Prince Adam *did* originally have a sword holster

Greetings all--

I just posted this over on PGPoA: it turns out Prince Adam did have a sword holster. It was lost somewhere between the prototype and production.

EDIT: Just to clarify, this pic was sent to me by the Four Horsemen after I asked them why they didn't design Adam with a back holster.

That holster was probably one of those 4 Horsemen features that was eradicated by Mattel coporate in order to cut the costs...

Been playing with the classics with my 3 year old son today and even he was annoyed that there was no where to keep Adam's sword.

This must be a factory forgetting to put it on error. I just can't see Mattel being that desperate to cut costs to remove it deliberately.

That is disappointing. The lack of a holster really hurts the fig, in my opinion. Not as much as the awful ankles, but it does nonetheless.

I saw the holster before. Somewhere in a post with early PA pictures long ago.
I remember being excited that MOTUC PA finally got a holster.

It's not a deal-breaker for me, I like my Adam figure. But if it was indeed a cost issue, I would have sacrificed the second head to have a proper sword holster.

Nope no mistake, it was removed before it was tooled, if it was supposed to be there it would have been molded to the back of the vest like Adora`s holster not a glue on or clip on type of piece. For some reason they removed it from the prototype before it was tooled Not a good move at all IMO

Q: Why was the decision made not to include a sword holder on the back of Adam's vest? You've done this for most figures with swords, including Adora. Adam is especially known for pulling his sword out from behind him. I understand that She-Ra's hair probably got in the way of giving her one, but why not Adam?

A: The Horsemen created Adam based on the origianl toy. It was their design choise. We leave these choises to the boys in Jersey.

Yes they did! Toyguru said that we should ask the Horsemen why they didn't sculpt it!
