IMC, after Keldor was decapitated by Randor (sorry, the acid vial thing is stupid) he was very much not alive. After he was resurrected and merged with the entity Demo Man, he was somewhere in the middle. That is until Keldor found the skill to rid himself of the spirit and make himself whole (and living) again.
