It's sad (as in you wish he was still here) but nice at the same time that you're able to be reminded of a loved one through something such as a MOTUC figure. While i can't say the same thing, Skeletor brings back wonderful memories for me. I can still remember opening the package as a kid and just feeling really happy, it was good times back then. Fast forward 25 odd years later, i had flashbacks galore and a smile you couldn't wipe off my face when i bought MOTUC Skeletor lol. Boy was i lucky to be growing up back then and arguably live through the best era in toy history! (and now again in a way with MOTUC).

Ram Man and Man-E-Faces would be two of the most nostalgic, as I got them for my birthday, but they haven't been made yet.

    Mer-Man.

My favorite figure from childhood. The MOTUC version with the cardback head is a dream come true. That's the figure I always wanted and never understood why the "cat head" was made.

My other three favs are Beast Man and Man-E-Faces, which were my first figures (along with Castle Grayskull), and also Ram Man as I always loved him (and always wondered why he was made so differently from the others, and hope he is in the same style and articulated like the other MOTUC figures and is also the cardback version--which would also be a dream come true!)
    My seller/trader/buyer feedback:

MOTUC Most Wanted: Skeletor's Robot Knights, Two-Bad, Horde Troopers, Modulok, Sssqueeze, Tung Lashor, Stridor, Night Stalker, the Battle Ram, and a true, alternate head for Wun-Dar (since he's a "different" character)!

It would be 2 figures: Skeletor and Mer-Man. Those were my 2 favorite MOTU toys of all the ones I had. It's MOTUC Skeletor and Mer-Man because that's how I envisioned in my young mind how my MOTU figures looked to me. I wanted my Skeletor to be the epitome of evil and what better way than a freakin' vicious looking skull for a head, adorned with cross bones and holding ram-skull topped staff. And Mer-Man with his cardback head and his corn cob sword would be beside Skeletor plotting various nefarious aquatic-styled mayhem. Seeing those guys standing next together on my shelf always fills me with awe and brings a crooked sneer to my face (or what I call my face).

for me.... I've got alot of them...

Trap-jaw, because he was my most wanted for the longest time & my grandma bought him for me back in the day, along with Two Bad. I love those two characters the best. My grandma has long since passed away, but those two plastic people will live on forever & always remind me of those times.

Webstor & Statos... got them for Christmas way back when. Along with Skeletor, which i tried to 'peek' by tearing a bit of the wrapper off & saw a blue arm. so i knew i was getting Skeletor, lol. My parents told me they couldn't find a He-man, but much to my delight I unwrapped a He-man too. Webstor was awesome, but i could never get his backpack to work, unfortunately, so we took it apart to fix the pulley & got it working for a while. then one day I accidentally dropped him down our sistern when I was playing in the basement & i felt so bad, my mom said she'd get me another one.

Merman... because he was my first motu figure, ever; and the one that started it all for me. My dad bought me him when we were at Shopko one day. I had seen the cartoon before, but never knew there were figures.
The motuc version is a dream come true, because he looks like the old cardback illustration, and also imo, looks better than the 2002 version.

Orko & Kobra Khan... got them both for Christmas the year they came out, & I can't wait to see them back again.

Modulok... got him for my birthday & he's still 100% complete. Not sure how, since I was always losing parts & accessories to my figures when i was a kid. He's one of the few vintage motu figures I've kept out on display all these years. I can't wait to see him redone & updated. He'll be one of the coolest ever!

Mekanek... he was never one of my favorite characters, for whatever reason... but he does bring back memories of when my mom worked at Shopko & would look for Trap-jaw for me (who was about as hard to find as 1985 Snake Eyes). One day she brought home Mekanek, and he turned out to be alot cooler than i'd initially thought. plus i felt better when I eventually got my Trap-jaw. Mekanek has got to be coming for the current line sooner or later...

Clawful... was one of the figures my dad bought me when we were at Shopko. He looked so awesome & destructive with that massive claw, like he could cave in someone's face when he punched them. I can't wait to see his motuc version... that'll blow the roof off the building, so to speak.

Battlecat.... was one of the few figures I'd gotten from K-mart (Whiplash being the other). I remember that day, mainly because Skeletor was also in town, at my local K-mart (which is long since gone now) & I got to shake hands with him. How many fans can say they shook hands with the Overlord of Evil, as a kid? his skin kind of felt rubbery... could it be that I was decieved by a person in a costume???

Castle Grayskull.... my grandma bought me that for my birthday. i couldn't believe she got me the biggest most expensive piece for motu. i'll always regard that with favor... once we get a motuc Castle, those memories will most likely come flooding back.

Screech.... got for my birthday. we had a BD party at Hardees & one of my friends got me screech. He was alot bigger back then, as I recall. Either I got bigger or he's been shrunk down by a shrink ray.

Mantenna.... this one's funny. My mom saw him & said he was 'too ugly' so she took him back to the store, after I'd bought him. to me, he was awesome. But looking back, I find it funny that my mom said a little plastic creature was' too ugly' and didn't want it in the house.
I really, REALLY want a motuc Mantenna.

Battle Cat is my first favorite MOTU memory. It was the first toy I had from the series. My Grandparents bought it for me as a gift when I graduated from Kindergarten. I didn't even have He-Man at that point. I was so happy when my Classics version arrived.

Skeletor would be next. My mother had purchased him as a gift from the "tooth fairy". I was very sneaky and recall finding him hidden on a shelf in the closet. I usually got a dime from losing a tooth so this gift was big time. When I finally received him and opened him up I found that his waist would not turn like the other figures did. I was disappointed but he remained my Skeletor throughout my childhood and the waist issue was forgotten over time.

I also remember getting many of my figures at K-Mart. Especially Whiplash for some reason. The other store was a local chain called G.L.Perrys Variety Store. They always had a good assortment of figures there. I think that the first two waves of figures all were purchased there. Sadly they closed all of their stores because of places like Wal-Mart and Meijers. It's a shame. I wish I could go back in time and stroll down the aisles surrounded by vintage toys. Ahh nostalgia.

Orko has been my first Motu ever, since there's no Motuc version yet, BA He-Man brings back most childhood memories. I got him for Christmas, and my two best friends got Moss Man and Roboto for Christmas. I loved BA He-Man, but I also liked Moss Man, such a cool figure and that smell, never forgotten it. First I didn't like Roboto so much, started to like him later on though and now he is one of my favorites.

Easily Mer Man. After Christmas morning had ended that year, I was busy playing with all of my new presents when, lo and behold, my mom found a gift that "Santa forgot to wrap..."

Mer Man was the best gift I received that year - and one that I constantly had by my side. I even used an old fish bowl filled with water to keep him in...

Man, this brings back some good memories.......

Man-E-Faces, Tri-Klops, Mer-Man, Leech, Snake Face, theres just too many to list. When i think about any of these figures i just smile inside and remember all the fun as a kid playing with them ( or in Snake Face's case looking for him). As was already mentioned if you grew up during this time you were in the middle of toy heaven. The best toys were made in the 80's!

No POP figures mentioned yet, so...

I have to put in my two cents.... My first figure was Angella. And I remember distinctly at 4 years old thinking, why doesn't she look anything like the Angella I see on TV? But I fell in love with her anyway, and then got She-ra and Glimmer. I think Glimmer is one of my favorite POP dolls of the first line. I loved her accessories and just thought she was a great figure. I really, really hope that the new line will include a good portion, if not all the POP dolls. Especially if they keep up the great looking ones we've seen so far! It will be like 1985 all over again!! And who doesn't want to relive those years?!

How have MOTUC triggered childhood memories for you?

With Pixel Dan's admission that Stinkor frightened the life out of him as a child, I thought it might be fun and POSITIVE (so lay off me already!) for everyone to share particular memories of the vintage line and their own childhood that have been brought to the surface by the joys of collecting the MOTUC line.

For me the best memory is of my very first figure. My brother bought me Mer-Man for my 6th birthday (that's 30 years ago, as I just turned 36!), and I thought it was the greatest toy anyone could ever possibly receive. We then spent the rest of our childhood collecting any MOTU related items we could get our hands on. From age 6 to age 12, my brother and I lived and breathed MOTU. Sure we had other toys, but they were just toys, MOTU were LIFE ITSELF!!! So when I first got my hands on a Classics Mer-Man I was in heaven! Mer-Man has always had a special place in my heart, and he is easily one of my favorite Classics figures as well.

So put that in your "Executioner is so negative" pipe and smoke it.

MOTUC caused me to get back into MOTU. The way MOTUC is created/made/done with that vintage look, and the fact that the vintage figures look like the vintage figures, makes me want it all.

200X was the reason I got into He-Man, so if by childhood memory you mean 19, I remember being stoked as hell at getting Castle Grayskull. Built it, brought it to work for a day to show it off. I remember playing with battle-cat together when I was supposed to be working, too

Good question. Where do I begin. I guess all of the figures that I had & still have. But to narrow it down He-Man & BC along w/ Skeletor & Panthor.

Thunder Punch He-Man was always my most played with figure and became the difinitive version. I always had him on the Dragon Walker because his chest emblem matched the side decals, it just made sense. But Mekaneck is my most memorable one. My grandfather bought him for me back in 1984, then he passed away shortly after so I guess that's why I'm so attached to the character.

I had most of the original MOTU figures when I was child, I'd always pick up one or two whenever I went to Sears with my parents. Skeletor, Mer-Man, and Beast Man were my favorite villains because they looked cool to me. It's no surprise that, decades later, Skeletor would be my first MOTUC figure. Teela was the only female figure I had and would be the damsel in distress in all my toy adventures. I remember one special Christmas when I got Castle Grayskull and I played around the Christmas tree all day long. I can't remember what happened to my original He-Man & Skeletor figures (They probably broke after so many epic battles) but I recall that Thunder Punch He-Man and Terror Claws Skeletor became their permanent replacements, they were so much fun!

Man, so many childhood memories with MOTU...Mekaneck peeking around everywhere, Kobra Khan spitting water at everyone, Roboto always getting his hand blown off, Two bad punching himself all the time, TC Skeletor doing that funky boogie dance, pieces of Modulok popping up all over the place...Maybe I should do a special display on Christmas and try to recreate some of my childhood adventures one of these days!

Man-At-Arms & Castle Grayskull. The first christmas I can vividly remember. I remember how HUGE the tree was...I was 4 I remember taking our Man-At-Arms and he was just freaking awesome. The castle...I'll admitt it...scared the crap out of me. LOL

The other big one was Skeletor (you guessed it...it had to be the skulls...) he freaked me out too. It didn't help that one of our family friends kept taughting me with him and making freaky voices...

I got most of my He-Man figures at Nicholls department store...does anyone remeber that place. Alot of Starwars & M.U.S.C.L.E Men & Battle Beasts...

The whole line brings up memories for me. They are some of my best childhood memories. MOTU was a huge source of fun and solace for me.

He-Man: That was a big deal... the MOTUC He-Man felt, in my adult hands, how the vintage He-Man felt in my child hands... that was huge.

    Skeletor: Same thing

Tri-Klops: Always loved him, and the Warrior Ring made me feel nostalgic, as I received Tri-Klops, Trap-Jaw, and Zoar for Christmas that year (I think I may have received some other things, but I can't remember).

Evil-Lyn: I remember my mom and I literally going around the county to find both Evil-Lyn and Mekaneck. We had gone to about 10 stores, and had given up... and we stopped at some K-Mart type store (it was smaller, and not K-Mart), and she had to buy some fabric... so I wandered to the toy aisle (small one in the back). There was Mek... and THERE was Evil-Lyn... I was enthralled. She was the coolest figure in the universe. So my mom and I celebrated at the front of the store, and I am sure the cashier thought we were both nuts LOL.

Bubble Power She-Ra: I remember standing in K-Mart, in the girls' aisle, where I wasn't really allowed, and seeing BP She-Ra, and wanting her. I was not allowed to have her. Years later, I did buy her on ebay... but the MOTUC version was special because it legitimized how I thought about all the POP FIGURES... they were MOTU. I didn't see a difference. The hair was part of their action features. That's where it ended.

Orko: He's just an amazing character, and makes me think of the cartoon, which brought me so much joy as a kid.

Bow: for the same reasons as BP She-Ra, except that I never understood why I was allowed to have Catra and Double Trouble as a kid, but not BOW or Kowl... the only male, and an animal.
    A Want List of Sorts:
Rokkon, Stonedar, Nepthu, Plundor, Sea Hawk, Strong-Arm, Dactys, Horde Troopers, Storm, Geldor, Modulok, Battle Ram, Kowl, Loo-Kee, Hydron, Glimmer, Eldor, Two Bad, Ninjor, Rio Blast, Mermista, Entrapta, Sweet Bee, Peekablue, Flutterina, Gorpo, Flogg, Crimson Fury, Songster, Lodar, Kex Queen, Goat Man, Darius, Uncle Montork, Dree-Elle

What the...I never responded to the thread title in this one? Hmmm...nope! Just made a hilarious joke.

    Well aright then:

Skeletor - Skeletor was apparently the earliest toy I can remember. I remember liking him, but I had to ask my mom about the fact that I just carried him everywhere. At the time I couldn't say his name so I called him "Hehe" because of his laugh in the cartoon. The one thing I can remember myself is that I took 'em to bed with me one night and woke up with his head in my mouth. Not just the figure, but I friggin' bit his head off in my sleep. Not terribly surprising to the folks, of course, 'cause I was a known chewer (I still have my original He-Man and his hands tell a tale of woe) but I was utterly surprised and cried and cried. I mean Skeletor was my favorite. At the time, though, the original one wasn't easily found in stores, so my parents took me out and got me Dragon Blaster Skeletor as a replacement, so it goes without saying that he's pretty special too (and his hands are also chewed to heck).

Scare Glow - My grandma got 'em for me just as a surprise. This is another one my mom had to tell me, sort of. I remember my reaction, which was to take him into the closet to see him glow. From the adults perspective, my grandma gets me a toy, I am super excited, and I run the heck away to the closet. Grandma was baffled, and my mom had to explain: "Well, doesn't it glow in the dark?"

Faker - This was one of the last MotU figures I ever got. It was a christmas present from my uncle, and I was old enough to finally NOT chew on things and lose items, so my original Faker to this day is still in good condition. I friggin' LOVED that guy; heck, I still do. I dunno what it was...I just found a crazy-colored evil He-Man to be the most awesome thing. Then I took off his armor and OMG HE'S A ROBOT TOO. I just...that's the memory. The memory of realizing that Faker was awesome.

Any classics figure really. I guess certain figures like fisto, beastman remind me of playing with my cousins. We had a pretty big collection all together. BA he-man because he was the he-man that was mine (the original he-man was my brothers). Mossman and stinkor too because smell just has the power of accessing memories at an instant.
