So the MOTUC/DC stuff is coming back in 2011.

I like the part where he talks about the major characters. Spector really needs to listen to this.

scott mentioned buzz-off as one of his favourites... i hope we don't have to wait too long then for him! he mentioned he liked a couple of 200x characters but didn't name them unfortunately (i guess bcs one of the two is coming this year).

I'm so glad they're making Marlena (eventually).

Hm...didn't sound like he said anything about Jitsu and Randor sharing armor. He said the original figures did, and that brought up the question of which figure to do first, since they would probably (I assume) mold the armor for whichever character came first. So they chose Randor and worked it accordingly, then (once again, I assume) they'll work the existing armor in such a way to make it seem different for Jitsu.

Yeah I never really paid it any attention actually but I looked in the toy database. The only thing different besides the paint details on Jitsu and Randor are the head, right arm, and Randor has a cape. Of course there are different accessories. So if they go with the classic look, Jitsu will be just a repiant.

I'm just now listening to the podcast.
I'm interested to hear everything Toyguru has to say.

Edit: Just finished listening. Pretty interesting stuff.
So they want to get to Marlena soon, huh? Hopefully it will be soon.

I liked the bit at the end with Mo-Larr. It's not the fans, Matty is targeting people like Vinto-Man's friend (although I'll be buying the set to). So it doesn't matter what the fans think about Mo-Larr.

Fictional characters are just that. Fictional. They have no personality or free will of their own.
Writers and editors mold them to their own wants and needs.
All we as the audience and fans can do is pick and choose our favorite interpretation and ignore the rest.

I listened to this episode yesterday and was going to post the link here but I figured someone else would. Definitely love the Masters of the Universe Chronicles, Chris. You do a great job with it. Always a great combination of everything MOTU and amazing guests every month. This month was no exception with Toyguru on there.

Just downloaded it, but if the above is true.. well that sucks arse

They should have made the armour more generic then.

Why not give Jitsu his own armour like the staction?

    Cheap *******s..

Things you need to consider is that: 1) Even if they keep the Randor armor, they can add things extra to it to make it unique enough for the character. 2) This is a Classics line that was meant to imitate what made the originals great for fans and the company...which means reuse of existing pieces. Get used to it. 3) It wasn't his armor that made Jitsu great, so that is a secondary concern. The main concern is the head and hand sculpts.

I won't panic unless I see it and THEN it sucks.

But Randors armor isn't a copy of Jitsu's 80's armour. They put a big cross on it and implied it is Randors symbol by also putting it on his staff and sword.

It would be stupid having Jitsu walking around like that.

And I (AND MANY OTHERS) do not think Jitsu's armour is of secondary concern. Many of us had Jistu, but didn't have Randor.

I am just willing to give the 4H a chance to show what they can do to change it up and still use it. A few added pieces of plastic did wonders for Optikk, and could to change Randors armor to lean more asian. Heck, the cross may be entirely blotted out for all we know. I am just stating....wait and see.

Doesn't sound to me as if it's set in stone that they will recycle Randors armor for Jitsu.

    Good interview!

Toyguru mentioned talking about the TRU MOTU/DC 2-packs and Australia. Woot woot!

And possibly new TRU 2-paks next year providing hopefully opportunities for extra fan demand repaints.

200 figures? This sounds like it could include core FILMation characters.

Does anyone think TG's comment about re-packing a Keldor only figure on card with a movie line of figures may be a hint that the movie storyline will reflect the MYP storyline with the Keldor/Randor conflict of 20 years ago?

Is TG's mention of Buzz Off good news for our favorite spy in the sky but bad news for Clawful - the latest 'hostage' figure and Whiplash parts sharer?

Excellent work Chris! Really interesting listening. Scott seems like a really good guy who knows how to represent the fans' interests and is equally an excellent businessman by mapping the line with A-D list characters for the next few years. I am definitely glad he's at the helm- Scott, I salute you!

I'm pretty sure Sweet Bee is on her way- why else would she get so much exposure recently??! I really wasn't expecting Butthead (great character) or Nocturna (possibly one of the characters we know the least about) to get a mention. Also pleased about Catra, Marlena and Spikor getting heads-up- the future of this line is bright!

Well, from what was told in that podcast interview, it seems like we'll get Marlena, Spikor and Buzz-Off quite soon ! Maybe we'll see some of them at SDCC. Buzz-Off was a given, since he shares parts with Whiplash, but still, it's a great news.
