Truthfully- no.

I like most of the silliness and the other over-the-top aspects of MOTU, but Orko is just too Looney Tune. Imagine what this legless, goofball would look like floating around in real life (or a live action film). It's like making the Great Gazoo or Roger Rabbit a main character in Thor. He'd look dumber than Watto and be more annoying than Jar Jar.

Maybe if he had legs, didn't float around, and didn't have pies, kitchen sinks and extra arms come out his hat. I only accept him due to his seniority, as I'm sure the 100+ voters on this poll do. If he was created in 2002, he'd be the single most hated thing in all of MOTU history.

As with anything for me, Filmation is best....although they could have made him a little less goofy, and clumsy, but at least they explained why he was like that.

He IS a bit goofy, but I love him. No less goofy than Man-E and Mekaneck now that I think about it. But they're awesome too. And Orko's design is second to none. Just brilliant.

Could they have been a little less goofy and clumsy? Sure....

I wouldn't go that far...MOTU didn't need kiddie characters, secret identities and goofy villains for some of us to like the franchise.

Love Orko. He's in my top 3 alongside He-Man and Skeletor. As a young kid I read the first mini comics first and thus, while excited to see a cartoon, at first wasn't sure what to make of this very different royal setting/Prince Adam story Filmation had created. But Orko drew me in and thus he was the one that really caused me to be won over by the Filmation universe and incorporate those elements into my play time and personal MOTU canon (although there are still elements I really enjoy from the original mini comics).

As a child I found him patronising and foolish. A distraction form the cool setting of barbarian sci-fi. Like a Scoody Doo character thrown in to "Fire & Ice" or "Lord of the Rings". However, as an adult I enjoy him. So, yes I like Orko.

I always loved him. I always loved pointy eared characters as a kid, Orko fit the bill nicely. I could get past the bumbling because he just looked so cool to me.
