Life In Plastic Reviews! (Newest: Glimmer 02/21/2014)

Nerditis has a regular feature on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday - Life in Plastic, a toy column written by yours truly! Monday is reserved for news postings, but Wednesday and Friday are usually toy reviews!

As I FINALLY have a subscription this year, you can expect much more MOTU-related content in 2014!

    MODULOK on Life in Plastic!

    http://nerditis.com/2014/02/19/life-...erse-classics/

Okay, we're trying for new threads for the reviews - but here he is, one of the best figures made in this series! Thirty photos, lots of commentary, and more than enough builds to give you ideas. Enjoy!

Wonderful review. The written review was fun, and the pictures even more so!

I do believe Modulok is the best figure/toy the line has produced, even if he isn't my personal favorite.

I L-O-V-E this figure!! So many mix and match possibilities and I'm very happy that he's out and in the hands of fans. There is literally so much you can do with this guy.
Harken to the coming of RIO BLAST!!

I especially love how they worked with his joint durability. Seriously, it's one of the best engineering things that they've done in this line - and Mattel has outdone literally every other toy company out there if it works long-term.

Love to know where that dio/dungeon came from, or what playset it's from.
Strange women dressed in bird outfits guarding castles distributing swords and harnesses in no basis for a system of heroism.

Cobbled together from a lot of sources:

Metal Floor = Marvel Select Iron Man 3/Iron Patriot (it's a booth. I disassembled the panels)
Dungeon backdrop = Chap Mei Pirates playset
Grating on the left = Marvel Select Chitauri
Stonework above grating = Armies of Middle Earth Balrog Play Set
Broken stone/bent metal above dungeon backdrop = Marvel Legends Juggernaut
Floor panel with junk to the far right = Marvel Select Wolverine

Great review! My only problem with Modulok? He's still in Fishers, Indiana!

And now... Life in Plastic goes girly with the newest subscription Masters of the Universe Classics figure - Glimmer! So, how does this She-Ra character line up with the rest of the line? Really, really well, actually.

That was a good review. The pictures were very good.

I particularly like your Final Fantasy reference. I was never a Final Fantasy player, but I do remember seeing a lot of FF images from my Nes gaming days. The image of the Black Mage has always appealed to me, and it's probably one of the key reasons why I love Orko's design so much; Madam Razz too for that matter.

Good review! I like how you were able to remain mostly impartial about the figure, remaining positive about the sculpt and paint, but still touching base on the controversy and perceived value (or lack thereof).

Well yeah, this figure's reception depends more on personal opinion than most. But hey, it looks like some of the controversy is already beginning to wind down.
