Prince Adam's Vest IS Removable!

Okay, so I thought since the very first time we saw Prince Adam that his vest was removeable, and it is!

The spot where it is buckled IS glued to the belt, but it can be ripped open. IF anyone does this, I would recommend using a hair dryer or hot water. I used none, which is why some black paint ripped to the other side.

Anyway, the buckle does re-buckle, but it isn't as tight of a fit as being glued is (obviously).

Thats pretty good news but I wonder if anyone would ask that question to TG to tell him why did they glue it. Also, can the next issue of prince adam have a belt that snaps or something together.

I don't understand why that wasn't just designed to be removable in the first place. How are his ankles? I'm really dreading the potential quality control issues that tend to happen. Adam is my most anticipated figure since Trap Jaw.

The funny thing is, it is designed to be removed...but they glued the buckle anyways. Maybe it was too loose without the glue residue? I don't know.

As for the ankles, his right one is tight and his left one is loose. That's the case with most of my figures though. I think his left foot was supposed to be pushed in a little bit more than it is though.

i am wondering if the whole vest is easily removed from the body? i wanna make some mods to the vest and it needs to be off the figure in order to do so.

Why would you remove his vest?

Maybe to make it easier for customizers to add a slit for Adam's sword....

Or to put the vintage Prince Adam's cloth vest on the new figure so that his ab-crunch can function properly?

Hopefully these will be two things that Mattel changes when Adam is eventually released on his own card, with his own bio.

It actually isn't too hard. You just have to put his arms behind his back like he's handcuffed and kind of work it a little bit from each side.

I hafta agree with this question, cos that was my 1st thought too. But I understand that a large number of collectors like mixing and matching things!

and Kudos to anyone brave enough to snip off Adams vest and that stupid dentists coat!

Cos I have never even taken off a single MOTUC figures armor! (well except BAH for the obvious reasons!) I just cant see why I would want too! they are all perfect!

two things

anyone try to seperate this without forcing? I'm still afraid to boil a figure to get it loose to open, but I dont want to repaint the buckle, but I'd like to have it removable, even though I dont plan on removing it.

Is it actually verified that this adam is getting a re-release by himself? Sorry if I missed it, this is as good a place as any to ask.

Thanks guys! Prince Adam is Orko's accessory after all, so we should get a lot of play out of him. I also thought it was good irony, because Orko is supposed to be the one who disappears.

I think Prince Adam and colour change Orko are my favourite MOTUC figures for play and accessory options alone! So many possibilities.

1) That Mattel could have made a removable vest quite easily (since this one is already removeable, but that it's glued), but that they didn't BOTHER doing it (= lazy attitude).

2) That they said it was not removeable knowing very well that this would upset many fans. Now, the big question is : do they do it to willingly upset the fans ?

Other than that, that vest is still lacking the slit/scabbard for the sword. Another lack that shows Mattel's lazy attitude... That "slit" part can be made easily, but you'll have to sacrifice a He-Man amor for it (see the custom figures section of the forum).

And, of course, the QC issues remain, with loose ankles and other problems...

By the way, I agree : the pink weapons pack accessories look very good on Adam !

I agree that Mattel are relaxing with this kind of details. Other problem can be that 4H are making too much projects at same time: MOTUC, DCUC, Men from Outer Space, their own creations...

Yeah, I'm not going to attempt something that is glued. I tried to "fix" my wings on Stratos the other day and things did not work out so well. I boiled teh damn figure for like 20 minutes and the wings would still not come off. Now I have a wing that is permanently bent upward.

Spectror....I respectfully disprove your two points.

1) You said not making the vest removable was lazy. Gluing the vest in place was an EXTRA step in the manufacturing process...doing EXTRA work equals laziness? Not by any logic I know of.

2) I am 100% positive that Mattel does NOT deliberately do things to figures to upset the fans. These types of conspiracy theories are insane.

3) The Four Horsemen, NOT Mattel, design and sculpt these figures. Maybe Prince Adam didn't come with a scabbard or removeable vest because the original didn't either. The 4H made a design choice. That's all.
