WTFWTK 2.45 - Ask your questions here!

Rules for What The Fans Want To Know:
    • Each user is limited to 1 question per Q&A.
    • Posts that repeat questions from other Q&As or from earlier in this thread, or posts that contain multiple questions, will be deleted and the offending user will no longer be permitted to participate in that particular Q&A. So check to see if your question has been asked and help everyone out!
Be sure to check the posts in this thread before you, as well as previous Q&A sessions!
    • This is for question submission only; not discussion. Please save that for discussion threads, and Q&A answer threads.
    • We will start a new Q&A thread when it is time for more questions, approximately every 2 weeks. So please don't start new Q&A threads.

The figures that can be produced are figures that were in the original MOTU, POP and NA lines, as well as in the mini-comics for these lines.
Characters that appeared in the 2002 MYP cartoon are also fair game.
    Filmation characters are off limits!
Who will be produced will remain to be seen.

We will pick up to 5 questions we feel might get answers at that time. Please do not take offense to your question not being asked.
Also, we also edit questions to make them more concise, to be more specific, etc. Please take no offense to this either, as it's only meant to help.
    It's nothing personal.

***Important note: Mattel has limited the questions to 5 from each site who submits Q&As.
Mattel has also asked not to submit figure inquiries about unannounced figures (eg: When will we see [insert character name])

    --------------

This past round of questions were selected by dorrmann,
and proofed against old Q&As by Uncle Montork.
Thanks to them for their help!!!

The questions that were asked in the previous Q&A & will be answered in a couple weeks as follows (please do not repeat them, or questions from previous Q&As):

    1. Sandman: For characters who had limited articulation because of limitations to their action features (for example: Ram Man, Man-E-Faces, Mekaneck, Leech, Mantenna, Horde Troopers, Tongue Lashor and more), will these rather immobile characters get some decent articulation now that the action feature is not being considered by Mattel?

    2. Skystalker: You said that we should expect about 2 POP figures and 4 female figures in 2011, but no estimation of New Adventures figures. How many of those will we be getting?

    3. Loo-Kee: With prototypes finally come to life, what about the Star Sisters? And while going through the Mattel archives, did you ever come across the Star Sisters action-figures? We hope to see official pics of them!

    4. Masamune: Regarding the prospect of a new MOTU movie and the news that yet another writer is supposedly attached to the project, does Mattel have final say in what goes on with a new MOTU movie if they felt that the direction wasn't in line with their view of what the MOTU property should be and would they intervene? Or is it out of Mattel's hands?

    5. Irian: Toyguru mentioned that for Roboto Mattel has changed both of his arms so that they work like Trap Jaw's. Does that mean that we will be able to attach the weapons to BOTH of Roboto's arms or just the right arm as in the 80s?

    --------------

    So ask those questions!

With the impending re-release of Zodac, it's easy to assume that we will get a re-release of Zodak, who might not have sold as fast as Mattel wanted, but given that he was the 1st bonus figure that might have had a production increase & went on sale the same day as Teela, was quite a success to us fans. However, one of the main complaints us that all Zodak came with was a repainted Zodac head and was clearly lacking a 2nd helmet-less head sculpt. Since the 4 Horsemen make more then what us asked, can you say that there us a 2nd Zodak head sculpt that does exist & IF Zodak us re-released in the future, will Mattel right their wrong and either package Zodak with the 2 head sculpts or at least switch heads and have Zodak come with the new head sculpt and leave the repainted Zodac head off the reissued figure?

What is the policy on figures that are 100% reused parts in the 1980's line?

Since we now have every component that made up the vintage Stinkor figure except the armor (which will be shared with Mekaneck), is there any chance he could get the same kind of extra tooling that Moss Man did? I don't want Stinkor to be flocked, but could he get with an extra head, classicized versions of his 200X gas tanks or maybe even some new sculpting of another kind?

In regards to the Green Goddess, while the figure didn't sell as well as other figures this figure has become quite an issue with collectors because of the bobblehead situation and brittle plastic causing many Goddess figures to now be broken. If and when we see a new Goddess figure will these issues be fixed?
Mattel I'm still waiting for these characters!

In the New Adventures line there were three versions of He-Man. He-Man and Thunder Punch He-Man came with the same type of Power Sword, while Battle Punching He-Man came with a totally different sword design. Is it possible that when Mattel gets around to NA He-Man, that he will come with both swords?

Hi Toyguru! Is there any chance that the re-issue Tytus will have softer plastic used for loincloth? The hard plastic used for the first release is probably unnecessary and limits the leg movement a lot.

Any chance that the Snake Men will finally get a woman added to their ranks? And by a woman character I mean someone other than a Snake Teela repaint?

The pop mini comics include characters such as Wise Old Wizardess, The Seer, Josh, Catra's Catmen and Catbirds, and the NA minis include a new version of the sorceress. Are any of these or which of these available for MOTUC?

The 1980s Masters of the Universe magazine had a comic with an original story that featured a cartoon version of Karg. Could this comic possibly count towards Karg being made as a MOTUC figure?

Since the Horsemen's Battle Ram was "just for fun," but almost every fan now wants it and expects Mattel to produce it, would you consider selling the Battle Ram as a complete set with the chariot, but also selling the chariot as an individual piece or two-pack since many fans would like several of these?

    Tytus.

When Battlecat sold out, it was announced that he would be again available in the Fall.

With the quick sell-out of Tytus, as with Battlecat, any news on a Tytus re-release?

    Thanks!!

We know a vehicle will be coming in 2011. Will the packaging on this vehicle have amazing art work, like in the vintage line, or will it be an open window like Battle Cat and Tytus, so MOC collectors can view the vehicle?

The awesome folders/cases that the SDCC art prints came in had Flimation artwork on it and I was wondering how that was able to happen since Mattel doesn't have those rights (yet!)?

I know this is pretty far fetched, but will Mattel ever consider purchasing the rights to motu knock-offs such as Galaxy Warriors?

Is there even the slightest possibility? It could be one way to extend the already great MOTUC line and even as a cheap imitation, they were still a part of what I and others considered to be motu.

A follow-up to the SDCC toys (Matty website versions).

How in the world would putting the website version on the subscription make the SDCC exclusive versions any less special? Your previous answer... didn't make any sense. At all.
