MOTUC Octavia Discussion Thread

Please go with the bendums. Is impossible to give her good articulation in her tentacles with solid plastic. And the bendums give good result in King Hiss and in the future Snout Spout nose. But apart from the bedums i would like that she can hold her weapons with the tentacles too. This is the part i don't know if is possible to do with bendums. But is gotta be a way...

Yeah I'd also take an Octavia figure, accessory wise I'd like her to come with two of the same swords, I know she used four in the cartoon but her tentacles are probably not going to be able to hold they so I'd be happy with just one for each hand.

Bio wise I hope she's from Etheria and not around in the Preternia/King Grayskull era like they made Catra out to be.

I' like to buy an MOTUC Octavia figure, and she is a character I always wanted as an action figure in the Horde. BUT...

If Mattel chooses the fragile "bendable" solution for the tentacles, I'll have to pass !

They already used it for Hssss, and I don't even dare moving his arms too much due to the fact that the bendable snakes are rubbery and fragile, and that you can feel the snakes twisting around the wires when you move the arms.

With the Snout Spout figure, some fans had the displeasure ot find out that the trunk (who is ALSO a bendable item) had quality issues... So it seems that EVERY TIME they'll release a figure with a "bendy" part, there shall be a QC issue.

If they find another solution than bendable tentacles for Octavia, I'll buy her. Otherwise, I'll have to pass.

Octavia is now my #1 most wanted FILMation character, seeing as Shadow Weaver is on her way. To be honest Octavia is one of my most wanted figures right now, over most of the vintage MOTU and POP characters. I hope we see her sooner rather then later.

Those pics are a start ... but Octavia with swords,tentacles and that outfit would make awesome MOTUC !!!

As a Horde commander, Octavia can go toe ...or should I say tentacle with any foe.

Thanks for the photos DarkSpecter. I love the look of Octavia, those horde logo on the boots is a must. She really would not be that hard for Mattel to make. The boots are the only part of the female buck they would need to retool, then the head, outfit, and tentacles.

Now that Shadow Weaver is on her way, Octavia takes the spot of "character I can't wait to have in figure form", sooner then later I hope.

Octavia really stood out to me as a kid--more than Entrapta did even. And after seeing the purple octopus woman concept art that we've heard about for so long, I think that would be a great design for Octavia's goons similar to Merman's Filmation Fish Men and Catra's mini comic cat men (I can dream, oh can I dream...).

Octavia maybe could have flying whale or a shark to ride on .That would be pretty cool.

More pictures, well, i made a Octavia sketch a while ago but recently reworked some stuff, that´s my idea for the Lady!

She is a fabulous character and i can´t wait for her in MOTUC!

Wow - how did I miss this thread?

I'm a huge supporter of Octavia! I have a very strong feeling that she'll end up in the MOTUC line down the road (or hopefully sooner!) I agree, though, that her tentacles will be tricky. I too was hoping for "bendy" wire-based tentacles, but ya'll raise a good point - how will she hold her weapons? Maybe the tentacles could be solid, but rotate from the base point in her back - that way, you could still get a bunch of poses out of them just by turning them in different ways instead of bending them.

I'd really hate for them to have points of articulation, because then they'd look like robotic Dr Oc-style attachments when they're clearly supposed to be an organic part of her body.

As for weapons, I'd be happy with her coming with two throwing stars, two swords and two batons/stun sticks. Four swords would surely throw her off her balance.

I just hope they give her a nice bum! She always had one in the show, and I'm tired of the pancake-butted women in the this line (Marlena being the exception).

EDIT: What's this about an Purple Octopus Prototype Picture??? Can someone please repost it or link me? I'm VERY interested!

Just watched "Treasure of the First Ones" and I REALLY want an Octavia figure!!! She's got a great color scheme, great gimmick, great weapons/accessories, and is a Horde member! What more could you want?! Her and Scorpia are two of my top wants right now!!!

I'm looking forward to one day adding Octavia to my MOTUC collection.

I'm hopeful that she will be GREEN and that her additional arms won't be "bendable" due to the increased likelihood of breaking, but I would like them to be connected by ball-joints on her back, so they're at least somewhat poseable.
