Val Staples, Emiliano Santalucia, "Pixel Dan" Eardley, and Eamon O'Donoghue are back to discuss He-Man and She-Ra.

This week's show starts out with listener voicemail, then continues with a discussion about Earl Norem's artwork for the world of Masters of the Universe and Princess of Power.

Then they enjoy a phone interview with Earl Norem himself, where they talk about his art on He-Man and She-Ra, his past as an illustrator and his artistic background and painting technique.

Must say first 20-30 mins was just gooble, but after Demoman incident it went well. I luckily had a picture of every poster from those US magazines, so I was able to see the pictures while you guys talked about them.

I can't tell if that means the first 20-30 mins were good or bad.

I like the part about dealing with other people's perspective on our collections. I personnally have a "Man Cave" in my house. Each wall of the cave supports a bookcase filled with Action Figures from Star Wars (1980-present) MOTU the original, 2002, and classics on top (of course) LOTR, Transformers, GI JOE, Star Trek, DC, Marvel, etc etc etc... All told there about 3000 figures and toys on and off the card in this office and I have to admit there is a distinct difference in the reactions depending on how close the friend is. My Closest friends go from shelf to shelf, admiring each figure. They ask if they can pick them up, they comment on who it is and what connection they have with the character. Those who are casual aquaintences, go into the cave and go, "What are you like the 40 year old virgin or something?" (BTW, those who insult the cave, get no booze from my bar) Anyway, it was refreshing to hear the similar view points.

Well, I don't know if gooble actually means something ,but for me it sounds something like: piffle or twaddle

Personally I thought it was akin to "splunge"...

Another great dinner! Consider me hooked!!

Loved the interview with Mr. Norem! I checked out the website. VERY COOL STUFF!

Thanks guys! Keep up the excellent work! My only complaint is that I cannot chime in with my opinions during the discussions...... It sounds like you guys are really having a good time chatting up MOTU topics!

Although I will say that I didn't taste as much eamon this time, no doubt due to its being added later. Maybe not all the eamon juice got extracted or something.

Do you accept voicemails any other way than calling in? what if one wanted to upload an mp3 file somewhere for ya to download, so that..eh..some of us could edit down for time and/or re-record our thoughts so we don't mess it up.

Sure, you can e-mail an MP3 or WAV to the podcast e-mail, as long as it isn't gigantic in size.

As long as you keep it at about minute or less in length, then that will be fine.

I am listening to it now.

    Some points thus far:

-I miss the old-school artwork too. I would LOVE to see all of the original MOTU/POP?whathaveyou artwork collected in one (widely available) book for all of us fans.

-Here's how I pronounce the lines' names:
-MOTU is "mo-too" although I usually just say "Masters of the Universe" because it sounds awesome
-POP is "Pee-Oh-Pee" or, again, I just say the whole title
-NA; I always just say "New Adventures"
    -200X; "two-thousand-ex"
-MOTUC; "Classics," but "Mo-Tuck" is fun, too.

-I like the addition of the techno-sword in MOTUC. I love that Mattel is throwing in bts from all of the prior lines. It's making a fun, incredibly broad tapestry for this canon.

-Demo-Man is another bit that I am loving. It was awesome to hear from my good buddy and fellow Bio-Canon fan and collector PatrickFogarty! I may have to chime in for a future episode...
Not to sound like a creepy cheerleader for Uki, but it's nice to know there is at least one person on this forum who is extremely positive & friendly all the time. I don't think I could be that nice even if you paid me. If we ever give out awards for "forum member of the month", Uki gets my vote. -Mr. Shokoti

Bruce Timm would be interesting to interview too, but I presume that will be rather difficult?

    Past Gooble Dinners

I am currently listening to podcast#3 and could not find a prominent link for it. Anyway Earl Norem also did alot of paintings for Sectaurs as well, and I try to incorporate Sectaurs into my MOTU collection since they are close to the same size. Anyway in reference to the voicemail concerning how other people view our obsessions with collecting, I liked all the suggestions I heard. To make a long story short, too many haters...my mom always told me if you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all, and it still seems relevant these days.
