The staction is quasi lame. They got the colors right, finally. First company to EVER nail the colors on Lion-O correctly. The facial expression is like "OK HERE I AM...YUP."

But whatever.... still worth looking into. The sword is a bit weird.

However im shocked, barely ANY one ever gets the sword blade color right. Im sure alot of debates go into it, but... the sword of omens has a crystal blade, hence the white coloring in the show. Even when the sword shatters in the show, you see it blow apart rather then bending or snapping.

Some people choose to believe its metal, some believe its crystal. To further dispute it, in the show TONS of sword are silver, only the SoO is white bladed.

That's interesting about the Sword of Omens having a crystal blade rather than some sort of metal blade. I hadn't payed much attention to it before.

Here's the regular version of Lion-O:

Looks to me like the only differences between the SDCC version and this one are obviously the sword length and the base design.
    This space for rent, apparently.....

I'm really not thrilled with the face sculpt on that Lion-O mini-statue (staction). I'm also more interested in the action figures anyway.

On a scale of 10, this piece gets a 5. 1 point for accurate colors. 1 point for good sculpt. 1 point for giving TC fans what they want (sort of) 1 point for cool base. 1 point for existing (but barely)

The other 5 points were lost for lacking a dynamic pose, cool accessory pieces (Snarf, alternate head, 2 swords), not getting rid of that silly mime face make up, having a dated costume, and being priced too high.

I'd love to see what at talented fan could do with some paint to improve upon this.

I think some blackwash could do wonders, or at least some kind of wash to give the muscle some depth

lol @ the mime face make up comment

    WOW!
That is totally awesome! It looks like the pose that Lion-O had at the intro.
    I already love that design!

Bengali is a much better pose. Lion-O is too pensive. I do love how true to the cartoon they are.

But I'm much more interested in seeing more of Pop Culture Shock's 38" Lion-O statue. that thing looks like its going to be really cool.

That big statue of Lion-O looks superb. I bet it’s going to cost an arm and a leg, though.

If I can snag BenGali for under 100.00 at some point, he's a must own for me. I have not, nor will I buy any other statues.

I've watched almost every Thundercats episode and I never got the impression it was crystaline. Especially that episode where, during the 'Return to Thundera' saga, the big evil lion guy breaks the blade of the Sword of Omens and Snarf takes it to some blacksmith in a flying ship. The way the blacksmith fixes it indicated to me the blade is metal.
