Oh, okay. That makes sense.
Look at it on a "flat" plane from the front. The tiara is flat on 'toon-Glimmer's face, so [deliberately mis]read the "helmet" as a flat tiara, and you end up with round-topped straight, loose hair.

Yeah, I can see that. It's weird though. Maybe they purposely combined the designs and got the Glimmer we saw in the cartoon?
She has no cape, black hair. It's just weird.
