Even though a little piece of my soul dies everytime they decide that the next PoP figure should be someone from the bottom of my PoP want list, I've gotta say that Octavia looks awesome! I wonder how Mattel will sabotage this before her release...
And of course it bothers me to no end that Frosta's face is a mess and the octupus-fish-monster lady's face is near perfect.
If it's not a silly question... How on earth are they going to attach her tentacles to her back through her hair?
Based on the pic in the email, it appears they will go under her hair. Not sure if the hair will leave spaces to accomodate, or if her head will just be looking more downward to accomodate the tentacles underneath. Either way I can not wait for this figure. I'll be eager to see the walk-through as well, though here's hoping they don't gloss over Octavia the way they did Netossa last time.
You and me both! On the Fwoosh's pics, you can even see how they painted inside the sculpted eye-section to reduce the "bug eyed" effect we saw originally. But now, it looks like Frosta's got small wrinkles/bags under her eyes. Oy!And of course it bothers me to no end that Frosta's face is a mess and the octupus-fish-monster lady's face is near perfect.
She truly turned out amazing! I was interested how one tentacle was sculpted to go around the sword, while the others were open. Good for posing options in the long term. Though I kept wondering, how is she holding those other swords? Suction power from her suckers, I guess?
I'm probably over-thinking this.
I couldn't be happier with Octavia, she's the coolest reveal since Ram Man and one of the most interesting PoP/Horde/Filmation characters. I was VERY happy to see her at Power Con and to see that she was done right!
I'm sure too, but I really hope she isn't looking down. That's my one big complaint about Bubble Power She-Ra - even when she's sitting on Swift Wind she's looking at the floor!
I still can't get over how amazing Octavia looks. Still in shock. My non-MOTU friends think I'm crazy and I don't care.
She is an amazing figure! I truly LOVE IT & pray that there are no production errors with this one!
I know in other posts in other forums, the concern for the elongated neck, but you know what I really think it works for her considering she is of a different species, it works as it doesn't look bad at all!!!
I can't wait to suggest this to some of my female friends this as a template for CosPlay!!!

I have to say that I am so surprised that people are really going for the bendy tentacle. Its surprising to me because I worry so much about the possible material choice they would go for. I understand the bendy is based on the King Hsss however there seems to be a cost savings thing going on with MOTUC. I am truly looking forward to this figure and do not want the quality of this figure to be comprimised with inferior materials.

Me too. It's the old "you can't please everyone all the time" thing. I would love bendy tentacles if they worked, but bendy stuff is problematic on a good day (no matter what the company) and these are so slim I think there'd be a huge risk or breakage. Now, I do wish she had another set of tentacles that were more curved so that you could swap out different tentacles. That would have been nice.The WORST!

Possibly, but this is cartoon accurate.
I keep seeing comments like this pop up. Can we please wait until figures actually come out before we start talking about what is/will be wrong with them? It's fine to point out issues in figures and to comment on trends, but I think this sort of talk is tiresome and needlessly brings down the tone of the board. I think we all understand the frustration that leads to these sort of comments, but there are PLENTY of places to talk about that stuff. And if it DOES happen, let's talk about. For now, maybe we can try to appreciate what we do know about her?
Octavia turned out so striking and beautiful. I hope the final figure is as close to this prototype as possible. She may possibly be the best female figure in this line yet.

I see what you're saying, and I'm not one to say "You must not change a thing!" but in my head I'm so used to them being a different shade it just seems right. And even though it might make more sense for them to be the same color, I like the way this breaks up the figure color-wise and gives it some variety, personally.
