    Question - Rio Blast Variants

    Hi All,

Please can someone confirm which countries made Rio Blast.

I know of Mexico and Hong Kong (light skin and dark skin variants). Is there a Spanish and French variant?

    Cheers

I am not sure how do the Spanish and French variants of Rio Blast look like.

I can confirm that Rio Blast made in France is not existing
And by the way it was one of the figures (with Evil Lyn, Sorceress and Snout Spout) never sold in France

Strange that it was not made in France. Didnt Spain get the moulds from France??

Also, looking at the list again, China is mentioned. Was this the Commemorative release? I cannot find any more information on it.

    Cheers

At some point in the 80's manufacturing moved from Hong Kong to mainland China. This may account for certain production variants.

    Ah OK.

So does it have a China stamp or is there some way of distinguishing it from the HK release?

Mattel Spain got many molds from mattel France it is exact, but not only, also many from other countries like China and Malaysia + their own molds
If you are looking at the spanish Horde Trooper as example, parts are mixed between made in Spain and Malaysia.
I never got a spanish Rio Blast in hands, I can't say, but for sure French molds are not existing for this character.

    Thanks Tokyonever.

I have seen Rio Blast on a Spanish card, but the owner was unsure what the stamp on the figure was or the colour of the leg bands.
