I'm surprised by the Snarf love. He's not my favorite but I do like him. I just thought he was despised even more than Orko.

Panthro because he's a fellow chukker like me and he was the only Thundercat action figure I had. The rest were Mutants.

It'd have to be Panthro, loved playing with the figure as a kid!

I did not have any TC figure, but my friend had and he always used Panthro to play it as a wacky ape-man.
I always prefered Tygra instead because he was so mystic and centered like a Thunder HitCat

I also like Orko. I think alot depends on how old you were when you watched these cartoons. If you were closer to 10, I imagine not enjoying Orko and Snarf so much.. but if you were closer to 5.. You have a better chance of enjoying Snarf and Orko. I was rather young while watching these shows.. So I'm all for Snarf and Orko.

..but if there was a character like Snarf or Orko in the X-Men cartoon.. when I was closer to 10.. I would have hated it. Thankfully, there was not.

That sounds about right. Thundercats premiered less than a month after I turned 9 but I still liked Snarf. However I was 7 when Orko and the Ewoks were first introduced and I still love them to this day(although I hated the MYP Orko due in large part to his voice).

Panthro, Pumyra, or Ben-gali were my favorites. Panthro I guess would get the vote since he was around longer, but I have a suspicion the other two will need love. I never really got any of the toys though as they never really appeared locally.

And I agree on the Snarf and Orko thing, we had a dog that I named Orko.

Nope. Nowhere in my comment did I say I liked Panthro. It was he I chose mainly because of the spikes and his weapon of choice. Besides, my Mutants had to beat up on somebody.

It's actually pretty warm down here all the time. That's the way I like it. Uh huh, uh huh...

I kept going back & forth between Krypto & Orko for names for my French bulldog. For some reason, I ended up naming him Odie instead.

I wouldn't say it is an age thing as much as a person thing. If, for example, I had started watching MOTU and TC now having never heard or seen of either I would still love Orko and Snarf as, apart from villains (especially the monstrous looking ones), my fave kind of characters are the small comic relief creatures like those two (and for anime fans characters like Tony Tony Chopper)

    Ours was a shelty.

The original statement was a large part of it has to do with age, most of the people who tend to dislike those types of characters were older when they were first introduced to them. The same can be seen with Scrappy Doo, when he came along many of the original fans of the show were older at that point but if you listen to younger fans at the time they thought he was cool.

Same is also true with Jar Jar Binks talk to the 30 year old+ fans they thought he was the worst thing or close to it, but the younger fans the 10 year olds and below thought he was the best part. Similar happens with the Ewoks I loved the Ewoks considering I was all of 5 or so when they came out.

There are people who are older who seem to be an exception to the rule like you, but in my experience you are an exception. I tend to be more case by case. I hated Jar Jar and didn't mind Tony Chopper (granted I kind of lost out on the show shortly after he showed up cause of network changes etc).

well how I see it is TPM was a TERRIBLE movie

Darth Maul was the one bit of coolness to it, Ray Park was certainly the best thing in that movie just as he is the best thing in GIJoe

with Jar Jar he was good because he was bad, it was as if the actor and cgi ppl knew this movie was going to be a steaming pile so they just took the **** with him

While I'm not a huge fan of the Prequels, TPM is the only Star Wars movie I would give thumbs down to. It wasn't Jar Jar that ruined it for me. It was a mixture of Jake Lloyd(notice how he doesn't have a career anymore?), a poor script, and actors unable to elevate the clunky dialogue unlike Harrison Ford & Alec Guiness were able to do.

Lion-O and Cheetara are the two main Thundercats characters for me
