I'd like to take advantage of K-Mart's prices, but they won't friggin' stock 'em! They got an empty space for them (with all other toys around them filled) but no T-Cats!
LOL - they are doing the old "let's undercut K-mart by 3 cents" trick... although actually K-mart still has a better price on the deluxe figures (at 11.99.)

Yeah, and there is no K-mart near me... and of course no one wants to ever try to order from their website. But at this point I have all there is to have... that I want. Though I ended up getting everything but deluxe Lion-O, Deluxe Tygra and the two Racers.
From the Kastor's Korner article it seems like we'll at least be getting one more wave before Christmas. I hope they announce that soon!

I don't think they 6" figures are supposed to have the black joint pegs. The card back pics don't show black pegs they're painted.

I don't like that idea if the ancestors are all going to be Cheetara lion o wily kit and kat, snarf panthro etc. I mean it would be cool if the original STORY was hinted at but the characters would have to be different in name. for me anyway other wise it's just kind of cheesy.

Did someone say that the Tower of Omens wasn't going to be released until later this year? Cuz I found it at my local TRU:

I didn't get it (I honestly think it looks crappy) and I think the price was $39.99. I know it's $10 more than the Thundertank, which was right beneath it, cuz I compared the two prices.
What gets me is that the 4" Panthro, Cheetara, and Thunderkittens are impossible to find. The clerk at the register was checking out my purchases (another Classics Lion-O and 4" Grun and 4" Mumm-Ra) and he was saying they just got a truck in, which is why so much of everything was in stock. On the shelf they had a good amount of Classic Lion-O and Tygra's, Tower of Omens, Thundertank, those separate side cars for the Thundertank that come with Lion-O or Tygra, 6" figures (I didn't look to see which ones), the Deluxe Power Sword, the tiny Power Sword, the tiny glove for the power sword, and a whole bunch of 4" figures. But even with so much on the shelf there were only 4" Lion-O, Tygra, and Mumm-Ra's with no sight of Panthro, Cheetara, or the kittens anywhere. Are they packed in separate boxes/assortments or are there so few of them that cherry pickers could have gotten all of them already? There was a good twenty 4" figures on the shelf with maybe seven of the Deluxe 4" figures (two Lion-O's, two Tygra's, two Mumm-Ra's, and one Grune) and nothing else.
Nope they are in every assortment, people are just getting them quick (or if its TRU then employees are taking them and reselling them online)
Our Walmart got 6 cases and this is what was left after 1hr
As more and more Walmarts stock them you should be able to find the figures, we went to 2 more Walmarts and Wily Kit and Kat were about 3 per store.
The Classics are moving pretty well also, the Deluxe 6" figures don't seem to be doing anything

As cool as the are, I'm not as interested in the new ones. But I'd love to own the Classics. Unfortunately, they're too much for me.I saw Lion-o and Tygra at the Wal-Mart I work at. Maybe if they seemed a little more common. I'd hate to get into something where it ends up the only way I can get them is by paying triple because some hoarder buys them all to put them on eBay.

Yeah I thought of that but if I was told my great great grandfather had my name and a bunch of friends who had the EXACT same names as the friends I have to day (and each friend had the same traist as my friends today) it would be so far fetched. we have common names but for me it takes something away from the current story if the ancestral story is basically the same story. for my tastes anyway.

It could be similar the Hawkman/Hawkgirl where history repeats to a certain extent but is different based on the time
Thundera explodes = Kingdom destroyed
I for one hope it's just a legend or something like a prophecy rather then telling us it's a direct sequel

Cheetara, Panthro, Kit and Kat are all one per case, with duplicates of Lion-O, Tygra and Mumm-ra. A case is 12 pieces, so people are buying the one full set in each case and we're seeing lots of leftovers.
Positive Transactions:

As seller: mikethedrummer, slgcmg, kngfu

EBay: StLouisStallions
If it's a history repeating itself thing, then we should just call it "The Legend of Lion-O: A Link to the Past"
I really don't see how this could be a sequel to the old series, though. For instance, in the first episode of this series, Mumm-Ra states that the eye in the sword was once his, and I think he said he created it or something if I recall correctly (and the Mumm-Ra figures come with weapons with the eye in them, indicating that he may actually utilize it at some point in the new show). That wasn't the case at all in the original series... he just wanted to obtain the eye and find a way to use it's powers... he never controlled it or created it. I'm assuming that IF this is/was meant to be a sequel series, then this would be the same Mumm-Ra from the old show, and the sword would likely be the same sword being handed down over time. And if that were the case, then Mumm-Ra's relationship to the sword as stated in the premiere doesn't make any sense.
Even if we ignore the extremely high improbability (which Krosfyah pointed out) of all of these characters being friends and allies, and having the same names, traits, personalities, etc, as the original show's group of friends/allies, and just completely accept that as at least being possible... there are still many, MANY other things that just don't line up and create major continuity errors (like Mumm-Ra's relationship to the eye of Thundera, the fact that the in this series Thundercats were largely separated from and ignorant to the existence of technology, when in the old series they came to Third Earth in a space ship, had a Cats Lair with a ton of tech in it, had many vehicles, etc.)

Yup if I remember there are 2 cases, 1 has 3x Lion-O, 3x Mumm-Ra, and 2x Tygra with 1x of all the others. So if you have like 5 cases and people buy 1 set of each figure you are going to have like 10 Lion-O's and 10 Mumm-Ra.
But it gives the impression that all Bandai shipped were those 2, its similar to Mattel which could be bad but since Bandai ships so much product it makes thing not that hard to find once they start shelving them.
Yeah that is why I dont think its a direct sequel, I am guessing more like a prophecy that the Book of Omens is going to tell them about. I could see the Thundercats having stole the gem because the book said in Mumm-Ra's hands the world could end or something like that.
Though in regards to Cats Lair, didn't they only get that built because of the Berbils? Can't wait to see how they fit in since we see the hand of one in the premiere

Yeah, the Berbils did help them build Cats Lair in the original series. The T-Cats were planning to build it themselves, but the Berbils offered to help and spead the process up considerably.
I have "Exodus: The Movie" on VHS from when I was a kid (it's the first several episodes of the original show edited together into a movie.. in some cases with extended scenes/dialogue, though in a few cases with parts cut out from the individual episodes, likely to make it flow better as a movie). I saw it so many times as a kid that I can hear the extact tone and inflection in my head of Ro-Bear-Bill's voice saying, "We will help you build your home."
Hopefully the Berbils help them build the new lair in the new series as well. It would be a perfect explanation for them to get a new tech-based Cats Lair.
It's $40... still overpriced, but not quite as badly.
I'm not going to make it a high priority right now, but I may pick it up down the road. The playset itself is kind of "meh", but I do want the invisiable Tygrathat comes with it.![]()

Yeah I am on the bandwagon of hating the playset, if it goes on clearance I will get it but otherwise I am not paying $10 more than I did for the Thundertank to get a diorama pieceIt's $40... still overpriced, but not quite as badly.

Yeah, I might get the playset on clearance but that's it. Which is sad, because I think the lack of playsets is a crime... but if this is the best they can do then why bother? Unless they greatly improved the paint apps (as the rep at toy fair seemed to imply in a video I watched at YouTube) it's just SO plain looking. There are hardly any details. Almost no paint details... and frankly, the whole thing looks like pieces of some cooler playset they didn't make. If it was the 80's, this is the stuff they'd throw in to the actual playset just to add value.
Also, the action features are kind of lame. I guess getting into the gate is okay (not that you couldn't just walk around it!!!) but an elevator is pretty boring... especially when it doesn't lean anywhere! And the slide.... I don't know... I hope the line gets a better playset down the road. But if no one buys this one that's not going to happen.
I am guessing the kids will eat it up though the minute it appears on the show, just like how the Thundertank is now selling quicker after last weeks episode.
But I agree with everything you said, maybe if someone bites the bullet and they paint it up or something that will look good. Bandai left a lot of things unpainted even though they sculpted the details
