Hmm... so they got rid of the black handle on Grayskull's sword completely? I kind of liked it. I guess this way it feels more like Adam and Adora are using the "original" sword that Grayskull used.

Second, I dont understand how the pieces to the Classics figures are manufactured. I would imagine an injection mold with all the pieces of the body, legs, arms, head, etc. all in one mold. So for example, the mold for Grayskull would already have his specific type of foot in it. So they give us this prototype of Grayskull that has He-Mans feet. The ones with the lesser amount of fuzz at the top of the boot. Can any one give me some clarification of this process?

As I understand it, the pieces for this line are mostly in individual moulds to enable the level of individual part reuse/swapping that goes on. Take Zodak, for instance - he uses bits originally from Zodac, He-Man (who was retooled from Grayskull), Hordak, He-Ro and probably a couple of others along with the new staff. It'd be incredibly inefficient if they had to cast four+ figures to make one!

In lines where part-sharing is rare or non-existent though (like Transformers), the moulds are combined as you suggest, though.

I've seen a lot of posts asking about the cost of multipacks like the Palace Guards pack in December. For 2011, to clarify, there will be three (3) $30.00 Beasts and or Multipacks and one (1) $40.00 Beast or Multipack. We left out the second "multipack" word in the description.

In other words, the "Beast/Multipack" skus (1 per quarter) contain both 30.00 items and 40.00 items. For 2011 three will be $30.00 and one will be $40.00. Whether they are beasts or multipacks remains to be seen. But the prices are set since that needed to be upfront for the subscription.


While he leaves open the possibility of a $30 multi-pack, it won't be in 2011 anyway. We already know 2 $30 items will be Shadowbeast and Swiftwind, and I'd be shocked if the 3rd one isn't Panthor.

I'll bet three of those remaining 4 are:

Blonde Teela (probably holding her back because of the hard plastic dress and neck peg issue)
Red Beast Man
Green Trap Jaw

The last one is hard. My guesses are out of:

Blue Vest Prince Adam
Pale Skinned Evil-Lyn (same problems as Teela)
White Gloved Zodac
Orange and Silver Roboto
Symmetrical armor Man-At-Arms

Regarding the Roboto question- I actually spoke to Scott about this at SDCC, and he was sincerely enthusiastic about the idea of having both hands removable (he was particularly keen on the idea of having him displayed with two gun hands). Anyway, at that time, he didn't seem to think that making the other hand removable was a possibility at all. However, the fact that he's even mentioning it now gives me a lot of hope that they'll sort it out.

I'm actually hoping pale skinned Evil-Lyn will turn out to be the May bonus figure to coincide with the release of Faceless One.

If they continue the trend with mimicomic color, i am excited for the sets. If they are more like the Stratos set is a bit boring for me. I am hoping for red Beast Man, green Trapjaw, and a blue vest Adam to go with the blue Merman. I want a legit 200X Evil Lyn so i hoep we dont get her in a 2-pack.

Wow, Toyguru completely missed the point of the subscriptions question.

I thought the idea of two separate subs, one for just the monthly figures & another for the beasts (which could then be combined ala Club Ecto-1 & Club Eternia) was a really good suggestion, and yet he still didn't give a reason for why they can't do it.

When I said Evil-Lyn, I mean the Classic Evil-Lyn only with lighter skin. Sorta like the Filmation colors. It was one of the major issues fans had when she was revealed.

Yeah, probably noticed that right around the time they released the DC/MOTUC 2-packs based on and including the comics.

He revealed this earlier in the monthly Q&A's. He's referring to the DC 3 issue limited series characters (Damon, Ceril) and costumes (Bikini Teela, Blue vested Adam) and the two crossovers with Superman.

Since Mattel has the DC comics license, I think anything Marvel related is out.
Besides, Mattel has DC, while Hasbro has Marvel.
