OK, I was really reaching on the title of this thread.

If "logistics" were not an issue, which Evilseed would you like to see released as a MOTUC toy?

Filmation's Evilseed...

MYP's Evilseed...

From what i understand, the Filmation version may have had a better characterization, I still want the MYP because he looks awesome. Plus he made me appreciate Mossman- double bonus. Now if I could only get a reasonable MYP Mossman....

I love the Filmation design but I voted both, since I would be fine with a swappable Filmation head added in.

I'll take both, but the MYP version really got on my nerves.

The design where Orko first sees him before he "blossomed" into a villain was the better looking one, imo.

I like both designs, so I don't mind that the MYP version will most likely be made first.

I just had a thought. Evilseed will come out sometime (2012-13, maybe) after The Faceless One. If they get the Filmation rights, they could included the Filmation head. Then fans could put it on The Faceless One's body to have a more true cloaked version of Filmation Evilseed.

MYP, all the way. It would be cool with some extras for the MYP -version btw. Like, include a bag of EvilSeeds, as well as an alternate sprout-head and a sprout-west that you can put on him. To sort of simulate the trapped and chained look.

Filmation Evilseed suffers from a very common affliction among the cartoon-only characters, the "bystander syndrome".

What I mean by this is that, with a few exceptions, many of these characters don't look very interesting, and not like they're warriors (like the vintage toy-based figures). They're more like props, character who stand around and move the story forward, and visually their design was kept at a bare minimum to save on animation and allow for frequent model reuse. Yes, Evilseed is a great episode, but taken outside the context of that episode, there's not much to this version. He's very passive, never engaging in any personal combat (or even displaying any ability to do so), just working through complex scheming (common among the cartoon villains since hand-to-hand fisticuffs were forbidden).

And honestly, Evilseed himself is the least interesting part of that episode! The thing that makes Evilseed great is the Skeletor-He-Man interaction, with some wonderful character bits between them, and the Sorceress!

And before anyone jumps down my throat about this, I'll gladly admit that some Filmation characters would make cool figures, especially Shadow Weaver and Scorpia.

I feel the same way about the beyond bland Swamp Thing ripoff. If we don't get the Filmation version, I won't lose any sleep. If we get the 2002 version, I'll be selling my first MOTUC.
