios we do want to include as much existing content/storyline as possible, so it is always cool when things like this are found.

As for everyone else, next year you will see the realization of something wonderful. Hollywood Heroes will implement the TARPPTM program.

TARPPTM (Toy Artwork Restoration/Preservation Project) will take one of a kind prototypes and original artwork from major toy lines produced from the 1970's-1990's. The artwork and prototypes will be archived, and never become available for sale. Our intent is create an archive that can tour shows and be available for viewing and research on the web and in galleries. We have already begun gathering items and expect the collections to continue.

Stay tuned for more information.

Now that April's fool is long gone I can say this.

You guys and gals remember the article on the eldor card art that was up for sale on e-bay?

Well, I bided on it. I didn't win. But then a few days later I get an e-mail from hollywoodheroes.com if I was interested in it. Now when I heard that I thought the winning bidder backed out. But that wasn't wasn't the a case. Come to find out there was a second eldor card art. I talked to the president of the company on Good Friday (everyone else had the day off). And he explained to me that the artist made two of everything cause of his two kids. The 2nd one was bind other work. The works was being sold because the guy was getting out of the business. So that day I bought the 2nd eldor card art. and a Gwildor one to. They even paid for the shipping.

So I got a eldor card art and a gwildor card art to. I also bided on Tyrantasaur (sp?) and lost out.

sorry I don't have pictures but if you one as proof. though I still have a e-mail pic of it. Minus the authenticity certificate and the purple back board. I also still have the e-mail of our conversation.

In fact I talked to the president (jordan) today told him I was pleased with everything and he's giving me first dibs on card art for rio blast and blade. I should be pictures of those soon.

yeah i found it on e-bay too. i read about in on he-man.org & done some research on it. there was going to be a power of grayskull toyline or something & he-ro was going to be the main guy in the story & eldor was another stare character in the line.
... but wow the eldor figure impressed me & he comes with book of spells. its all on the card & a bio.
i really want an eldor figure more than ever! hope matty makes this figure.

I fully believe you. If you do decide to take pictures of anything though, I would mainly be interested in seeing larger images of the text on the back of Eldor's card so we can be 100% sure we transcribed it properly.

I'd be exstatic to see JUST pictures of the text.

Did you hit the zoom button on the image box?
If it still not clear anough, can you repost the transcript? I can check the original image
