No, it is from Mattel. Mattel licensed Clawdeen Wolf and we were hoping for Clawdeen.

I find it funny how the Greys when they abduct us are conditioning us to be attracted to their kind. Large heads, stick bodies, large eyes. Inbreeding is happening and it is time to wake up people. Has anybody here heard about these? This July Mattel launched an all new doll line called Monster High (think Barbie meets Dr. Frankenstein) along with tons of spin-off merchandise, webisodes, a novel, and a music video.
Huh?!
How the hell does an unknown, untested no-name franchise out of nowhere get a full retail launch, webisodes, a new novel and other merchandise when an established and proven brand like MOTU has to struggle, and can't even get a pathetic little mini-comic printed?

This is from a very popular kid's book series going on. It's a Harry Potter thing sort of I guess you can refer to it as. Basically someone else is doing the correct type of marketing and Mattel is just jumping on their coat tails to sell a line of dolls. Well, of course Mattel didn't come to the company that owns Monster High, it was the other way around, but still the sales are coming off of the other company's promotions and popularity. Nothing really to do with Mattel other than they did actually make a pretty nice looking product. My wife has bought a couple to go with her Barbie collection.
EDIT: Rather than editing what I had typed, I'll just add on. The book isn't actually out yet as I thought it was. It doesn't hit until Sept. 1st. But it still applies what I said about it being a Harry Potter type of thing. I don't understand it and many of you all probably won't either, but there was chatter going on about this for months before the dolls ever were shown at Toy Fair 2010. It's been something apparently that kids have known about and has latched onto. Most of any promotions I've ever seen were in book stores. The dolls just kind of was on the shelf during the current reset they are doing in the toys right now. They didn't sell at first, but they ahve picked up steam int he last week.

my land lady has a collection of these monster high & i collect motuc.
I have been friends with a lady on facebook for 3 years and her name is Erin fitzgerald and I was telling her I go to toy fairs just recently as I collect action figures and she told me she had 2 coming out of characters from monster high who she does the voices for and I never had a clue she was a voice actress.
I got a Dead Tired Ghoulia today, potentially for trading for one I'm looking for... it was literally the ONLY doll I could find out of the 6 stores I checked today. I've never seen such a drought before, even when I barely paid attention to them I saw them quite often. I figured I could pick it up and someone else may need it, and may have one of the ones I need. At worst I just keep it, even though it' snot the signature Ghoulia it's not really a bad version.
So Robecca is pretty awesome. I love the gears on the back of her legs and that they rotate.
Oh yeah, they also had the school playset, but they wanted $80 for that. I know it is huge, but that is way too much money.
Eh, I just couldn't resist picking up a set.
It wasn't the dolls but the price and the quirky packaging that ultimately did me in

Ive been excited about Monster high ever since I saw the protos last year, I love Universal monsters and its such a cool idea.

I bought all the Monster High dolls! I freakin' love them! They're awesome! While I loved MotU growing up, I only have 4 of the current action figures. MotU has already been reissued once with the (amazing) 200x line. I don't honestly see much of a point in the Classics line, no offense.

What's the difference, except the new ones are a little toned down. And... uhm... these are actually alot nicer, cooler outfits... OK so they're not at all alike.... KIDS TODAY!!

But I would guess Abbey also since the last 2 years its been the fan fav (2010 Frankie/2011 Ghoulia)
Well, I took the Monster High plunge last night...I stumbled across the Hydration Station at TRU. I had never seen it in the store, but always thought it looked awesome. So when I saw one on the shelf, I couldn't resist.
I haven't opened it yet, but I will soon!

Yeah Abbey is Hot right nowand would be a great choice. Have you seen on Ebay how much the SDCC Exclusives have jumped up in price in the last 6 months? BW Frankie is around 250 to 300 and Ghoulia is 150-175 Wow, I am glad I got both when they came out!! I wonder what happened with Sarah Screams the one that won the fan vote last year??? I have not heard any information on her? Maybe she will be the 2012 SDCC Exclusive? but then again you can really trust Mattel Fan votes can we?

Well I am not sure if they will reference that vote again since I went on their Facebook and called shenanigans because I had proof the spider chick was winning (and no way the other doll could come back) and all the teeny girls liked my status and posted replies then Mattel remove all evidence of the pollYeah Abbey is Hot right now
But yeah we bought multiples of Ghoulia's SDCC doll just because at $20 it was a good idea if you had the money (she was available on Matty for almost a month) that way we would have some trade fodder if we missed out on the next years Exclusive. Still mad I did not pull the trigger and buy B&W Frankie off eBay for $68, foolish me though that was too high
Its insane, we have some spare Wave 1 MH dolls that I forgot I bought and I priced checked them on eBay recently and Clawdeen Wave 1 is going for $99-125
I had some vet bills to pay and I put up a Deuce Dawn of the Dance doll I got at a Gordmans and they bid it up to $55, and I put a Holt (the shelf warmer doll) up and he was being bid up to almost $60. The other earlier dolls go for $40-75, Mattel could reissue and probably clean up.
I guess its like JEM and people need to have the dolls, its insane though since for the longest time a lot of these dolls did not move last year. You can even go in this thread and see us complaining about Holt shelf warming
