MVC Comics - Collected Info About Emiliano's Ideas for the Comic

I have created this thread to contain a list I concocted previously that is meant to keep track of all the tidbits we've been granted about the direction the MVC comic could have possibly taken had it continued pending MVC approval then Mattel approval.

I will update it when / if additional information is shared. All information has been confirmed by Emiliano to be his personal take (though there are bits of Val's thoughts sprinkled throughout as well) on what he would have pitched to Val & MVCreations for future MVCreations comic stories, and none of it is based on speculation by fans. That being said, if you notice that I've missed something please let me know!

As best as I can recall, all information came from one of the following threads:

And many, many thanks to user Penny Dreadful for combing through the Roast Gooble episodes for a ton of other insights!

    FORCES FOR GOOD

    • Adam, Prince:
    • Adam was the son of Randor and Marlena of Eternia, twin brother of Adora, and half-nephew of the warlord Keldor. As a teenager he was entrusted with the Sword of Power, once the weapon of King Grayskull himself. Using the sword Adam could transform into the mighty He-Man.

At some point he would unite with a group on the planet Primus called the Guardians of the Galaxy. The villainous Kronis was sent back in time (to present-day Eternia) to prevent He-Man from joining forces with these enemies of Denebria.

The legend of He-Man and his friends would eventually take the shape of ‘fairy tales’ that would be told around campfires, with their identities likened to barbarians in a world of sorcery and science.

    • Adora, Force-Captain / Princess:

Her story would have been told in the never-released “Randor” miniseries.

Adora was the daughter of Randor and Marlena, twin sister of Adam, and half-niece of the warlord Keldor. Sadly, in the eyes of Horde Prime and Hordak, Adora was also the “ultimate weapon,” bred to destroy the Power of Grayskull.

She was kidnapped by Keldor and Prahvus at some point in her youth. Using one of the “keys” to Despondos, the villains passed her along to Hordak. After being given to Hordak, Adora was raised on Horde World before going to Etheria.

Adora would eventually wield the bejeweled Sword of Protection, which once belonged to Queen Veena and was created using He-Ro’s Staff of Wisdom. The gem set into the sword’s hilt (in conjunction with the gem used to form the Crystal Castle) would enable Adora to drive the Horde from Etheria and bring balance to the universe once more.

    • Angella, Queen:

Queen Angella of Etheria hailed from the kingdom of Mizar. Although similar in appearance to Queen Veena of ancient Eternia there was no direct relation between them.

    • Battle-Cat:

Battle-Cat was the mount of He-Man. Harkening back to his Battle Cat ancestors, this ferocious tiger wore both armor and a mask when in battle. It is commonly believed that He-Man's companion Battle-Cat and Skeletor's familiar Panthor are of the same stock, but this is not true—in fact, they are totally different species!

Thanks to an irreversible spell cast by the Sorceress for the purposes of a very special mission, Battle-Cat would develop speech capabilities so that he could communicate with He-Man.

    • Battle-Lion:

Aside from being the chosen mount of King Grayskull himself, this mighty green beast was special for other reasons: It was the cub of Sharella’s (chieftain of the Tribe of Green Tigers) albino tiger, and at some point it merged with the spirit of Central Tower’s Guardian Lion.

    • Bryon, Lord:

Lord Bryon was the leader of the House of Swan, one of Eternia’s oldest families—their family crest was once flown atop Castle Eternia’s central tower (i.e., the ‘80s toy). In addition to his social status, he was also a member of the Council of Wisdom and father of Queen Veena.

    • Carnivus, Chief:

Chief Carnivus was leader of the feline Qadian warriors. In a proposed Masters of the Universe / Thundercats crossover there would have been a meeting between the Qadians and Thundarian survivors.

    • Dekker:

Dekker was both a predecessor and mentor (along with Illumina) to the Man-At-Arms named Duncan. At some point he passed along to his pupil a special ring which made him a member of the Guardians of Grayskull (a secret sect devoted to the preservation of Castle Grayskull’s secrets throughout time). This act identified Dekker as a member of the order as well.

    • Duncan:

Duncan carried the title “Man-At-Arms” under King Randor, and possibly under the Council of Elders during (part of) their rule as well.

He had at least two teachers growing up: Illumina and Dekker. The latter was also his predecessor as Man-At-Arms.

He carried a special ring, passed down to him by Dekker, which identified him as a Guardian of Grayskull to other members of the secret guild. (It is unknown whether or not he knew of Illumina’s role as a Guardian as well). Duncan was also a member of the Masters of the Universe, a group formed (most likely without their knowledge) to help the Guardians of Grayskull with the protection of Castle Grayskull’s secrets.

    • Eldor:

Eldor’s exact species is unknown—he was more than human, but less than the demigod Ancients (equated to second-generation Ancients). Nonetheless, he was a wizard entrusted with the guardianship of the Ancients’ Book of Living Spells, and the creator of “Light Hope.”

He was also a mentor to the legendary He-Ro, and—with some help from the tribal chieftain Sharella—raised the boy.

Following a time when He-Ro was mortally wounded, Eldor decided that the only hope lay in drinking the blood of a giant. It was his hope that Gray’s earlier exposure to the Starseed would spare him the deadly side-effects of ingesting the enchanted plasma. Not only did his plan work, but the exchange transformed He-Ro into King Grayskull.

    • Faceless One, The:

      (See “Zalesia, Lord of”)

    • Gigantisaur

Not much is known about Gigantisaur. However, the giant creature was instrumental in helping He-Ro and the Council of Wisdom turn the tide of battle against Serpos on the day the snake god destroyed Zalesia.

    • Goddess, The [Green]:

      (See “Teela”)

    • Grayskull, King:

      (See “He-Ro / King Grayskull”)

    • He-Man:

      (See “Adam, Prince)

    • He-Ro / King Grayskull:

He-Ro’s real name was Gray, and he obtained his powers via exposure to the Starseed. His mentor was a wizened man named Eldor, and he carried the Staff of Wisdom. A tribal chieftain named Sharella also helped rear the boy.

Though he was never a member of the Council of Wisdom, at some point He-Ro achieved a “new status” that granted him access to their gatherings. As such, he was present on the day that the Lord of Zalesia renounced his affiliation with the group—setting in motion a series of events that would have repercussions across time.

At some point He-Ro was mortally wounded, and—as instructed by Eldor—he survived by drinking the blood of Tytus. The giant’s plasma, coupled with the powers He-Ro obtained from the Starseed, not only allowed He-Ro to survive, but it also transformed him into the man later known as King Grayskull.

As King Grayskull, he rode a ferocious green beast named Battle-Lion. Battle-Lion was created through a different amalgamation: the cub of Sharella’s albino Battle Cat and the spirit of Central Tower’s Guardian Lion.

    • Illumina:

Little is known about the blue-skinned warrior named Illumina. It is known, however, that she is a descendant of the Gar refugees that came to Eternia after the destruction of Infinitia and that she was a member of the Guardians of Grayskull (a secret sect devoted to the preservation of Castle Grayskull’s secrets throughout time).

At one point in her life, Illumina was known as one of the strongest proponents of anti-Eternian sentiments amongst her fellow Gar. Accordingly, she was a fierce proponent against efforts to integrate the Eternian and Gar peoples. What remains unknown, however, is what (if any) role Illumina had in the ruination of Captain Miro’s planned union with the mother of Keldor and the subsequent Gar massacre instigated by Count Marzo and other segregationists. Whatever the cause, with age Illumina’s views changed and she eventually sought atonement and repentance past for misdeeds.

At the time when the Mystic Wall was created she was on the Dark Hemisphere of Eternia, which effectively trapped her there. Fortunately, in addition to being a great strategist and possessing formidable fighting skills (especially with melee weapons), she has the power to control light and can even blind her opponents when those other talents are not enough. Prior to being caught on Dark Hemisphere she assisted Dekker in the teaching of Duncan.

Although a heroic force, it has been said that she was very cold blooded. Also, a common misconception is that she is in some way related to Keldor; however, beyond their shared Gar heritage there is no connection between them. Similarly, many believe that Sleetah, her mount, is a descendant of the Battle Cats of old, while, in fact, her white-furred companion is an entirely different species that is genetically closer to the blood-thirsty Panthor.

    • Keldor [Inverse]:

Within one of the parallel realities that exists is an ‘inverse’ version of Eternia where everything—even the forces of ‘good’ and ‘evil’ and the color of one’s skin—is reverse. In this reality a blue-skinned Adam claimed the Sword of Protection and transformed into He-Man…but never changed back. Instead, he used the power of Grayskull to vanquish his foes and conquer the planet.

His conquest was not without opposition, however—a band of heroic rebels (led by a Caucasian-skinned Keldor) fought back! During one of their battles, He-Man threw a vial of enchanted acid at his valiant adversary; but, Keldor deflected it and it struck He-Man instead. The acid ate away at his body, forcing him to replace his dying limbs and organs with robotic components.

    • Kudok Ungol:

Little is known about this mysterious mage, except that she was once a Sorceress of Castle Grayskull (though not a direct descendant of the bloodline).

    • Light Hope:

The entity known as “Light Hope” was in fact a Living Spell, created by Eldor using the Book of Living Spells, and entrusted to a delegation from Eternia tasked with finding a new world to replace Infinitia and restore balance to the universe. The First Ones cast (evoked? initiated? activated?) “Light Hope” upon landing on a barren world, which they named Etheria, thus creating life anew on the planet.

“Light Hope” was also given responsibility for guarding the Crystal Castle.

    • Man-At-Arms, The:

      (See “Dekker” and “Duncan”)

    • Marlena, Queen:

The beauteous Marlena Glenn was queen of Eternia through her husband Randor (the Elders' chosen successor). She gave birth to two children: Adam and Adora (later known as He-Man and She-Ra respectively). Sadly, her daughter was kidnapped by her half-brother-in-law Keldor and the villainous Prahvus, and then sent through a dimensional gate to the wicked Hordak.

She was not born on Eternia, but rather came from the planet Earth aboard her shuttle Rainbow Warrior. Her ship crashed on Eternia, where she met and fell in love with Randor.

    • Miro, Captain:

During his lifetime Captain Miro sired two heirs—Keldor (via an unnamed Gar female) and Randor (via an unnamed human woman)—each of whom would figure prominently into the history of Eternia.

The mother of his first child was a powerful Gar female. It was hoped that their union would ease racial tensions between the Eternians and the Gar. Unfortunately, this was not meant to be. Through the machinations of Count Marzo and others like him who were against peace between the two people, the relationship between Miro and Keldor’s mother was ruined.

Shortly thereafter, Miro failed to thwart Count Marzo’s plot to wipe out many of the Gar. Keldor’s Mother, one of the survivors, blamed her former lover for not stopping the genocide. As such, she raised their son to hate Miro and all other Eternians, thus starting him on the path to being one of the greatest threats ever known to Eternia.

Captain Miro eventually marshaled the Elders’ forces against Count Marzo. Following a battle at the Hall of Wisdom Miro’s forces finally managed to capture the wicked wizard.

Though Miro’s relationship with the mother of his second child remains a mystery, that child—Randor—would eventually succeed his father as captain of the Elders' forces before being named as Eternia's ruler in their stead.

Captain Miro's grandchildren (through Randor and Marlena) were Prince Adam and Princess Adora, also known as He-Man and She-Ra respectively.

    • Randor, Captain / King:

Randor was the son of Captain Miro and half-brother of the wicked Keldor. Eventually, he took his father's place as leader of the Elders' forces. After the disappearance of the Elders, however, he was anointed ruler of Eternia in their stead.

Through his wife, Marlena, Randor had two children: Adam and Adora (later known as He-Man and She-Ra respectively). Sadly, his daughter was kidnapped by Keldor and the villainous Prahvus, and then sent through a dimensional gate to the wicked Hordak.

The blood of King Grayskull ran through his veins, though it is unknown whether or not this was inherited from his mother’s side or his father’s (thus making Keldor a descendant of the ancient king as well).

    • Sharella:

Sharella was a tribal chieftain who helped Eldor raise the boy who would become He-Ro. She led the Tribe of Green Tigers, known for their ridership of ferocious, giant green tigers with yellow stripes—Battle Cats, as they were called—which they created masks and armor for. Sharella’s own mount, however, was an albino (white with green stripes).

    • She-Ra:

      (See “Adora, Princess”)

    • Sleetah:

Sleetah was the white-furred mount of the warrior Illumina.

    • Sorceress of Castle Grayskull, The:

Eventually the present-day Sorceress of Castle Grayskull will pass her mantle to her daughter Teela, who would become the Goddess.

Thanks to an irreversible spell cast by the Sorceress for the purposes of a very special mission, Battle-Cat would develop speech capabilities so that he could communicate with He-Man.

    • Star Child:

Throughout existence more than one entity has been called “Star Child.”

    • Teela:

Eventually Teela would replace her mother—the Sorceress—as protector of Castle Grayskull. Rather than calling herself ‘Sorceress’ however, she would be known as the ‘Goddess’

It was in her capacity as the Goddess that Teela would eventually fulfill an ancient prophecy wherein a great Priestess would became both redeemer and leader of the Snake Men.

As the Goddess, Teela’s skin took on a greenish tint. This was first seen during a confrontation with the wicked Snake Face. When he attempted to turn her into stone with his serpentine gaze nothing happened except Teela ‘flashed’ green.

    • Tytus:

Tytus was a giant who lived around the same time as He-Ro. Like other giants, Tytus’ blood was both magical and dangerous. He was known to be the giant most loyal to the Grayskull bloodline, and so it was to him that Eldor brought a mortally wounded He-Ro. The dying hero drank some of Tytus’ blood, but was spared the negative side-effects thanks to the power of the Starseed. The exchanged transformed He-Ro into the legendary King Grayskull.

    • Veena, Queen:

The woman who would one day be married to King Grayskull started life as Veena of the House of Swan, and daughter of its head, Lord Bryon.

She carried the Sword of Protection, which was forged from the Staff of Wisdom’s melted metal and held part of the gem from the same staff within its hilt. Following the death of He-Ro, an act of treachery (initiated by the enemies of Grayskull) necessitated Veena’s use of the blade for the first time, at which time she used it to restore honor to the kingdom. Eventually, this sword would go to Adora and she would use it to unlock the secrets and powers of the Crystal Castle.

Though winged like Queen Angella of Etheria there was no relation between them.

    • Zalesia, Lord of:

The Lord of Zalesia was once a member of the Council of Wisdom, but was banished from the group after the birth of his daughter: Evil-Lyn.

Shortly thereafter, he was forced by the Snake Men to unleash their god Serpos. Unfortunately for the Lord of Zalesia, Serpos soon set his sights on the city of Zalesia, endangering “Baby-Lyn” once more. His back against a wall, the Lord of Zalesia struck a bargain with Keldor: His daughter’s safety in exchange for the Havoc Staff, one of the “keys” capable of opening Despondos.

The Lord of Zalesia was mortally wounded during Serpos’ attack, but the Council of Wisdom had other plans for him: Using their magic, they transformed him into the Faceless One.

At an unknown point in the future, the Faceless One confronted Keldor, and was reunited with his daughter.

    *****
    FORCES FOR EVIL

    • Evil-Lyn:

As an infant, the sorceress who would eventually call herself Evil-Lyn was kidnapped by the Snake Men. They used her as a means of blackmailing her father—the Lord of Zalesia—into releasing their god Serpos. With the three-headed destroyer looming over Zalesia, Evil-Lyn’s father traded her (and the Havoc Staff) to a time-traveling Keldor. Keldor returned to the future with both the child and the staff.

It is commonly thought that Keldor raised “Baby-Lyn” upon returning to the future, though that is a misconception. In reality, the Faceless One—being an immortal, and therefore still alive in present-day Eternia—confronted Keldor soon after his return, and rescued his daughter. (It remains unclear who—if anyone—raised the child during the brief time between Keldor’s taking of her and the Faceless One’s rescue attempt.)

Keldor encountered the sorceress again some years later, when she thwarted his minions’ attempt at stealing a mystical orb. Struck by the handsomeness of Keldor’s countenance—or, perhaps merely sensing his power—she allied herself with the swarthy warlord. It remains unclear whether or not either of them recognized the other.

Following a battle at the Hall of Wisdom where Keldor was mortally wounded, Evil-Lyn took the warlord to one of Hordak's temples. The exiled Hordesmen saved Keldor's life by transforming him into Skeletor.

Years later, Evil-Lyn gained possession of the last fragments of the Shakarran Crystal. Although she did not fully understand the possibilities such an act would unlock for her, Evil-Lyn wasted little time assimilating its remaining power and incorporating it into the orb atop her staff.

With the addition of the Shakarran Crystal she was able to secretly siphon off some of King Hsss’ magic during their brief alliance and amplify it for her own purposes. Upon realizing that Hsss had no intention of sharing the power of Grayskull with her during the assault on the ancient fort, she unleashed a staggering magical assault that decimated the newly-freed Snake Men army.

At some point, Evil-Lyn's skin would have changed to a yellowish hue after receiving a magical upgrade of sorts.

    • Faker / He-Man [Inverse]:

Within one of the parallel realities that exists is an ‘inverse’ version of Eternia where everything—even the forces of ‘good’ and ‘evil’ and the color of one’s skin—is reverse. In this reality a blue-skinned Adam claimed the Sword of Power and transformed into He-Man…but never changed back.

At one point, the heroic Man-At-Arms from ‘regular’ Eternia was accidentally transported to the ‘inverse’ Eternia. Though he was eventually rescued, the evil He-Man followed him. Assuming the name ‘Faker’, the evil cyborg joined forces with Skeletor in hopes of conquering this new Eternia as well.

The alliance formed between them would have been similar to an alliance between Skeletor and King Hsss (i.e., tenuous and lasting only as long as necessary for one to garner the upper hand over the other).

    • Hordak:

A pupil of Noah, and one of the master architects who helped the Ancients construct the temple called Central Tower. His exact kind is unknown—he was more than human, but less than the demigod Ancients (equated to second-generation Ancients).

As a result of a spell cast by Hordak, the entire planet of Eternia was trapped in the pocket / barrier known as Despondos. The Horde, however, was trapped on the other side and unable to reach their target.

During the same battle where the spell was cast, Hordak’s body was destroyed…but that body was simply made of stone, and it wasn’t his first incarnation. After his stone form was destroyed he obtained a different one—more artificial this time, and capable of the shape-shifting abilities seen in the Filmation series.

Though it was Hordak that ordered Keldor to obtain the Havoc Staff—so he could open the gateway to Despondos—Hordak was not actually responsible for sending the warlord back in time.

Adora (the daughter of Randor and Marlena, and twin sister of Adam) was sent to Hordak by Keldor and Prahvus. (This story would have been told in the never-released “Randor” miniseries.)

Eventually Hordak saved the dying Keldor, transforming him into Skeletor.

    • Horde Prime:

      (See “Nordor [Ancient]”)

    • Hsss, King:

In the era known as ‘Preternia’ a sinister, half-snake / half-human figure known as Hsss assumed control of the House of Hiss. It was through his manipulations that the Snake Men joined the steadily growing legion of darkness on Eternia.

    • Keldor:

Keldor’s Mother raised him to hate his father, Miro, for failing to prevent the slaughter of the Gar people at the hands of Count Marzo. Biologically, Keldor was the half-brother of Miro’s other son (Randor), and half-uncle to both Adam and Adora (He-Man and She-Ra, respectively). A common misconception is that the warrior Illumina is also related to Keldor, though in reality their only link is their shared Gar heritage.

A young Keldor first made contact with the exiled Hordak through his practice of the dark arts. The latter recruited Keldor as an Eternian agent of the Horde, and saw him as a means of escape from Despondos.

Also during his younger days, Keldor found a way to travel through time. He spent some time in the Preternian era—possibly allied with the Unnamed—though it remains unclear whether or not he made multiple trips or one extended journey.

Keldor possessed the Havoc Staff, one of the “keys” capable of opening Despondos. He obtained the Havoc Staff from the Lord of Zalesia (Faceless One) during a voyage into the past, by offering to take the ruler’s infant daughter to a safe place away from the snake god Serpos’ destructive rampage. That child would later become Evil-Lyn, though it remains unclear whether or not—when they were reunited years later—Keldor recognized her as the first baby he kidnapped during his time as a Horde operative.

Some time later, Keldor, with help from Prahvus, kidnapped Adora—the daughter of Randor and Marlena, and twin sister of Adam)—and sent her to Hordak using one of the “keys” to Despondos. (This story would have been told in the never-released “Randor” miniseries.)

He is also part-Gar (on his mother's side), the native species of the lost planet Infinitia.

Following a battle at the Hall of Wisdom, where he was mortally wounded, Evil-Lyn took him to one of Hordak's temples. The exiled Hordesmen saved his life by transforming him into Skeletor.

Skeletor was capable of transportation with the aid of ancient spells and runes.

    • Kronis:

Although the villainous Kronis (later Trap-Jaw) was a known lieutenant of Keldor in present-day Eternia, he was actually a Denebrian agent from the future charged with preventing the “Champion of the Past” (He-Man) from joining the Guardians of the Galaxy.

    • Marzo, Count:

At one time Count Marzo was a political figure who governed the area where Keldor’s Mother and many of her fellow Gar had settled.

Fearing that a union between Miro and Keldor’s Mother would result in peace between the Eternians and the Gar, Marzo and others like him conspired to create a scandal meant to tear them apart. Their plan worked and soon thereafter Marzo successfully ordered the destruction of his Gar constituents.

Keldor’s Mother, who was numbered amongst the survivors, blamed Miro for his failure to stop Marzo and therefore raised Keldor to hate his father and other Eternians.

    • Might-Bite:
Might-Bite was a commander in the Evil Horde.

    • Nordor [Ancient]:

The being who would later be called Horde Prime started life as one of the Ancients. His name then was Nordor.

During the first of the Great Wars, Nordor’s treachery resulted in the destruction of the planet Infinitia (which in turn tipped the balance of the universe). With the universe out of balance, the Ancients lost their powers and were forced to enter into “rest” within Central Tower’s crypt.

The Ancients created Despondos as a way of controlling Nordor’s growing forces.

Prior to defeat at the forces of goodness Nordor split his essence into two, but it was always his intention to be reunited (adding yet another reason for the Horde to target Eternia).

The part of Nordor’s essence that was known to the Ancients was stripped of all form and identity—he became known as the Unnamed. Eventually, the Unnamed was imprisoned by the Council of Wisdom within the Shakarran Crystal, but not before using the Snake Men to further his vendetta against the forces of goodness.

Since the Unnamed is incapable of assuming his own form, he usually adopts an appearance similar to those closest to him (e.g., He-Man).

The other part of Nordor’s spirit, which remained free and adopted the name Horde Prime, obtained a mechanical body and continued to lead his army from Horde World.

Horde Prime viewed Adora as the “ultimate weapon,” capable of destroying the Power of Grayskull.

[Note: As revealed in this very thread (page 4), readers got a glimpse of Nordor—or, at least his eyes—when the Sorceress probed Evil-Lyn’s mind following her exposure to Despondos’ poisonous barrier.]

    • Prahvus:

Prahvus, with help from Keldor, kidnapped Adora (the daughter of Randor and Marlena, and twin sister of Adam), and sent her to Hordak using one of the “keys” to Despondos. (This story would have been told in the never-released “Randor” miniseries.)

    • Shadow Weaver:

The origins and role of the sorceress named Shadow Weaver would have been the same as that of her Filmation counterpart.

    • Serpos:

The giant, destructive, three-headed god of the Snake Men painted a swath of death and destruction across Eternia’s lush landscape at least twice—once in modern times, and once in the distant path. In the latter instance, Serpos completely destroyed the ancient city of Zalesia—even the Ram Stone was incapable of stopping the attack—and was responsible for the Lord of Zalesia’s death. Finally, the snake god was defeated by a collective assault involving the Council of Wisdom, He-Ro, and Gigantisaur.

    • Skeletor:

      (See "Keldor")

    • Tri-Klops:

Tri-Klops was one of Keldor’s (later Skeletor’s) most nefarious agents, although his servitude was forced by a spell cast by the Lord of Destruction. Though blinded in an attack in his youth the warrior was exceptionally skilled with swords and technology.

It is rumored that before coming under the sway of Keldor’s dark magic the man who would become Tri-Klops was actually a member of the Guardians of Grayskull (a secret sect devoted to the preservation of Castle Grayskull’s secrets throughout time). It is unknown how he became a member, or if he ever shared any of his knowledge with his evil master.

    • Unnamed, The:

      (See “Nordor [Ancient]”)

    • Waspor:

Waspor was to be a flying Evil Warrior similar to Buzz-Off, created by the MVC crew.

    *****
    UNKNOWN ALLIANCE

    • Mother [Evil-Lyn]:

The mother of Evil-Lyn was not an existing character.

    • Mother [Keldor]:

Keldor’s Mother was a strong and prominent female Gar (though not their leader) who attracted the attention of Miro. Eventually that attraction turned to love. Initially it was hoped that their union would alleviate the racial tension between the Eternians and the Gar, though other forces conspired to sabotage such hope.

Through the manipulations of Count Marzo and others like him, and the resultant scandals that arose, Miro was forced to distance himself from both mother and child. Shortly thereafter, many of the Gar were slaughtered (possibly under Marzo’s order).

Though Miro himself was innocent of any wrongdoing, Keldor’s Mother blamed him for not stopping the travesty. Sad, bitter, and in the name of revenge for the Gar, Keldor’s Mother raised Keldor to hate Miro and the Eternians.

    • Noah:

Hordak’s teacher and one of the master architects who helped the Ancients construct the temple called Central Tower.

    *****
    FACTIONS

    • Ancients, The:
    • The Ancients were demigods, and among the oldest living creations. They existed before the Councils of Wisdom and Elders, but after the Overlords of the Eternal Dimension.

The Overlords of the Eternal Dimension entrusted the Ancients with care of the Starseed. The Ancients were also privy to the magics used by the Overlords of the Eternal Dimension in the creation of the universe and life therein. They eventually documented the spells used, and all other secrets of the universe, into the Book of Living Spells.

The Ancients built the temple known as Central Tower atop a well leading to the Starseed’s chamber. They also lived within Central Tower, and would eventually go to rest there as well. Once Eternia and Etheria are reunited at the center of the universe, and the balance is restored, the Ancients will reawaken from their long slumber.

At one time, Nordor—who would become Horde Prime—was a member of the Ancients. Through his treachery the universe was knocked out of balance, which drained the Ancients of their powers. As a result, they were forced to “rest” within Central Tower’s crypt.

    • Battle Cats:

Battle Cats were the names given by the Tribe of Green Tigers to the ferocious, giant green tigers with yellow stripes (or white tigers with green stripes in the rare case of albinos), which they rode. According to legend, members of the Tribe of Green Tigers were the only ones capable of taming these savage beasts. The tribespeople crafted armor and masks for the Battle Cats. Two descendants of these beasts were King Grayskull’s Battle-Lion and He-Man’s Battle-Cat.

    • Council of Elders, The:

Members included: Unnamed Leader (with big eyebrows), Unnamed Female (female and bald), Unnamed Caligar Male, Unnamed Merman, Unnamed Male (with dark skin), Unnamed Male (dark haired and lighter skinned), Unnamed Male (blonde and bearded), Unnamed Gar Female, Unnamed Female (bald and with long eyebrows).

The last of the Councils (specifically listed here) to be formed. Just before their disappearance—when they transferred their essences to Castle Grayskull for protection—the Council of Elders proclaimed the warrior Randor as king of Eternia.

    • Council of Wisdom, The:

Existed before the Council of Elders, but after the Overlords of the Eternal Dimension and the Ancients. It was one of many Councils to have existed over Eternia’s long history.

Members included: Eldor, the Lord of Zalesia (Faceless One), the Star Child, Lord Bryon of the House of Swan, Mother Tetsudo, Unnamed Female Gar, Unnamed Old Male Gar, Unnamed Fire Man, and Unnamed Alien. (Note: While not a member of the Council, the warrior He-Ro attended at least one of their gatherings.)

The Council of Wisdom met within the safety of Central Tower, a temple created by the Ancients which sat atop one of the wells leading to the Starseed.

The Council of Wisdom played a part in numerous key events in Eternia’s past. They were responsible for trapping part of Nordor (Horde Prime) within the Shakarran Crystal. The Council of Wisdom, along with He-Ro and Gigantisaur, was also instrumental in driving back Serpos after the snake god destroyed Zalesia, and transforming the fallen city’s ruler into the Faceless One. Lastly, it was also the Council of Wisdom that sent the First Ones—along with part of the gem atop He-Ro’s Staff of Wisdom and the Living Spell “Light Hope”—to find a new world. Eventually that expedition discovered Etheria.

    • First Ones, The:

The First Ones were Eternians sent by the Council of Wisdom to find a world that would replace the destroyed Infinitia. It was their hope that this new planet could bring balance to the universe once more. They brought with them the Gem Seed (part of He-Ro’s Staff of Wisdom), and a Living Spell named “Light Hope.”

Eventually, they found the lifeless and barren planet that would become known as Etheria. Using “Light Hope” the First Ones brought life to the world, and using the Gem Seed they created the Crystal Castle.

    • Gar, The:

Known for their blue skin, the Gar were natives of the planet Infinitia. After the destruction of their homeplanet—which was the result of warring factions, spurred by Nordor—the surviving Gar were brought to Eternia. Sadly, on the planet where they sought refuge, all they found was racialized prejudice and suspicion. Eventually, factions on both sides became ardent (and at times militant) supporters of segregation between the Gar and the Eternians.

The warlord Keldor was part-Gar (on his mother's side) as was the warrior Illumina, though there was no other connection between them.

    • Guardians of the Galaxy, The:

The Guardians of the Galaxy was the name given to the group from Primus whom He-Man would eventually join forces with.

    • Guardians of Grayskull, The:

The Guardians of Grayskull was a secret society, devoted to carrying the secrets of Castle Grayskull through the years following King Grayskull’s death. Its members were warriors who also ensured that the knowledge they protected was never subverted to suit the needs of Eternia’s ruler.

The Guardians of Grayskull were said to have carried special rings that identified them as members of the order. It is known that the Man-At-Arms named Duncan was a member of the Guardians, as was his mentor and predecessor Dekker. The Gar warrior Illumina was also a member, as was (possibly) the man who would later become Tri-Klops.

The heroic group which later called itself the Masters of the Universe was most likely formed, in part, to assist the Guardians of Grayskull in their mission; although it is unknown if any of the Masters (other than Duncan and Dekker) knew of the secret society.

    • Overlords of the Eternal Dimension, The:

The oldest of the groups that govern the world of MOTU / POP, the Overlords of the Eternal Dimension existed before the Ancients, the Council of Wisdom, and the Council of Elders. They have always existed, and will always exist.

They used the Starseed to create all universes and “plant and grow” all life. They—along with Eternia and Infinitia—are the only entities that existed across all realities.

The spells used by the Overlords of the Eternal Dimension were eventually transcribed by the Ancients into the Book of Living Spells.

    • Qadians, The:

The Qadians were a feline race of warriors led by Chief Carnivus. In a proposed Masters of the Universe / Thundercats crossover there would have been a meeting between the Qadians and Thundarian survivors.

    • Snake Men, The:

The Snake Men were an ancient race that predated humans on Eternia. In the era known as ‘Preternia’ a sinister, half-snake / half-human figure known as Hsss assumed control of the House of Hiss. It was through his manipulations that the Snake Men joined the steadily growing legion of darkness on Eternia.

According to an ancient prophesy, the Snake Men could only be freed from King Hsss’ control and brought back into the light through a powerful Priestess. Eventually that prophecy would come true, and the Priestess would be revealed to be none other than the Goddess! Under the leadership of the Goddess the Snake Men would go on to fight alongside the heroes of Eternia.

    • Tribe of Green Tigers, The:

This tribe was known for their ridership of ferocious, giant green tigers with yellow stripes—Battle Cats, as they were called—which they created masks and armor for. Their chieftain, whose tiger was an albino (white with green stripes), was named Sharella.

The cub of Sharella’s albino tiger would eventually merge with the Guardian Lion of Central Tower to become King Grayskull’s Battle-Lion. The tribe’s mounts may have also given name to Battle-Cat, the companion of He-Man.

    *****
    LOCATIONS

    • Central Tower:
    • Central Tower was a temple built by the Ancients’ master architects (which included Hordak and his mentor Noah). The tower was built atop one of three tunnels that led to the legendary Starseed. Both Grayskull Tower and Viper Tower were erected nearby as a tribute to the aid offered to the Ancients by the corresponding groups.

Central Tower also served as home and final resting place for the Ancients and a meeting point for the Council of Wisdom.

At some point, the spirit of the tower’s Guardian Lion would merge with the cub of Sharella’s albino Battle Cat, and from this union would emerge King Grayskull’s mount: Battle-Lion.

    • Crystal Castle, The:

The Crystal Castle is located on the planet Etheria and protected by the Living Spell called “Light Hope.” It grew and formed from the Gem Seed, a fragment of He-Ro’s Staff of Wisdom brought to Etheria by the First Ones.

    • Denebria:

Denebria was the name of a planet that existed in the same solar system as the planet Primus and the satellite called Nordor.

At some point in the future the villainous Kronis was sent back in time to destroy the “Champion of the Past” (He-Man) before he could join the Guardians of the Galaxy.

    • Despondos:

Despondos is a form of barrier rather than a dimension per se. It was created in ancient times by the Ancients (or possibly the Council) as a way of containing Nordor’s (Horde Prime’s) forces. The Ancients also created “keys” (of which the Havoc Staff was one) which allow for safe passage. (Passing through Despondos without a “key” will ultimately result in sickness and death.

The planet Eternia was trapped in the pocket / barrier called Despondos when Hordak’s spell backfired.

    • Eternia:

The planet Eternia rests at the center of the universe (as did the planet Infinitia once). The two planets, as well as the Overlords of the Eternal Dimension, are the only things that exist in all realities.

Eternia was trapped in the pocket / barrier called Despondos when Hordak’s spell backfired, making it both invisible and impossible to find.

Once Eternia and Etheria are reunited, and the balance is restored, the Ancients will reawaken from their long slumber.

    • Eternia [Inverse]:

Within one of the parallel realities that exists is an ‘inverse’ version of Eternia where everything—even the forces of ‘good’ and ‘evil’ and the color of one’s skin—is reverse. In this reality a blue-skinned Adam claimed the Sword of Protection and transformed into He-Man…but never changed back. Instead, he used the power of Grayskull to vanquish his foes and conquer the planet.

    • Etheria:

Etheria was once a lifeless planet in a distant galaxy, until a group of explorers dispatched by the Council of Wisdom arrived. The First Ones, as this group was called, brought with them the Gem Seed (a fragment of the gem that once sat atop He-Ro’s Staff of Wisdom), and the Living Spell called “Light Hope.”

“Light Hope” brought new life to the planet, as the Council of Wisdom had planned, and it was hoped that Etheria would restore the universal balance that was lost when Infinitia was destroyed. From the Gem Seed there formed a mystical fortress called the Crystal Castle, wherein “Light Hope’s” essence lived.

Eventually, Etheria fell to the Horde. Adora, the kidnapped daughter of Eternia’s Randor and Marlena, spent part of her youth there. She would later be given the Sword of Protection (which contained a second piece of the gem that once rested atop the Staff of Wisdom) to free the planet from the Horde and restore the long-missing balance to the universe. At that time, Etheria would assume the place of Infinitia as Eternia’s binary / galactic companion. Once Etheria and Eternia are reunited, and the balance is restored, the Ancients will reawaken from their long slumber.

    • Grayskull Tower:

Grayskull Tower was built near the grounds of Central Tower as a tribute to the Tribe of the Gray Skulls in honor of their bravery during the first Great War. The start of construction on Viper Tower on the other side of Central Tower prior to Grayskull Tower added to the growing tension between the Tribe of the Gray Skulls and the House of Hiss.

    • Great Forge, The:

The Great Forge was where the Staff of Wisdom was melted down and re-forged into the Swords of Power and Protection. It is unknown where the Great Forge was, though eventually it was (re)discovered in the present-day..

    • Horde World:

      (See “Infinitia”)

    • Infinitia:

Infinitia was the planet which, along with Eternia, kept the universe in balance. The two planets, as well as the Overlords of the Eternal Dimension, are the only things that exist in all realities.

During the first of the Great Wars, Infinitia was destroyed as a result of Nordor’s (Horde Prime’s) manipulations of warring factions—it was corrupted and its life force forever drained. This resulted in the planet losing its orbit and becoming lost in space, thus tipping the balance of the universe itself.

The blue-skinned natives of Infinitia were known as the Gar, and those Gar that survived Infinitia’s destruction came to Eternia. Both Keldor (on his mother’s side) and Illumina were descendants of these Infinitian refugees. Unfortunately, the native Infinitians found more war and bloodshed on Eternia, spurred by racialized fear and prejudice.

Eventually, Horde Prime, stripped of his physical body, rechristened the still-burning planet Horde World. From there he controlled his evil army.

[Note: As revealed in this very thread (page 4), readers got a glimpse of Infinitia’s destruction when the Sorceress probed Evil-Lyn’s mind following her exposure to Despondos’ poisonous barrier.]

    • Nordor [Satellite]:

There is a connection between the celestial satellite called Nordor and the fallen Ancient by the same name; however, the exact relationship is unknown.

    • Primus:

The planet Primus shared its solar system with the planet Denebria and the satellite Nordor. It was on this planet that the Guardians of the Galaxy were based. It was not the world Eternia would eventually become.

    • Viper Tower:

Viper Tower was built near the grounds of Central Tower as a tribute to the House of Hiss in honor of their bravery during the first Great War. The start of construction on Viper Tower on the other side of Central Tower prior to Grayskull Tower added to the growing tension between the Tribe of the Gray Skulls and the House of Hiss.

    *****
    OBJECTS

    • Book of Living Spells, The:
    • The Book of Living Spells was created by the Ancients, and it contains all the secrets of the universe. In fact, it is a transcription of the magics used by the Overlords of the Eternal Dimension to create the universe and life therein.

Eventually, it was entrusted into Eldor’s care, and at some point the Book of Living Spells was used to create the entity “Light Hope.”

    • Gem Seed [Fragment]:

This Gem Seed was a fragment of the green gem that once sat atop He-Ro’s golden Staff of Wisdom. It was brought to the planet Etheria by the First Ones, whom the Council of Wisdom had dispatched to find a new planet that would replace Infinitia and restore balance to the universe. From this “seed” grew the Crystal Castle.

Working in conjunction with Adora’s Sword of Protection (which itself contained a second fragment of the gem that once rested atop He-Ro’s staff), the power of the Gem Seed would eventually defeat the Horde and restore balance to the universe.

    • Gem Seed [Whole]:

Gem Seed was the name given to the giant green gem that sat atop He-Ro's Staff of Wisdom. It was a fragment of the Starseed itself. Following the creation of the Swords of Power and Protection, the gem was separated into (at least) two fragments. One fragment was sent with the First Ones to the planet that would eventually be called Etheria, while the second fragment was embedded in the Sword of Protection's hilt.

    • Havoc Staff, The:

The Havoc Staff, created by the Ancients, is one of the “keys” capable of opening Despondos. At one point it was held by the Lord of Zalesia (Faceless One), but he traded it to Keldor in exchange for the safety of his infant daughter: Evil-Lyn.

    • Shakarran Crystal, The:

The Shakarran Crystal was a powerful artifact which the Council of Wisdom used to imprison the Unnamed. The Council hid it in another dimension.

However, Skeletor was eventually able to garner possession of a significant piece of the crystal (containing the Unnamed). Following a battle with He-Man, the part possessed by Skeletor was mostly destroyed. Evil-Lyn gained possession of the crystal fragment’s remnants and used it to bolster her own powers. It is unknown what became of the Unnamed following his brief confrontation with the heir of Grayskull.

    • Staff of Wisdom, The:

Staff of Wisdom, which was created using part of the Starseed, was the name given to the golden rod carried by He-Ro.

At some point the staff was melted in the Great Forge and the metal used to forge the Swords of Power and Protection. King Grayskull himself (formerly He-Ro) would wield the Sword of Power, while his wife carried the Sword of Protection. Later, these swords would be passed along to Adam and Adora, the twin children of Randor and Marlena, and they would use the powers within to become He-Man and She-Ra.

The green gem that sat atop the Staff of Wisdom, the Gem Seed, was split into at least two fragments: One of those fragments was set into the hilt of the newly created Sword of Protection. The second piece was sent with the First Ones to the planet that would eventually become Etheria, and from it blossomed the Crystal Castle itself. When the fragments were brought together again (through Adora), it would lead to the vanquishing of the Horde on Etheria and restoration of balance in the universe.

    • Starseed, The:

The Starseed was used by the Overlords of the Eternal Dimension to create all universes before being entrusted into the care of the Ancients. It is kept at the center of Eternia itself. A fragment of it was used to create the Gem Seed, the green gem that once sat upon He-Ro's Staff of Wisdom.

Central Tower (a temple built by the Ancients where the Council of Wisdom was known to meet), sits atop one of three wells leading to the Starseed’s chamber. A second well is located within the abyss that surrounds Castle Grayskull, and the final well is the cave in which He-Ro’s “amazing transformation” took place.

An icon representative of the Starseed and its effects in the creation of the universe can be seen in the flagpoles atop the Crystal Castle and Castles Grayskull and Eternia (which also utilizes symbols of the Starseed elsewhere).

    • Swords of Power and Protection:

      (See "Staff of Wisdom")

    *****
    EVENTS

    • Great Wars, The:
    • During the course of history there have been many “Great Wars.”

The first Great War resulted in the destruction of the planet Infinitia, which (along with the planet Eternia) kept the universe in balance. As a result of this, the Ancients lost their powers and the native Infinitians (the Gar) were brought to live on Eternia. It is said that the Tribe of the Gray Skulls fought bravely during the first war, and as a tribute to them Grayskull Tower was built.

You might also want to put in there that the gem seed and Hero's staff were formed from a small portion of the star seed, the element that created the big bag. It reinforces how powerful the gem seed is and working with Light Hope from the book of living spells this was how the Gem Seed was able to begin the rebirth of Etheria.

This also gives new meaning to the reasion why Light Hope said in the Filmation episode "Welcome She-Ra long have I awated your comming". The moment She-Ra enteres the crystal castle with the sword of protection both haves of the gem seed come into contact again as the other half of the gem seed still resides in the crystal castle.

It would have been intresting to know if the star sisters would have been worked into the crystal castle lore, with the crystal caverns being just below it on sky dancer?

Excellent. Excellent thread. Most informative, and something that awaited to be formed.

Emiliano at one point told many little nuggets about their plans for He-Ro and King Grayskull, which I tried picking up, and it's simply fantastic to have information surrounding that as well.

While collecting information about the MVCreations' comic...

I seem to recall Trap-Jaw being the one who picked up the remaining part of Shakarran Crystal at the end of Volume 1 Issue 4.

    Emiliano: can you confirm/deny this?

Here's some more info on Illumina and her powers:

Thanks, Angel-T—I went back and found the information in the original threads and added it!

Jukka, I hope you're right about Trap-Jaw picking up the fragment at the end of that story. I've always wondered about that!

    Thanks, SlyVenom!

Great catch, Darkspecter, and thanks for including the direct quote / link! Consider it added!

Additionally, I went back and found some questions from those original threads that (as far as I can tell) went unanswered. Maybe Emiliano would be kind enough to share some more details with us now if he's able...

Did [Evil-Lyn] hear the sorceress reveal Adam's secret while in Castle Grayskull? She made a noise on that panel. If she did overhear this bit of info, would she keep it to herself or tell someone like Skeletor? Also, did you plan to have her turn good, because at the end of vol 3 issue 6 the Faceless One talks to He-Man about "sewing the seeds of rebirth rather than death" and that "the future will be made from such compassion...and wisdom". So perhaps Evil Lyn does know He-Man's secret now but she will protect it and turn good thanks to He-Man saving her life? Or am I reading too much into this

Is the gem on top of He-Ro's staff from somewhere else? In the interview your answer reads like the whole of He-Ro's staff came from the star seed.

if Nordor (as an achient) knew Adam & Adora were destined to become He-Man & She-Ra how then did their identies remain secret in your story. When Adora turned against the Horde surely Horde Prime would have simply instructed Hordak to Kill the prince & princess while in there untransformed state? Maybe when Nordor was split into Horde Prime & The beast in the Sharkarian crystal he lost asscee to his full knowledge as an achient. I can't think of anyother way it would have worked out. This would also tie in with what the Sorceress said in SOTS when she said " he knew they were both destined for something special, but he didn't know exactly what!"

A very interesting thread and a good initiative. Keep it going!

I'm not sure I like all of these ideas, but it's cool to read about them. They're close to how the MOTUC canon is constructed, lots of people being related and lots of time/dimension travel...

This info sadly wont make it's way into MOTUC, its part of the extended MVC comic series "randor mini series". I think I saw it written on the boards somewhere Mattel had originally approved this new story arch, but they put it on ice when they started to kill off 200x MOTU in 2005. All this info was found in the MV creations comic book bible which is it's own cannon. Sadly Mattel have refused to let Val and Emiliano post the bible so fans could see where the comic was going. As far as I am concerned it's the biggest slap in the face they could give he-man.org. What harm could it do to the brand by letting the 200x fans see where this fantastic comic was going.

But I know one thing, from the info that has been released by Emiliano it has filled in the blanks for my own personal cannon. Perticularly the story elements concernign the Gem Seed, sword of protection and the crystal castle and the ultimate destany for She-Ra, her purpose and the final explanation of her extra powers over and above he-man. I think val & emiliano knocked it out of the part with their planned story. Hopefully one day they will post the MVC comic bible and fans will finally be able to get the complete picture and see in detail the final ending we have been waiting for since our childhoods.

I remember seeing it written somewhere an ending was planned.

    She-Ra & He-Man kill hordak;
    Skeletor is redeemed by raising the sword of power above his head and invoking the "I have the power" incantation;
    Skeletor becomes Keldor once more;
Keldor then sacrafices himself, by distroying Nordor / Horde Prime by driving the sword of power through his chest!

Some additional questions I thought of:

    1. I was just looking at the sketch of Illumina's mount and realized that the Council of Wisdom's crescent symbol appears on the saddle. Is there a connection between the Council and Illumina (and by extension the Guardians of Grayskull) as well?
    2. What was the timeframe for the first of the Great Wars? Did it occur during He-Ro's / King Grayskull's life, significantly before, etc.?
    3. We know that Infinitia was left burning following Nordor's actions. What exactly did he do?

Angel-T, the ending you were discussing wasn't set in stone. Emiliano was simply explaining how he and Val differed a bit in regards to the possible ending.

There were so many wonderful things they were going to do in this series. It still bums me out that Mattel wouldn't let it happen because I honestly think it would have been amazing. The comic was the best thing to happen to MOTU since the 80s IMO. MVC took the elements which made MOTU great and elaborated on them with skill and with love for the source material.

Angel-T, here's the interesting "end chapter" stuff. Awhile back Emiliano posted this tidbit about what might have happened way down the line. I like the idea of eventual redemption for Skeletor, but only after he does some really bad stuff. On one hand, he's the ultimate MOTU villain and it eventually should come down to Skeletor being the biggest bad of all. However, after all that is said and done, there is always this chance for him to finally see the good and redeem himself. Maybe.

    Here's the quote:

    Quote Originally Posted by Emiliano

So , who knows. We wanted an end, with a final confrontation with Nordor involving She-Ra and Hordak as well.
And Skeletor would have played a big part regardless.
If it was me, he would have been the one ending the conflict.
I had this sequence in mind, probably the very last issue, where He-Man and She-Ra finally kill Hordak and then He-Man turns back to Adam, give the sword to Skeletor that invokes the Power of Grayskull!
He's transformed in something new and somehow, after many year, he's face hes' restored to his young self.
But there is no time to be happy for that as Keldor sacrifice himslef stabbing Nordor inside his giant mechanical body and dying in the explosion that ends the Horde empire forever.

More MVCreations' plans for 200x comic

We aimed to balance classic elements with the new story and make them exciting to readers.
It's a hard act to balance and we know not everyone will be on board.

We included the blue skinned Faker from the toy (both classic and new). And let's be honest here. How many times could that Faker lure MOTU heroes into a trap? Never. Not a single time.

And in the classic cartoon, he did just that, but he was also nearly as strong as He-Man, matching him in every way.
That not only make him deceiving, but also a force to deal with.
Only problem was that he was visually identical to He-Man except for some glowing eyes.

I wasn't big on the potential cartoon direction of Faker.
How long before Man-at-Arms figured out a way to put him out of commission?
And how long before more and more of those robots came into play, since Man-at-Arms seemed to be able to create them so easily?
We wanted Faker to be unique in all ways.

I have to agree with Val about Skeletor, keep him evil till the end, I don't like the idea of him being redeemable. I like him killing Horde Prime though, just for his own purposes.

I wonder if you can expand on this Emiliano? If you had gone is this direction just what would have been Skeletor's motivation for turning good again? Did he find something out about his past or maybe something to do with Miro or his mother? Also what would make Adam trust him enough to hand him the power sword? Maybe the Sorceress told him he could now be trusted?

There are a lot of cool things in there and while i love the comic I am sure glad a couple of things didn't come to pass. :-s

Some ideas are brilliant, like the creation of lighthope, while others are really bad and unnecessary imo. Like He-ro turning into king grayskull or the whole faker thing.

IIRC, Kronis also was another former Guardian of Grayskull for a while, as part of his scheme to get closer to the "Champion of the Past".

I loved how it was hinted in The Shard of Darkness, that there would be more behind Tri-Klops than meets the eye. And after his Icons of Evil one-shot, I believe Val also mentioned that he might have overcome Keldor's "loyalty" spell at one time. Did you have any further plans for Tri-Klops?

If knowledge serves me right, there also was an Icons of Evil issue planned for Evil-Lyn, but canned by Mattel in favor of telling how she met Keldor in "The Price of Deceit". Was the comic supposed to tell what we saw in the cartoon episode, or did it have a different story?

I like the idea of Skeletor redeeming himself in the final story. I also totally digged that Keldor is sort of a wild card in the prophecy; and I wonder if it may be more than just coincidence that a decendant of King GraySKULL ends up with a SKULLface while constantly trying to conquer a SKULLshaped castle.

I believe there also were some B/W pages of the Randor miniseries shown online? Does anyone still have those?

Apparently JJ Kirby did some pages?
I never knew that until someone showed me.

Roger Cruz did a couple pages prior to him, but had to bail on the mini-series.

I can't even really remember why we put that mini-series on ice.
I think that may have been around the time the CrossGen woes started, so we didn't want to dig a hole.

Okay, let's try to answer some questions.
Onlya few, but more will come

A premise though. This is strictly my personal vision fro 2002 series.
I'm pretty sure this is the same for Val: if we had to create our story from scratch before the MYP cartoon was introduced, we'd have done things differently.
At the same time, if we had chance to write stories for MOTUC, starting with a clean slate, things would have been differently too.
I'm saying this because I want to make clear these background story were meant to build up and go along with the MYO cartoon, tryign to solve some fo the problems and expanding on its concepts.

If I remember correctly, the Hiss house fought during the Great Wars too and aided the Ancients. As the Grayskulls, as a tribute for their loaylty, a tower was built close to the Central Tower. That happened before the Grayskull Tower was built and when this former one was created some rivarly started to arise between the houses.

About the Shakaran crystal, who stole the shard at the end of issue 4?
That was an important plot point. Val, correct me if I'm wrong here.
Kobra Khan was the one that stole the shard. He then offered it to Evil-Lyn, asking for her help to free King Hsss in return.
That's also why EL is so powerful in the Rise of the Snake Men mini series.

Did Evil-Lyn hear the sorceress reveal Adam's secret while in Castle Grayskull? She made a noise on that panel. If she did overhear this bit of info, would she keep it to herself or tell someone like Skeletor?
No, she didn't, she was completely uncounscious.

Also, did you plan to have her turn good, because at the end of vol 3 issue 6 the Faceless One talks to He-Man about "sewing the seeds of rebirth rather than death" and that "the future will be made from such compassion...and wisdom".
We didn't have specific plans into turning Evil-Lyn good. But for sure, between her relationship with her father and Keldor we could have took her to a point where she was questioning her actions and morality. it would have been cool to make her a possible key to Skeletor redemption and then having her greed and foolishness completely messing these chances.

    Hmm, some astronomy questions here!
Well, in the story Etheria wasn't in the same solar system. It was glaxies far away from Eternia. It was Infinitia that was in a binary system with Eternia, before its fall.
Once the prophecy is accomplished and the Despondos barrier falls, Etheri will take the spot left by Infinitia in the same binary sytem.

Beign completely honest, I can't remember specif plans for Awat Gar. Val?
All I cna think of is that we probably would have made it a sort of embassy of the people from Infinitia before the Great Wars, but it's just an idea.

    MVC plans for Marlena GLENN:
She was an astronaut from Earth, travelling into space aboard her shuttle, the "Rainbow Warrior" that crashed on Eternia were she fell in love with a young King named Randor
I think there was no doubt Randor was Grayskull descendent, and all the talk abotu Marlena was pure speculation.

    (2) What about the Sorceress--can you tell us anymore about her, and what you may have had planned for her?
We didn't want to change much. Of course, plans would have been to explore more the realtionship with Teela and MAA, and at one point she would have died and been replaced by Teela -as the Goddes.

I have an hard time thinking that any of the characters on Etheria can be remotely connected to someone on a planet distant billions and billions of lightyears. Only Adora is there, because she came with the Horde.

Would you have brought back Angella's kingdom in Mizar ?
Absolutely yes, no changes there. The rule was to respect the original canon as much as possible, so unless something in the new cartoon forced us to find other solutions, everything should have remained the same, no reason to make uncalled changes.

That's it for now, more on the next round!

Nah, the reason she's so powerful at the end of ROTSM is because, unbeknownst to the reader, Evil-Lyn had then embedded the shard into her staff crystal.

When she helped King Hiss, she was secretly doing it to absorb part of his power into her staff,
which the crystal essentially amplifies in some sort of way.

Evil-Lyn got angry at the end of the story, and basically drained the battery on her staff; depleting the energy she had just collected,
while turning it back on the snake men.
And because the magic was snake magic, that's why it was also so powerful in destroying so many Snake men.
power of the shard + added power from King Hiss + nature of snake magic turned back on the Snake Men = why she was so powerful there at the end.

In fairness, she still didn't know the extent of what the shard could do either, and that would be an on-going experience for her as the story went on in the regular series.

Thanks for jumping in Val! I hope you'll join Emiliano in sharing some tidbits about the comic! Speaking of which, I posed this two questions to him once before and he implied that you might be the one to ask about this:

    Great thread!

Emiliano, could you elaborate on King Hiss and his origins? He tends to remain in human form much of the time. Why is that?

Val or Emiliano, I thought I heard something about a spell on Cringer. Would you mind elaborating on this spell?

    Thanks guys!

Re: Faker - I actually really like what I've gleaned about the ideas MVC had for this character. The "opposite dimension" cyborg, blue-skinned King He-Man idea hinted at in the comic just sounded cool IMO. The idea of an evil version of He-Man, with his associated motivations and inner-conflicts, is far more interesting to me than a robot built by Man-At-Arms and left in the royal junkyard.

Gotta agree. It surely would have been interesting to see how exactly things went on that Mirror-World Eternia*.
*On a side note: Kinda fitting that the 6-part story was printed in Germany since that's where the famous "Anti-Eternia" audio play (featuring an evil He-Man, Orko and Man-At-Arms) originated from and still is regarded as the best of the entire series.

Oh, I just remembered, wasn't that shard also the explaination of the "Classic Colors" Evil-Lyn Staction? I think you once stated that the shard ultimately would've turned her skin yellow.

Telkan2: Great job putting all this info together.

I went through it and have a few minor edits. From Emiliano's latest answers, it seems that Viper tower was built before Grayskull tower (the order is not mentioned in your encyclopedia). Also, you use both "Eternal" and later "Timeless" to describe the Overlords of the Eternal/Timeless Dimension. Maybe list that both of these are possibilities/acceptable?

I really like this origin for Faker, though I'm not generally a big fan of alternate realities. I think I would like it best if this was a rare/isolated incident of crossing realities.

And regarding the fate of Skeletor, I am fully in agreement with Val. I think he should have stayed evil in the end. I'd like to think that he would eventually become the big bad, conquering the Horde/Hiss and getting a stranglehold on the universe, before ultimately falling to He-Man in the end. I can see what Emiliano's trying to do here, but in my opinion it weakens the character. Though it is nice to see differing opinions on this from a lot of people here
My name is Pan . . . and I am the Man.
