    Futurama nod to Vikor?

EDIT: Ignore the first pic, I wasn't saying that was a particular MOTU nod. I was just intrigued at the similarity in the pics between Bender and Vikor beneath. Helmet, hair, pose and everything.
Next month... is my Simpsons calendar a subtle nod to the true location of the Holy Grail

Been meaning to post this ... well, since the start of the month!

I have a 'Futurama' calender hanging in my room. This year's theme is spoof comic book covers. This months...:

Hmm, a barbarian theme. Early MOTU was famously "barbarian"-based. And some of those guys look like the non-descript beings shown in some early art from the line. But that's not a particular MOTU reference.

    But look a little closer...

Seem familiar?? I'm thinking of this dude...

The barbarian theme, the helmet, and even the pose, are pretty much spot on.
'Futurama' (and 'The Simpsons' before it) often puts in pop culture references, some quite obscure.

What do you guys think? Vikor referece... or am I just reading into things too much?

You are so far down the road of reading into things, you may well find the Complete Works of Shakespeare between the lines of your next shopping list.

Sorry, looking way to into it! It's a Conan reference. Nothing more!

Ha, I knew it. I'm too MOTU obsessed.
    There's no hope for me!

Gotta admit the running pose is pretty spot-on though.

...I have way too much time on my hands.

    Seriously?

    You don't know?

8,300 posts on a MOTU board, and you're being serious...okay!

He was the prototype design for what would eventually become He-Man. He was featured prominently in the Art Book from the Con last year that virtually none of us were able to get!

Yeah, that's pretty obviously a reference to Barry Winsor-Smith's cover to Marvel's Conan #1.

Oh, I knew that! Just wondering if you do!

But seriously, I never really looked that far off of the MOTU history other than that of He-Ro and Grayskull!

And I even have the book!
